OT:Josh Gorden Calls Out Members of the Media

Obviously, I don't know how much of that was true and sincere, but it was a solid response to what people have been saying about him.

This is a very well written and compelling piece, except for the "inhaling the second hand smoke" part.

This kid needs the right environment. He has seemingly hit rock bottom and seems to be taking a long look in the mirror. Does he change? who knows. But if and when he does I hope(will never happen) he looks in the mirror and sees himself with a flying elvis Helmet on.

First off Gordon is an idiot, he has a lottery ticket in his hand and is throwing it away.

Now saying that, I don't think the NFL should be testing for non-performance enhancing drugs. He tested positive for alcohol which is legal and does not make you a better player. Too me this is stupid.

Why, he said that the back up test showed that he was under the limit. You don't believe the back up test story? Or you don't believe you can be in a smoke filled room and have it affect a drug test? Why do you feel that if he was honest and forthcoming during the rest of the piece that he was being disingenuous regarding that.

Wow, you mean people aren't black-and-white caricatures? What a revelation.

I'm rooting for Gordon, like I root for everyone.

Mainly because I don't believe second hand smoke will make you test positive. Also, the fact that this is one of the go to BS excuses every 15 year old pimply kid uses (holding for a friend, didn't inhale etc.) makes me cringe.

Well conceived and well written...by his agent.

And yet, if someone smokes a cigarette in my presence I'm being subjected to harmful second hand smoke.

Josh Gordon was drinking.

But Jim Irsay can be drunk, drugged up and driving, and lose nothing.

What a wacky world we live in.

Barkley, Smith, etc do seem to have the story completely wrong. He's a selfish idiot and substance abuser, but not an addict. What he fails to understand is that drinking is fine, putting other people in danger with DWI is not.

No one can determine if someone is a substance abuser or an addict....and the person in question is the last one to know the difference. That's why it's called "denial".

I don't care who wrote it, hopefully it is true.

Fantastic! Had the right touch and didn't sheild away that he screwed up and appears contrite.

Loved the way he quotes each of those morons and takes them to task.

Good PR!!

How is it wacky? Irsay is the boss. Gordon is an employee. That's how the world works.

Also....I'm pretty sure you can't test positive for second hand smoking marijuana. I mean unless he's sitting in a clam baked car. But regardless, still very well written.

Only ex presidents are more convincing.

I don't know if everything he/his agent wrote is true, but if he did blow 0.01 above the legal limit, I think we can refrain from calling him a "selfish idiot and substance abuser". I've known many people to have gotten busted just barely over the legal limit and they were shocked/had no idea. They felt, acted, drove/etc perfectly fine. Driving after a couple drinks is extremely common and it can be extremely hard to tell if you are under/just over the limit. It's a completely random set limit that has no basis on an individuals ability to think/react. Let's not blow this out of proportion.

I agree that the league is full of hypocrisy. I can't get 10 minutes through a NFL game without getting Bud advertisement jammed down my throat (your beer sucks, more advertising isn't going to stop people from going to craft... real beer) but just barely blow over the limit and they put a Alcohol ban on you, regardless of what the actual legal system does? I think it's funny how now a player in Denver or Seattle can get penalized for smoking a substance that has now been decriminalized in those states. It's not a performance enhancing drug, so WTF? I think the league should just stay out of the personal lives of it's employees and let our judicial system do it's job...
