Mod Edit: Seahawks Fan Here To Make Pathetic Excuses For His Team

Way to man up.

However, lucky? Think back to the play moments before that put them on the 5 instead of the 50. That was fluky, lucky and the only thing that made that last pass even a discussion point. The Hawks were lucky to even be in a position to win. Be sad, but be realistic.

As for your D, they had vulnerabilities all year and the Pats went at those weaknesses with the right game plan. Your team was compared to the 85 Bears right before this game, so the "depleted secondary" claim is a weak excuse. The Hawks have a great D, but the secondary is bigger and better designed for larger, not as quick receivers. They lost because of the matchups. Injury claims didn't work for the Pats in 2007 and 2012, and don't work for the Hawks now.

Like you are not having Nightmares with "what's his name" name. I know you can't stop shivering when you hear the name Butler

And they did. Ugh.

I wish I was a believer in moral victories but I don't. History is written by the victors. One stupid decision, a little luck, and we'll have to endure years of Patriot fan gloating. This is particularly bitter for me because I lived in Cleveland and was a huge Browns fan as a kid when they lost to Denver in the '88 AFC Championship Game because of "the fumble." They were the better team and Denver proved it by going to the Superbowl and getting their asses kicked by Washington. At least with the "fumble" it was a reasonable football play that just went wrong. Yesterday was a dumb football play that cost Seattle the Superbowl. Ouch.

I can think of a lot of coulda shoulda's. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't in its weakest condition since early season. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't further weakened when they lost last year's Superbowl MVP in the first quarter to injury. I wish our starting defensive end didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...followed by two touchdown drives by the Patriots. I wish our coach called for a run instead of a pass. Any one of those would have probably made the difference in the game.

It's definitely hard to swallow. The Seahawks held the Patriots to 57 yards rushing. The Seahawks rushed for 162 yards. They intercepted Brady twice. As I predicted yesterday, the Seahawks were the tougher team. On any normal day the Seahawks win with those numbers.

But they weren't the smarter team...at least in the last meaningful play of the game.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to really congratulate the Patriots. I admire the hell out of Brady for leading the Patriots comeback in the 4th quarter against Seattle's depleted defense. I admire what's his name who made the interception to win the game...nice defensive play on an historically stupid offensive play. I admire the Patriots secondary shutting down Seattle's middling receivers for about half the game. I admire Belichick for being an ornery *******. But overall I say, lucky win but still counts.

See you next year and hope the results are what they should have been yesterday--the best team winning the game.

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)

> Interesting to hear so many say the 'only reason the Patriots won was luck'.
>
> They easily won time of possession, and number of first downs. Seattle had a total of 12 completions for the game. Any idea how many total return yards (KO and PUNT combined), Seattle had for the game? Answer: 3.>
> The Patriots scored 28 pts on Seattle, and it would have been more if not for the int in the end zone. Finally, Seattle would not have even been in a position to score at the end, if it wasn't for that freak catch, while the guy was on his back on the ground. Oh, and by the way, OUR GUY intercepted the ball, at the end.

> People act like the other 59 minutes of the game didn't even happen.

Whinny excuse making Seachicken...can't just say "congrats" ... I hate it when anyone does it...Pats fan or opponent... you lose, you own it... you don't blame the refs, fluke plays, or anything else.

Is it really owning up when you make excuse after excuse?Kudos for making the attempt, half-hearted and passive aggressive as it might have been.

Exactly. The national airwaves are dominated today by excuses, blaming, knee jerk uninformed analysis...anything to avoid giving the Patriots credit. Just like this post.

Butler's play was a perfect example of why the Patriots are a better team and organization than Seattle. You will never see at Patriots coach or player gloating on the sideline with a 10 point lead in a game, like Carroll and his players were last night. Ever. As soon as Seattle got that lead, they relaxed a little bit, and Brady & Co. killed them with the two drives. It was perfect team football. And it wouldn't have mattered which players Seattle put on the field.

Next time you guys lose, spare us and don't come back with your classless *****fest. Your team lost. Deal with it. Funny you didn't mention how you backed into the game in the first place because of some incredibly stupid plays by GB.

Now off to the pro shop to order my gear....

Normally, I'd be pissed at how terrible of a sportsman you appear in this passive aggressive nonsense. But for some reason (cough, cough, WE WON THE SUPER BOWL, cough, cough), I just can't bring myself to be upset about anything :D

Seattle is a classless team....enjoy your NFC championship...

Okay, the coulda shoulda woulda claims are so weak it's ridiculous. Come here and complain about injuries and fluke plays during a SB loss? Please. That's weak game if you're talking to Patriots fans who've seen that ALL happen before.

Seattle and the Patriots are very close in terms of quality. The Patriots took the best shot the Seahawks had and made the plays that won the game, just look at the 14 unanswered points in the 4th Q. Seattle didn't capitalize on their last drive? Boo-hoo. 4Q comebacks aren't a guarantee, even if you are 2nd and goal on the 1. Brady and the Patriots offense CARVED your precious L.O.B. up when the game was on the line, and took the lead with a TD instead of settling for a weak game tying FG like a team like GB might have. Speaking of which, you're just this week's Green Bay fans crying over Mike McCarthy not utilizing their MVP Aaron Rodgers the right way... just replace McCarthy with Carroll and Rodgers with Lynch.

Anyways, enjoy your franchise - the front office does very well in collecting defensive talent and that's great for you. You guys may have a chance to keep winning, but you never know. Look at the 2008 Patriots in the 1st Quarter of the 1st game of the season. The point is, being all proud of yourself to come back here after a loss and then making guarantees about the "best team" winning next time is pretty rich, given that all you've done is pile up excuses for why Seattle isn't wearing fun new T-shirts to the parade tomorrow, and Boston is.

No need to make excuses here for Patriots fans - funny how that works when the better team wins.

That was weird. I always come to read these type of messages because they are always classy and the opposing fan is gracious... What was this ? A very bizarre post.

Is there anyone out there tired of "the best team didn't win" BS ? A team wins. That tea either made more big plays or key big plays at important times. I do not give a rat's *** about "the best team" on paper. I want the score to be in NE's favour. That's it. Win.

This was a ridic post. Why even come back ?

Nobody gave two ****s when Brady and Gronk were injured in our 2011 Superbowl, or when Gronk + our entire starting defense was on IR for last year's AFC Championship game, so don't expect us to give a rats ass about your "elbow strains."

All I can offer you is a sad violin

Don't feel bad. You're 1-1 in Superbowls since having a fan base

How long did it take you to write this? Because you put a great deal of effort into making a complete ass of yourself. You could've just written, "I'm a dumb ass sore loser" and been done with it.

A simple "Good game hopefully we can see you in the SB next year" would have sufficed.

This is just pathetic. You are complaining about 'what Ifs' the the wrong crowd here after what we had to suffer through in our last 2 Superbowl Losses

Did Pats fans whine and ***** this much after the infamous 4th and 2 call? That Hawks bandwagon has got an awful rickety backend with the whining and finger-pointing going on. Belichick took a gamble at the end by not calling the timeout and forcing the Hawks to win or lose right there. He gambled that he had the more disciplined team. He was right. On the interception and then on the goal line encroachment call. The regiment beat the mob.
