The '06 loss to the Colts, the Tyree game, the 2nd Giants game.. to me, this makes up for it all and I no longer feel like we've "left any on the table" because we just ****ing STOLE one.

Down 14 to Baltimore twice. TWICE.

Tied for the biggest comeback in SB history. Seattle had the ball at the 1. 99/100 times Seattle probably wins in that situation.

Just a tiny bit. 2007/08 is still ridiculous to me.

However I don't think that the Patriots stole this victory. They dominated the Seahawks, had their way with the Seachickens. It was only some miraculous plays that kept Seattle in it. It took one of the greatest play in Patriots history to seal the deal, but they Patriots deserved this win. If Seattle had won, then you could say they stole it.

The one good thing about Kearses catch, it was connecting the game back to the giants bowls and therefore the Victory helped me one step closer to letting SB 42 go. Maybe not really made up for it, but its been a while.

Redemption is not the same as a clean slate. It is a deeper and more complex flavor than unseasoned victory. This win is made sweeter by the prior losses. It does not make-up for them. It does, however, make it easier to appreciate two exceptional seasons that came-up one or two plays short.

The bitterness of the last two losses has made this win much sweeter. IMO, this was the most significant game in the history of the NFL.

I have always felt that it all goes with the territory. If you are a consistently great team or a fan of one then you will consistently be on situations that will result in either great joy or great heartbreak. The Patriots are clearly the greatest franchise of the free agency era and as such play in the biggest games against the best teams year after year. No team, no matter how great is going to win them all, and every team is going have good breaks and bad breaks, and those ultimately play into the outcome. The Patriots have had both and have won more than their share. The bottom line for me is that I'll take the heartbreaking losses given the joy of winning it all. Last night was awesome, as much fun as I have ever had watching any sporting event. Hopefully it will be the same story next year at this time.

It helps ease the sting of those losses...

To me it does. I think we're getting greedy if we want more than 4 rings in this time frame. Yes, we could have had more and some of the losses have been gut wrenching, but we could have had less as well and alot of things need to go right to earn a SB trophy in the one and done format. To play 6 SB's which all came down to the last drive and come out with 4 rings it's a good overall result. If Brady has 2-3 good years left in him, I can defintely see a 5th.

I think this week I'm finally going to go back and rewatch SB 42/46 I've been wanting to see those games again but didn't have the strength until now.

It doesn't make up for the 2007/08 SB or other games folks have mentioned, but it sure does lessen the pain and take the edge off of the bad memories.
