I don't think there is really any doubt that Tom Brady is the GOAT.

If they can win the "one for the thumb" next year or year after......CASE CLOSED, no disputing he is GOAT. Definitely we can make a case now, but a 5th ring, and the debate is settled. And, believe me, I think Brady wants that badly (#5 that is). And, he still has a few more years to attain it.

He is already the GOAT (and I don't want to hear that anyone is a better reg season QB either he has by far the best reg season win % of any QB with > 100 starts). His story is still being written. I can see him being the first NFL QB with >30 playoff wins & >200 reg season wins.

Montana did not play quality opponents in the Super Bowl - 2X against an average Denver Broncos team and 2X against an average Bengals team. Brady beat the greatest show on turf and the legion of boom. Brady also won the super bowl his first season as a starter, it took Montana 3 years.

Agree. 1. Brady 2. Montana

Next tier? Elway, Manning, Unitas

I want the 5th, but the case really seems closed already.
Look at it another way, what argument can you make for anyone else?

If Manning comes back I'm sure the media will make a case in September and October but by January they'll be quiet as usual.

Duuuur Payton manning cuz uhhh durrr he makes better commercials and uhhh throws the most tds evah durrrr.

Brady is number 1 QB and its really not that close anymore. Also, as far as greatest football players of all time you can put him in the top 5 easily. A few more years of elite play and perhaps another ring (hopefully) and you can make a case he is the greatest football player of all time or at least 2nd greatest behind Rice maybe?. That should be something to shoot for now.

Brady has already proven he is the best. What he does for the rest of his career will just separate him even more from the pack. I think he can play at a high level for 5+ years!

At worst, he's tied for 1st with Montana.

Tim Hasselback thinks Manning is the greatest. ROTFLMAO.

The only possible debate left at this point for anyone who is remotely rational is Montana vs. Brady. And even that one seems pretty settled to anyone who isn't a hater.

Especially now that they are tied with 4 Super Bowls a piece, I don't see how losing 2 SBs is a demerit - it's additive to Brady's resume to have 6 conference titles, as AndyJohnson said. Brady has the edge now.

I think this win extended TBs career. Its a huge monkey off his back and he can relax and play with house money the rest of his career. No reason to think he can't win another.

Brady's the best. He's come through in each SB, even the ones the lost... SB42 he scored the go ahead TD for us with 2:30 minutes and the D blew the lead. SB46 he engineered a brilliant drive which shoul d have iced the game then Welker dropped the pass which Brady put where it needed to be then the D blew it again. In the wins, obviously he made the plays he needed to. He hasn't been perfect in these games (who is?) but obviously isn't going out there and tossing pick six'es and rolling over like another QB. I think he's earned the right to be called the greatest, but will probably need one more ring to really cement it amongst the haters.

As much as I love Brady, I always contended that Montana is the greatest ever. BUT, there are arguments both ways. Montana had some of greatest offensive weapons ever (Jerry Rice for several years) , he never had to deal with a salary cap, so his team can stay together for many years. Had some very good defenses, and played some mediocre teams in the SB. Brady had some good defenses, and arguably the greatest coach ever. But I will say, Brady had done more with less than any QB ever. And the stats listed above are not arguable. He's the greatest QB EVER. And having been a Pat's fan since 1975, it's shocking to be able to say that.

Tim Hasselback thinks Manning is the greatest. ROTFLMAO.

Hey I have no problem with what Hasselbeck said. He's basically saying what we all knew and that is how Manning really is the greatest regular season QB of all time. When you want regular season stats and fantasy numbers, Manning is your man.

At worst, he's tied for 1st with Montana.
But thats the point. He is tied in rings and better in every other metric. It can't be a tie, because Brady is tied or better in everything, and better by a good amount in many.

Was listening to WEEI earlier and Tim "how did I get this job" Hasselback was on. It is absolutely hysterical to hear guys now still saying Manning is the greatest
