Does this game make up for the heartbreaking losses?

This game has put me at peace. I can now 100% ignore all the haters and the noise. Nothing they say will get to me anymore.

This is exactly how I feel. 07 will always hurt and I hate just seeing the logo for that Superbowl, but I can live with it now. Brady has 4 rings and nobody can take that away.

Don't think anything will quite make up for 2007 but it does make up for 2011, IMO.

For me: Yeah.

You can't appreciate victory without knowing loss

For me yes, as a previous poster said it takes the sting away. It's hard to not think what we could have had but 4...feel pretty good about that. Also to see TFB close the deal again took me back. Feels good.

I´m finally at peace now. SB 42 and 46 will never be games I want to revisit ever again, but now I can insert them into a bigger picture, like they were setbacks but ultimately did not derail the train. Also they made yesterday that much more enjoyable.

It´s not quite the same, but it is a bit like the Bruins collapse against the Flyers a few years back. Winning it all the year after removed the sting of that collapse entirely and I could not care less when that collapse is mentioned.

The football gods gave one back ... now we need one more to even it out.

Feeling pretty good about now.

errr... still Feeling pretty good about now. Dislike me all you want! (sorry about the original DP)

It does not fully erase the hurt from them but makes it a lot smaller... almost non existent. I am ok with everything now.

For me it made up for 3 of our SB losses but not 42. That one is still tough for me to swallow

Makes up for sb 46. Nothing will really make up for an 42. Maybe if they win another ring or two, I can let that one go.

It's all part of what we signed up for.

You can't be a fan of this franchise and not expect the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.....

Everything just feels right. I'm ok if that makes sense. Until they kneeled that final down I didn't realize how much of a dark cloud those losses were in my soul. It sounds crazy but this win kind of lifted those demons. It's just a culmination of the haters, the media and Nothing since spy gate bs. The euphoria of this win is just awesome and uplifting for me. After the first 3 you think these moments are automatic. After so much disappointment and heartache you realize as a fan how hard it is for your team to win one of these. I really cherish this win and fully know there is a possibility we won't feel this way for awhile. Something I didn't realize after 05. But....planning on a repeat for next year.;)

Kind of. This one felt really good....like the best feeling IMO after the 1st AV kick

The '06 loss to the Colts, the Tyree game, the 2nd Giants game.. to me, this makes up for it all and I no longer feel like we've "left any on the table" because we just ****ing STOLE one.

Down 14 to Baltimore twice. TWICE.

Tied for the biggest comeback in SB history. Seattle had the ball at the 1. 99/100 times Seattle probably wins in that situation.

I dunna know. It's kinda like saying the 2004 Red Sox made 1986 less painful. It didn't. I'll always remember how I felt after Game 6.

06, 07 and '11 were disappointing in their own ways. I'll never forget how I felt after those games just like I'll never forget how I felt after 36, 38, 39 and last night.

But 2007...ugh. Awful.

Don't know anything can make up for '07 (and that we still have to put up with Doltphins champagne escapades every year), put at least the curse of miracle plays killing this team has been put to bed. Now just have to wait for someone important to show Deflatebs is just a bunch of hot air.

To each is/her own: For me I needed another Banner unfurled in Foxborough like I need oxygen. I always felt in my heart (and said repeatedly to my long suffering non sport family), that my Bucket List included one more Ring for TB/BB and Patriot Nation. It was a kind of validation, re-reinforcement or whatever description you choose to make that I needed to witness for myself to put some issues to rest.
To lose yesterday would have been such a blow for us, the Fans and the Patriots Organisation as a whole, I cannot begin to imagine how coping with another L would have felt like, nor do I want to.

The W means so much more the a W normally does, for the Legacy of TB + BB, and for me (and hopefully others) putting painful memories firmly where they belong, in the past.
The manner we lost the last two Big Dances we were at, yeah sure it stung, and like others, to this day I still have not re-watched those losses.
Today those defeats are without doubt, not as painful. To be realistic, we cannot win them all, but the Patriots sure do give it a helluva try.

Yes it does make up for it. I'd say that if there's one game that still stings when I see replays it was the first Giants game.

But it is a minor sting now. That fourth ring was the one needed to cement legacies and we finally got it. Would a fifth and sixth be nice? Sure but 4-2 is damn good.

It's all part of what we signed up for.

I agree. Dosnt mean I can't be hurt by the lows though. I'm thrilled they are 6-3 in the AFC game and 4-2 in the big dance.

I'm feeling extremely fulfilled and relaxed. I just watched the game again without the stress and it was wonderful.

Malcolm Butler really did have a good game when he was finally given a chance to play.

Did it make up for the heart-breakers? To a certain extent it has. I'm no longer worrying about what might have been. I am only appreciative of what we have. Four championships. Wow.
