And they did. Ugh.

I wish I was a believer in moral victories but I don't. History is written by the victors. One stupid decision, a little luck, and we'll have to endure years of Patriot fan gloating. This is particularly bitter for me because I lived in Cleveland and was a huge Browns fan as a kid when they lost to Denver in the '88 AFC Championship Game because of "the fumble." They were the better team and Denver proved it by going to the Superbowl and getting their asses kicked by Washington. At least with the "fumble" it was a reasonable football play that just went wrong. Yesterday was a dumb football play that cost Seattle the Superbowl. Ouch.

I can think of a lot of coulda shoulda's. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't in its weakest condition since early season. I wish the Seahawks secondary wasn't further weakened when they lost last year's Superbowl MVP in the first quarter to injury. I wish our starting defensive end didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...followed by two touchdown drives by the Patriots. I wish our coach called for a run instead of a pass. Any one of those would have probably made the difference in the game.

It's definitely hard to swallow. The Seahawks held the Patriots to 57 yards rushing. The Seahawks rushed for 162 yards. They intercepted Brady twice. As I predicted yesterday, the Seahawks were the tougher team. On any normal day the Seahawks win with those numbers.

But they weren't the smarter team...at least in the last meaningful play of the game.

Sorry, I can't bring myself to really congratulate the Patriots. I admire the hell out of Brady for leading the Patriots comeback in the 4th quarter against Seattle's depleted defense. I admire what's his name who made the interception to win the game...nice defensive play on an historically stupid offensive play. I admire the Patriots secondary shutting down Seattle's middling receivers for about half the game. I admire Belichick for being an ornery *******. But overall I say, lucky win but still counts.

See you next year and hope the results are what they should have been yesterday--the best team winning the game.

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)

i think you have a different idea of "fun" than most of us here do. ;)

That "stupid playcall" only happened because of 1 of the luckiest catches in NFL history got you to that point. Seahawks fans realize that, right? And also realize Butler made an incredible play on the INT? 98 times out of 100 that pass is either incomplete or a TD.

It wasn't a lucky win. Seahawks were lucky to have a shot at winning the game from the 1 yard line - something they didn't even deserve.

PS: Kearse's catch made Tyree's look like it was pure skill.

We don't really need you congratulations here anyway. Thanks for being stand up and coming by though.

I do think a lot of fans know the pain your going through though if it makes you feel any better which I'm sure it doesn't.

Count me as one of the people who don't think it was a dumb play. There were 26 seconds on the clock, Carroll had one timeout, and he wanted three shots at the end zone in case he needed them. So one of the plays needed to be a pass. Belichick gave him the look he wanted on the pass by bringing in the jumbo goal line package.

Also keep in mind that Lynch was just 1-5 in converting from the 1 yard line this season.

Butler made the pick because he diagnosed the play because the Pats coaching staff coached him on the Seahawk's tendency to run this in practice. It was brilliant defense.

So it wasn't a dumb play at all. It was a reasonable play that went wrong, and then the idiot media looking for a scapegoat after calling it dumb.

With all the respect in the world, GFY.

You are as classless as your self-proclaimed best CB in the game.

Your Kearse's catch was not luck?
Your team fought as the result was determined was not classless?

Karma is bxxch. We were the victims of two narrow losses. NOW SUFFER IT.

Wait till your team make Wilson the highest paid QB in NFL and your team starts to lose key members of the D and your team goes 8-8 and you can THEN GFY AGAIN.

Your fellow fans left the game early prior to the SB. This showed how Great your guys are. Your team should not even be in the SB if not for the "luck".

My advice? Switch back to being a Brownie's fan and GFY.

Our teams don't even play each other next year. Did you become a football fan one year ago to the day?

PS. It'll be fun to see how the Patriots fare in a year or two when Brady is done. ;-)

It'll be fun to see how you fare next year when your team drops $20mm a year on Russell Wilson and your entire defense is gone.

Way to lose gracefully, ****weed.

Good luck when trying to field a competitive team when Wilson gets his new contract, and it was Malcolm Butler who made the game winning, sorry, Super Bowl winning intereception.

Try to have some class.

You got a whole year to learn, and hopefully you don't get more angry and irritated wondering if your team will still be at this good level once you guys pay Russell what he deserves.

Lucky win? How about that Tyree-like lucky catch by Kearse to even put them that close? Seahawks blew a ten point lead. Don't cry injuries, the Pats dealt with that in many big games, namely Gronk for starters. Next man up is the answer to injuries. How deep are the Seahawks to deal with injuries? Not too deep apparently. The season is a war of attrition. Pats have great backup players. Lynch ran the ball five times this season from the one yard line and only got in once. Carrol chose to pick on the rookie Butler and failed. It was a team win for the Pats which includes coaching and the Seahawks got outcoached.

And BTW, as to your implication that the best team didn't win -- that's just absurd. The only reason the Seahawks were in that game was because of miracle circus catches made by receivers who had never before caught a pass in the NFL. The Pats pretty much dominated three of the four quarters.

There are a few things I could take issue with, but I'll let it slide today. I don't know how I'd do, going to our opponents' messageboard, on the day after a devastating loss.

I give you kudos for showing up like you did.

As for Pats fans gloating, I can only speak for myself, but I have great respect for the Seahaks. They like to chirp a bit but that isn't a deal killer for me.

If you check the threads today you'll find our venom directed elsewhere, and after the miserable, and unwarranted crap the media and NFL put us through. it is well justified.

Hope the Pats and Seahawks can meet again in next year's Superbowl.

So you came here to make excuses and act like a loser? Interesting choice.

Speaking of lucky I guess you forgot that the Seahawks were lucky to even be playing yesterday. Deep down...you know it really should have been the Packers representing the NFC.

You'll also get no sympathy from us for the injury excuse in the Super Bowl. Nobody gave us any sympathy for Gronk taking a dirty hit and playing at 10% of his effectiveness the last time the Pats were in the SuperBowl. So why should we return the favor?

Did you know Brady threw for more yards on that SEA defense than any Seahawks opponent has since 2012?

Did you know that Richard Sherman has never played for a team that gave up 4 passing TD...until yesterday?

Excuses are for losers not winners. And the better team didn't lose yesterday. They won.
