Hightower played with a torn labrum

He played through a torn labrum yesterday.. He'll be having surgery in the next few weeks to fix it..

Pretty amazing, all things considered..

We needed him. Toughness is always good to see in players. He is going to be paid for that though in the next 2 years.

That is pretty damn impressive. I didn't notice his play dip at all.

Damn. He was a beast this year, can only imagine him fully healthy. Our lb's are top 5 in the league IMO. Gonna be huge getting Mayo back. Hopefully we resign Ayers and Casillas.

Tough SOB. I credit Thomas for playing hard last night too. Shoulder injuries are painful.

Wow. My respect for him went further up. Kudos for the grit and silent strength.

Hightower-Collins are going to be an unbelievable duo next year.

Glad this was not known to me before the game. The run up to the SB was bad enough already.

He saved our season with that one good arm by getting Lynch on goal to go from the 5.

He stepped up just as much as Collins when Mayo went down. Feel like Collins has been more heralded, but I've been a Hightower fan since they drafted him.

His goal line stop on Lynch is the play the few people talk about when it pertains to the outcome, but it was absolutely just as big Butler's because without it, they never get the chance to make the interception. The fact that he was able to shed Okung and making the play on Lynch in the situation is a testament to this kid's will to win.

I hope he's with this team for the next decade. Dont'a has been a consummate professional since day 1 here, and looks like he will be the new age in the line of great Patriots linebackers along with Collins. What a steal this guy was.

Fairly certain this happened vs Green Bay.

Need to get a hightower jersey.

When did he tear his labrum?
