Bruschi Breakdown :Pats vs Seahawks

The 2007 Giants had 52 sacks, that would have been second most this year. The Seahawks are 20th in the league with 37. As the Seahawks faced the fewest passes in the league, on a sack/attempt basis you can add 3 sacks to get them to 40. That's still a long way from 52.

The Giants were LARGER. (Pun intended)

I don't think Tedy really expects the Pats to win; he's making what in his mind is a homer pick.

That said, I think he has a defender's bias. I expect the Pats to pull more rabbits out of their hats on offense than the last few years of the playoffs would seem to suggest is likely.

I think this game will be painful for all Patriots and Fans if the outcome is not what we hope...

Nothing and I mean Nothing will compare to the end of the 2007 season......
Let's be optimistic...

It all starts with something we haven't seen a lot of... the base defense. If they play nickel all game like they did against Baltimore where Justin Forsett torched us and for whatever reason we didn't cover backs out of the backfield, Seattle will just run the ball and throw check downs all game while we defend the deep ball....

Teams like Kansas City, NY Jets, Baltimore have had success running left directly at Chandler Jones.

I hope we play with a lot more size up front, sneak 8 into the box, and make it a priority to stop the run.

I can't even decide who Revis should cover... Baldwin? Lockette? Kearse?

If we can stop the run including Russell Wilson... good things will happen.

Agreed. That was the worst thing ever. I was a kid in 1985 and that was painful (stupid kid, what was I thinking!) but 2007 was the worst. My daughter was just 4 and fell asleep after the patriots scored to go up 14-10. For about a month after that game, she would ask me every morning if the Patriots won. Painful. Just painful.

They were and Brady even mentioned that in the 2011 game, where he said it was like throwing over trees.
