I am never someone that posts these kind of threads after a game, but after such a great season and an unforgettable game, I have to get something out of my chest today.

1. What a great game. I think most people here thought we were gonna come out on fire and start scoring on those seahawks. Well we did came out on fire, but let's not forget how good of a team the seahawks was. They have arguably one of the best defenses in the Superbowl era, not as much as the 85 bears, but comparable to the steel curtains of the 70s, or even up to bar with our defense when we had our first dynasty run, and it showed yesterday in the game.

2. With that being said, how big was it that Jules knocks Lane out of the game after the Brady int and what a small little hard hitter Brandon Bolden was last night? Literally the smallest guy on offense knocked one of the biggest guy (Cliff Avril) on defense on the ground concussed. Maybe BB should look at converting him on the defense side a bit, we could need one more hard hitter back there. Without Lane, the secondary had to put a JAG out there and we scored a TD right after that. Without Avril, Brady never saw pressure in his face again, and went on to complete 8 out of 8 passes and a game winning TD.

3. Yesterday's game was a perfect metaphor for what happens in real life. The Patriots had to exorcise the demons from our Superbowl pasts, but everything that could went wrong happened: Brady was under pressure early and threw an early int, defense starts to slip and let the other team back in the game, one of the no name JAG WR is having the game of his life on us, and we let Lynch ran for over 100 yds with a TD, plus Wilson was making plays using his legs. On top of that, another miracle catch happened again on us. When that incredible catch happened, I was literally crying. I am going though some tough times in life myself, and I thought "oh no not again, maybe it is meant to be, the demon is on us." But what happened in the next minute taught me a very good lesson: in order to exorcise your inner demons, one must live though the demons time and times again, until we are able to acquire enough knowledge and power to overcome them, no God or luck is ever going to be there for us, it is up to us to overcome the demons, and no, there is no way to avoid them, once the demons are there, they will always come back to bite us unless we find a way to overcome it.

4. Butler showed us how to overcome the demons on that int. First of all, he didn't let the lucky catch get into his mind, when that happened, if I were him at that moment, all I could think about probably are different thoughts about how he will be in the patriots history as a bad spot, but he didn't. The biggest play before the game winning int was when we stop Lynch before the goal line and didn't call a TO, that changed the minds of seahawk's coaches and called a pass instead of another run. If you look at that slant pass play, in hindsight it was really 20/20, Wilson say the pick play and no one is covering Lockett anywhere near, easy walk in TD, so he didn't even bother to look into Butler's eyes in the far corner. With that being said, Butler got burned for a TD in a scout team practice against our backup QB Jimmy G back in training camp, and he saw that play coming his way, way before Wilson even released the ball. He jumped that route so hard, he knocked Lockett up in the air after he caught the int, and he is like a whole size smaller than Lockett! Safe to say that both Wilson and Lockett did not see that coming at all and was both very surprised that the corner sniffed that play out way before it was being played. What that tells us is that in order to exorcise the demons, we have to use a combination of hard work, intelligence, experience from past failures and a willingness of not giving up after huge setbacks.

5. And to say how stupid that play call was? Well you see, Pete and Bill shares a lot similarities, one of them is how they all embrace and love to take risks. However, Pete had a history of overtaking risks when there are absolutely no need for it. Living in the Los Angeles area, everyone and their uncle's first reaction after that gaming winning int was "USC Texas rosebowl 2006, Pete kept Reggie Bush on the sideline on 4th and 2". So yes, this kind of decision had happened before and burned him hard, and apparently he didn't learn his lesson and decided to overtake unnecessary risks at a very important time of the game.

6. Yes, Brady got his 4th ring and BB got his 6th, but it is still only our 4th championship of our franchise, we are still 2 short of the Steelers and another ring for Brady will not hurt his legacy. Think about it, how cool it is going to be that Brady win his 5th ring in the home of the 49ers, and maybe we can have Joe Montana present the trophy at that time. Just think about what that will mean for Brady, just think about that pats fans.

7. And let's not forget that two of our thrid string DBs won the superbowl for us this year. Harmon got the Ravens int to end the game, and Butler got the Seahawks int to end the game yesterday. See how important it is to have good role players, and yes, the Seahawks and the Patriots kinda showed the league yesterday how unimportant it is to waste your future on any first round picks. Real good players are found in the later, middle rounds, 2-4th round in the draft is gold yesterday, of course the underrated as well. It's not about where were you drafted in May, it is about how good an organization develops them. Just look at the spurs in the NBA, they have been doing what we were doing since the 1990s.

8. After last night's win, I can't stop having the thoughts of our players recruiting FAs this off season. When Montana and Elway was near retiring, a lot older veterans joined his ranks to ride off the sunset, in the hopes of winning a SB. Maybe we can do that as well? There are a lot of notable FAs this year, Revis already said he'd like to come back, but for anyone out there that wants to win a SB, isn't it the best time to join the Patriots and ride off the sunset of Brady's career? We can give them short term 2 year deals that is friendly to our salary cap, I have a vision we are going to be like Elway's broncos, winning back to back SBs.

Oh and at last, Malcom Butler is going to be on the roster next year, starting, period, I think we have all see enough of that kid this season to give him more time on the field. Congratulations Pats nation, this one is for Brady!

Reflections after thinking:

I now respect Pete Carroll more than I ever did. He had the presence of mind to understand that his team had as many as 3 attempts to score if he husbanded his time correctly, since he had only 1 timeout left.

Having 3 attempts available give a higher assurance of scoring than only 1 or 2 plays. Moreover the proper order was pass, then run, then call timeout, and full prepared last play, without hurry. Great presence of mind.

Irregardless of outcome. Great Strategy does not always work. After all Lynch could have Fumbled, just as the INT occurred. Lynch does have a fumbling history and Wilson had not had a turnover and might even scramble for a score.

The Pats Coaches had prepared the Team for the correct Defense against the Pick play. Indeed Butler had failed in practice, and it was re-practiced until it was defended correctly. BB Coaching and Preparation is Superior.

BB seems to have a much longer Training Camp than others. It lasts from preseason through all regular season. He constantly adds to this Team's repetoire, so they can be adaptable, no matter the weekly changing Gameplan.

I suspect Ridley will be re-signed or a premium RB secured, to add to the RBBC. Despite Grays one very good game, he is apparently too limited to see much playing time.

There will be investments in interior Offensive linemen to upgrade the squad. I might expect a Defensive line investment too.

My thought on the stupidity of the call was that Belichick baited him into that call by getting the beef out there (8 linemen and linebackers, just 3 DBs)

He basically dared Pete to 1) call timeout to match with his goalline O; or 2) call a pass play.

So people saying we had dumb luck are selling not only Butler short, but also Belichick.

Another thought that maybe I haven't heard is that suddenly I am not so down on Amendola as being worthless. He is overpaid, for sure, but he was a handy chess piece to have, last night

He alone won us the first Jets game and pretty much did the same in the second. No HFA without that. Then the Ravens game, the Colts game and the huge TD in this game.

He has proven himself to be worth every penny he is being paid if he continues to play like this. And I would rather him do it when it counts like he did.

The call was not stupid. However, we should thank the Seahawks for having to burn the timeout right after the 2 minute warning. If they hadn't done that, it would have been Lynch running 3 more times.

I had a feeling that he was bought here to be more or less like Jule's role on offense, but then Jule did it do well, Amendola's role kinda faded to the back.

To some posters up there, I think we still need to upgrade our pass rush, and running game, last night those 2 were lacking big time, we still couldn't run the ball, and pass rush was not there, the sacks were coverage sacks not pure pressure.
