The Broncos are pathetic

DT was the only player on the Broncos roster who showed up against Seattle in the Superbowl. The rest of them saw Peyton sulking and they curled up and quit. DT also played that game with an injured shoulder IIRC.

Drop Amendola and give his money to DT. Our offense would be ridiculous because that's two players (Gronk and DT) that need double-team attention.

DT has been Peyton's blanky for 3 years. He's the one that beat the Steelers in the playoffs (not Tebow), and his YAC are just ridiculous and have made Manning look miles better than he actually is the entire time Peyton has been wearing orange.

It doesn't sound like DT has any intention of returning to Denver. If we sign him, we have a real shot at regaining our `best-offense-ever` title in 2015, and it would be hilarious to see Peyton try to do anything without pro-bowl offensive talent carrying him next year. Denver's offense will be a train wreck without DT.

It sounds to me like he wants to play for a real team, with a real QB.

NE is the place to do that

If Thomas hits free agency (which is unlikely), the Pats will never pay for him. Someone is going to give him a ridiculous contract. I bet the Jets will because Woody Johnson will want to make a splash this offseason after the disaster of last year. If D Thomas hits free agency, he will be the highest paid non-QB offensive player in the league. He is likely to get $17 plus million a year (Megatron gets $16.2 million a year).

He and Dez are getting paid this offseason. No way DT takes less than 10 mill/yr. That's nowhere near what NE would be willing to pay for him.

Neither player's agent is picking up the phone for offers of $10 million a year. They won't even entertain offers for less than $16 million a year. Megatron and Fitzgerald both make over $16 million a year. So that is the starting point.

I remember posting in the game thread that day that they were shook. Then Pot Roast came out with his false bravado a few weeks later when it was becoming apparent to the world that Manning, and the team has a whole, was a shell of their former versions. I can't remember who said it, but I heard an interview yesterday (think it was Chatham), and the person was saying how Brady on the Broncos would be 19-0. LOL

It almost sounded like he is on his way out...we know JT is but DT too? Den can't afford that

I wouldn't mind returning the favor and poaching a WR off Denver. (They can keep WW, lol.) Maybe his stock is down after that sorry, gutless playoff performance.

Welker is as tough as they come. It's really ironic you would criticize him thread about toughness but would want the ones who fear the Patriots.

The numbers says otherwise, you might want to go over his playoff stats.
Respect, but big stats don't always tell the story. Go back and look at his stats in the Patriots game and then re-watch the Patriots game. You'll understand.

I wonder if he wants to leave. He knows that Manning is either done or close to being done with no legitimate successor. He knows he will get his money no matter where he goes. He will likely want to play for a good to great QB on a team that is either a contender or on the rise while the Broncos look to be in rebuild mode with a new head coach and a QB unsure if he is coming back.

No thanks. Spend the money to keep this team together. If they keep their own and add a couple of pieces in the draft we will be spending this weekend doing the same thing next year.

We had guys talking, the night before the game, 'I don't want to go to New England and play New England.'

Wow.

The way they (particularly Peyton) were playing at the end, can you really blame them? If Brady was playing that same way, the Patriots wouldn't want any part of Seattle.

I value him at no more than $2-3 million per year though.

I hope he takes the money and runs

Hey bud, I'm guessing you quoted the wrong post - I didn't say anything about Welker's toughness. (If anything, I thought it was pretty clear I was referencing how proud the Broncos were of themselves for poaching our star WR.)

But to your point: yes, I would prefer 2015 DT to 2015 WW.

Demaryius Thomas career vs the pats:

2011 reg season- 7 catches, 116 yds

2012 playoffs- 6 catches 93 yds

Keep in mind both of those games above were with tebow

2012 reg season- 9 catches 180 yds, 1 fumble

2013 reg season- 4 catches 41 yds, 1 td

2014 playoffs- 7 catches 134 yds, 1 td

2014 reg season- 7 catches 127 yds

And yes I did watch all these games. No I'm not just looking at box scores

There are an abundance of reasons denver falls apart in big games, especially games against the patriots. DT isn't really one of those reasons. As stated by others, he was by far Denver's best player in the SB, and really thier only player to even show up.

The only real knock on DT is that SOMETIMES not always, he doesn't play as physically as he can for a guy his size, but that doesn't mean he's not a big game player. He's physicality is inconsistent. He's still a top 5 WR in the game (calvin, Aj green, Julio jones, dez, Dt in no particular order)

As for where he goes? I would absolutely love to have him here, he would make this offense even more lethal if that's even possible. Unfortuanely just knowing the way the patriots do business, combined with DT rumored asking price, there's a 0% chance he signs here. Maybe in a perfect world, but not reality.

I personally think he lands in Indy. Great fit for both sides IMO

Peyton Manning is a locker room cancer. He took a team talented and hungry enough to make the Divisional Round with Tebow running around 35 yards behind the line of scrimmage like a chicken with no head, and basically just killed them in his quest for stats. No heart, no fire, no determination, no grit.

Now their entire team wants to leave.

A Denver rebuild SHOULD have looked like a simple moving on from the QB position. Instead it might look like rats fleeing a sinking ship, and all their homegrown McDaniels-drafted super-talent will be hitting the road and trying to get the hell out of there.

lolololololololol

That would be an excellent spot for him. He could take over Wayne's role.

Is he really gettimg megatron money. Is that not slightly over pricing him. Im guessing 12-13 per year.

DT wasn't the only one to show up to the Super Bowl. Wes Welker did as well. Of course, Welker is a former Patriot so he learned not to give up no matter what from the best. Sucks for him that he joined a bunch of quitters.
