It was not just his INT; he had play after play where he broke up passes. He was the answer on the other side from Revis and the Seachickens could not figure him out. He had a HUGE game even without the INT. He was fearless and went right up for every pass. Defensive MVP I would think, at least.

Just another training camp phenom.

Agreed. When they were struggling in the secondary early I said to my dad that they should get Butler more involved, I thought he might do well. My dad didn't know who Butler was, I explained his background, then Butler came on and started producing, and ultimately secured the game winner.

My dad thinks I'm a football genius now :D

Arrington was getting abused. Butler is clearly the future as the 3rd corner on this team

The shady, smart trip was huge too to get Brady the ball back down 24-21 too.

I don't know if Butler will go the way of KT & Sterling Moore, but one would have to think he'd be in contention for more playing time next year.

Poor Arrington, he did not have a very good game.

It was Ryan that was burned as well

Leave out the INT, and there's no way he's defensive MVP over Revis. But including it -- yeah, you may be right.
Without the interception, many folks would be (wrongly) blaming Butler for not batting down the pass that put the seahawks in scoring position.

The guy who missed an opportunity on that play was Harmon. Yes, you jump over the guy to avoid a roughness call. But if he'd dived over him low, he could have swept the ball out of the way.

A rookie....making this big of an impact in a SB...is amazing to see

No doubt Butler played big boy football today all around.

Definitely a keeper and if he has a 2 year jump look out.

Arrington and Ryan, much maligned (and often with reason) had made a few key plays down the stretch. Today, they were scaring me. Butler. Wow. To not only break up the play. To seal the SB. Wow.

Supposedly a FA as of 30 min ago, though.

He even had good coverage on that miracle catch that feel into Kearse's hands.

Wilson wanted the glory and fame. Too much hollywood and commercials went to his head. He wanted to be the hero QB, instead he became the bum. All he had to do was hand it off or run himself.

He played like this in the preseason too. Very exciting to see a guy come out during a Super Bowl. The Seattle rookie receiver was taken out of the game after Browner switched.. that looked like the 'out of nowhere' guy until Arrington was switched out. Brilliant coaching from a brilliant coach.

Do you honestly think he went off the reservation and called that on his own? I don't.
