Anyone else think Collinsworth was unbearable last night?

Good grief...after the Butler interception I turned the sound back on...and he was PISSED. He was criticizing the Seahawks, not in an objective-broadcaster kind of way...but in a "you jerks, you were supposed to BEAT these evil guys!!!" kind of way that an active rooter or fan would. I was actually laughing at him it was so incredibly blatant.

Plus of course I was laughing with stunned disbelief (in the happy sense) at the same time anyway!

I particularly enjoyed their disgust that we didn't get flagged for an intentional grounding. They made Zolak look like a fair, balanced, objective comentator the whole game

The one thing that annoyed me was that Butler balled out on that play man, he put the work in, he studied, the coaching staff put him in a position to be successful and that coupled with his instincts...playmaker...but the only thing CC kept talking about was the poor play call.

Yeah Collingsworth started that whole thing about it being a bad call and then the idiot sports press took up. Little credit to Butler and the Patriots coaching staff. The Patriots dominated most of the game and deserved to win. The Seahawks did not lose because of that play; they lost throughout the game to a better team.

I actually didn't notice it during the game. I was too caught-up in the excitement. He was unbearable harping on deflategate in the postgame - so unbearable that I tuned in Felger instead.

In the past, these two especially Michaels always seemed fairer than most and un biased and I enjoyed listening to him. I have no idea what has transpired but recently they are so anti-patriots. It can not only be deflategate, there has to be more to it !!

I wasn't bothered by him at all, honestly. I generally like Collinsworth and wasn't offended by anything he said last night, and feel I'm usually sensitive to such things.

He thought it was a bad call not to run Lynch. It probably was.

I know they all but had to bring up the inflate **** to keep their "media cred", but bringing it up at 3rd and 14 with the game entirely on the line was a joke.

No. They talked too much deflategate, but that would have happened regardless of who were the game's national announcers.

Bringing up Deflategate during the crucial parts of the game was absolutely DEPLORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would last night be any different than all the other games they do?

The network must have encouraged the Deflategate talk because Michaels and Collingsworth both brought it up at weird and unnatural times during the game, and Michelle Tafoya hit Kraft with it in her 2nd question at the side of the trophy presentation. I would have walked away from her at that point. Hears hoping that Kraft remembers how NBC and ESPN have treated his team when he leads the negotiations on the next TV contracts, like he did the last time around. Bend those ***hats over Robert.

A good analyst can have an obvious bias and hide it.

Al Michaels and Collinsworth did a terrible job of that last night.

He did point out what should have been a 15 yard roughing the kicker call...I like him a lot in general, he goes into the x's and 0's more than anyone.

I blocked out most of it, but every once and a while they intimated that something will happen because of it.. an assumption of guilt... as hard as they tried they could not kill my "buzz".

Never liked Collinsworth anyways, he voice goes down my back bone.. along with the smile out of the side of his mouth.

So I just watched NFLN's replay of the game. From what I remember, as the game was over there was a whole 3 minutes of "yeah they won but what does the Deflate-Gate future hold?". None of that was on here. They won, Tofoya interviews Butler, then they cut Michaels off mid sentence and go to commercial. When it comes back its Warner walking the trophy to the stage.

So suck it Michaels and Collingsworth. Your commentary was so bad it got edited out of NFL's history!

Wait, is this the same guy who lambasted another subforum, stated that he doesn't care what others think about Deflategate or the Pats, and called those who do "whiners?"

I loathe them both but to his credit Collinsworth did question the lack of a roughing the kicker call.

Many commentators across many different sports are meh. They are not so much analysts as they are cheerleaders to hype up the play and magnify achievements and the level of play to make the PRODUCT of the NFL seem better than it really is.

If you watch English Premier League, the commentators always mention "the best league in the world" almost every broadcast no matter the quality of the game. They focus on the star players and exaggerate basic plays but will overlook their mistakes to stay with the narrative.

It is just hype and issues like deflategate are fantastic storylines for the average/casual viewer. Unfortunately.

That "who knows what the future holds" garbage was really bad.

I bet they were told to take a anti-Pats slant since most of the country was anti-Pats.
I was getting downright pissed. You would think the Pats were on trial for war crimes against humanity. They were making it sound like it was another Spygate or they would need to vacate their SB.

Idiots.

Yup, it was 100% planned that way.. it was a despicable, disgusting display of broadcasting.
Yep. The guys in the truck told 'em to bring it up as they didn't explore that storyline during the game.
