Mod Edit: Seahawks Fan Here To Make Pathetic Excuses For His Team

I think people here have covered everything already, so I'll just add that Seattle was an even bigger loser than Katy Perry last night.

I gather you bet on the wardrobe malfunction? Just let the bitterness go.

I wish I could hit the "agree" button about 10 more times on this one.

And they did. Ugh.

I wish I was a believer in moral victories but I don't. History is written by the victors. One stupid decision, a little luck, and we'll have to endure years of Patriot fan gloating. This is particularly bitter for me because I lived in Cleveland and was a huge Browns fan as a kid when they lost to Denver in the '88 AFC Championship Game because of "the fumble." They were the better team and Denver proved it by going to the Superbowl and getting their asses kicked by Washington. At least with the "fumble" it was a reasonable football play that just went wrong. Yesterday was a dumb football play that cost Seattle the Superbowl. Ouch.

I can think of a lot of coulda shoulda's. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't in its weakest condition since early season. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't further weakened when they lost last year's Superbowl MVP in the first quarter to injury. I wish our starting defensive end didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...followed by two touchdown drives by the Patriots. I wish our coach called for a run instead of a pass. Any one of those would have probably made the difference in the game.

It's definitely hard to swallow. The Seahawks held the Patriots to 57 yards rushing. The Seahawks rushed for 162 yards. They intercepted Brady twice. As I predicted yesterday, the Seahawks were the tougher team. On any normal day the Seahawks win with those numbers.

But they weren't the smarter team...at least in the last meaningful play of the game.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to really congratulate the Patriots. I admire the hell out of Brady for leading the Patriots comeback in the 4th quarter against Seattle's depleted defense. I admire what's his name who made the interception to win the game...nice defensive play on an historically stupid offensive play. I admire the Patriots secondary shutting down Seattle's middling receivers for about half the game. I admire Belichick for being an ornery *******. But overall I say, lucky win but still counts.

See you next year and hope the results are what they should have been yesterday--the best team winning the game.

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)
I am sure you have taken your sorry little ass out of this forum long ago, but before you start *****ing about injuries anymore, do the names Ridley and mayo mean anything to you?

Hey, we know all too well how it feels to lose the SB at the last minute. Kudos for coming back.

Did I miss something?

Your DE got injured by a running back laying him out. Not sure how the Seahawks were "tougher"...(?) The quarterback of the defense played with a torn labrum and still made the tackle that forced that 2nd and goal that led to the interception. Apparently the Patriots were not aware that they weren't as physical as the Hawks.

And if Seattle had scored there, that wouldn't have been a lucky win? The only reason you were even in the red zone was because of miraculous catch on a pass that was knocked away. It's a 60 minute game.

What's up with this Seahawks gave it away horseshit? The ******ed catch by that no name WR was pure luck. Wilson throwing a pick was just a great play by the DB.

Rather than start a new thread.......Seattle opened at 5:1 to win next year's SB with the Pack and Pats next both at 6:1. Sorry but that's a suckers bet. There's no way the Hawks are going back.

1. The distension of losing that way started before they even got off the field.
2. That smaller fast defense started to sustain a lot of injuries which is part of playing all those extra games two straight years.
3. Paying Wilson in addition to a lot of the guys they've already paid means more players won't be signed cutting into their depth and talent. See Red Bryant.
4. They lost their DC which I'll admit shouldn't be huge with Pete there but I'm sure Bill would say the first year without Romeo was difficult.
5. If they pay Lynch a huge extension they're crazy. He's hitting that age where RBs fall off. They do and that's more players they won't be able to sign.
6. Their division will only be better next year.

I'm terribly sorry to inform you, but you are an idiot for posting that tripe.

Your team was THOROUGHLY outplayed in that 1st half. That should have been at least a 17-7 patriots lead at that point. Brady threw an ill advised pick in the red zone, which was worse than the Wilson pick (the Wilson pick was predicated on a GREAT play by the CB - - not a center field catch like the Brady INT). Also the 2nd Seattle TD was a gift from the Pats not playing to win, but not to lose with 31 seconds to go in the 2nd quarter. A GIFT that you don't even recognize in your sorrow.

Your "Greatest Defense in History" had a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter against a 37 year old QB.

Grow up and own it.

You Seahawks fans are still newbies and not ready for primetime. That is not your fault. We were there several Super Bowls ago also. We felt "jipped" by Tyree's catch and then Manningham's catch and saw deja vu in the Kearse catch. 3 SB's in a row - - 3 improbable catches in the last 2 minutes.

BTW, you are a RANK HYPOCRITE if you wrote that without smirking about your NFC Championship "victory".

Your team did NOT have to deal 2 weeks with the greatest media storm ever levied on an American sports team in history. Your head coach did NOT have to devote 3 days of what should have been focused preparation on a contrived scandal.

Your team had all the advantages, a closer SB locale and 80% of the fans in attendance.

Mflint, does your mommy cut your hamburger for you too?

The Patriots OVERCAME circumstance.

THAT is what greatness is.

Get the F out of here with your excuse laden ********.

Your entire passing game is comprised of chucking it up and hoping your receiver comes down with it. There's no talent or skill there. Meanwhile Brady carved your vaunted secondary like a thanksgiving turkey. You got every bounce last night including the most horseshoe up your ass reception in Super Bowl history to get you on the 5 yard line and you're gonna come in here with half assed excuses and backhanded compliments?

I agree, with the previous poster. GFY.

I guess your definition of "luck" differs from mine. Luck is getting completely outplayed for 55 minutes and then winning a game because the other team stopped playing (Green Bay). That is luck. The Patriots did not win because of "luck" yesterday. They won because they were the better team. If the Patriots were lucky yesterday, Seattle wouldn't have caught a bomb circus reception from a guy on his back with a tipped ball that was bouncing off limbs. If the Patriots were lucky yesterday, Lane would have dropped the INT and the Patriots would have kicked a field goal. If the Patriots were lucky yesterday, they would have intercepted any number of Wilson's Jump Ball Joe bombs.

The Patriots won because they wore Seattle's defense down. They won because they had 72 offensive plays for 33:46 minutes. They won because they were 3 of out 4 in the Red Zone. They won because they forced Seattle to punt 6 times and the only way Seattle was able to consistently move the ball was 40 yard bombs down the field. But more importantly, they won because the GOAT QB tore through Seattle's secondary for 328 yards and 4 TDs. Thats not luck.

So much for the best defense ever discussion.

"Congratulations on the win. I was really disappointed because we came so close to winning at the end there, but the Seahawks didn't convert a big opportunity and the Patriots made the big play when it counted. Hope to see you in the Super Bowl again next year."

You would think that's the hardest thing in the world to say.

I love how the "tougher team" can't get it into the endzone when it counts.

Here's what I have said in the past when the Giants beat the Patriots and I was posting on other team's boards:

The Giants deserved to win, congratulations.

I didn't ***** and moan about injuries, about lucky catches and talk about how we were really the more talented or tougher team.

Count me as one of the people who don't think it was a dumb play. There were 26 seconds on the clock, Carroll had one timeout, and he wanted three shots at the end zone in case he needed them. So one of the plays needed to be a pass. Belichick gave him the look he wanted on the pass by bringing in the jumbo goal line package.

Also keep in mind that Lynch was just 1-5 in converting from the 1 yard line this season.

Butler made the pick because he diagnosed the play because the Pats coaching staff coached him on the Seahawk's tendency to run this in practice. It was brilliant defense.

So it wasn't a dumb play at all. It was a reasonable play that went wrong, and then the idiot media looking for a scapegoat after calling it dumb.

A moment before that, Seattle had to burn a time out because they wouldn't line up on time, and that was important because had they have 2 TOs, they would have called a run again.

This guy is a clown.

There are times in every game that you can change history. If they complete that third down on the 20 at 24/14 they likely win...if we don't convert our 3rd downs on the 24-14 drive, they likely win.

You have to grab your opportunity with both hands. That's how winning is done.

As a Seahawk fan, I understand he has never experienced pain as he will be a bandwagon jumper who won't even know who their previous QB before Wilson was.

We have had our bad days in 42 and 46...you just need to suck it up and not be a *****.

Thanks for stopping by, and go **** yourself, loser.

I hope this loss gives you nine ulcers.

Whats the record for the most dislikes/disagrees on a thread? This one might take the trophy :p

This guy talks about a depleted defense and it makes me laugh. Did they not just almost lose a game to a team who's QB was playing on only one leg?

Dumbass.

What I love about sports, and why I still play as I near 60, is that team competition is a way to take a measure of character.

That goes for fans, too.

You see? Character.

Go find some.

Wait, let me get this straight.... so now the Seahwaks secondary is depleted and banged up? All week long, all I heard from you Seahawks trash talkers is how these injuries are nothing and Shermit and Chancellor are good to go...

So now, they got their asses handed to them, and they are depleted and banged up?

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear you sound like you're making excuses....
