IMO, Mr. Kraft isn't going to {accept} any kind of punishment unless the league has evidence that an employee took air out of the balls. It is very important for him to protect his brand and stand up for him employees.

It wouldn't shock me if Mr. Kraft let it be known through private channels that if the Pats were punished with flimsy or no evidence of wrongdoing, it will cost Roger his job. To date Kraft has been one of Goodell's biggest supporters and if he turns, it could start a tidal wave ending with Roger updating his resume... That's my hope at least and in light of the presser earlier this week, it wouldn't shock me if Kraft does this in some form.

Come to think of it now...I NEVER liked this Supafly character here...as my Uncle Freddie used to tell me when I was a little Joe...

Meanwhile, back East, the in-depth investigation continues ...

Tunascribe, normally I love all of your posts, but this one comparing the NFL Goodell investigation to the Three Stooges is really over the line. An apology may be needed.

Hopefully those that run the estate of the Three Stooges are not the litigious type ;)

Just as an additional point, I asked Mike Reiss if Blandino said "with a gauge" or just "gauged." Mike says he just said gauge. That's why I think it's still open for debate. I think what you quoted may have been edited. Here's how it reads now.

Blandino said he couldn't get into many details with the investigation ongoing. Afterwards, in a side session with a handful of reporters, he said referee Walt Anderson "gauged" the footballs himself, which he has done throughout his career.
I take that to mean he used a guage. Or at least he is claiming that. Would not surprise me is some refs aren't anal about using a gauge, at least if you trust that ball boy from CHI claim. But I'm pretty sure Walt is claiming he did here.

it could also mean he "assessed" them. That's why I think it's still not clear.

Goodell's coming to address the media tomorrow. YEEEHAAAHHHWWW!!!!!

I think it's worth clarifying, that not only did the refs not write down the PSI pre-game, according to Howe, they didn't record the PSI at halftime. So no one has any idea if the pressure dropped by 1 PSI as result of the weather or 2 PSI as result of human intervention.

I hope Mort enjoyed his 15 minutes last week for being used like the chump that he is. This investigation needs to be closed immediately.

More importantly, Goodell has shown his vast incompetence one too many times and needs to be removed before he strikes again!

The damage is done, the NFL already ruled the balls were "underinflated" at this point nobody cares what the investigation finds. If it exonerates them it will be seen as a 180, and coverup.

You can't unring this bell.

I honestly think now this is just the biggest comedy of errors I have ever seen come out of the league office. And thats saying alot.

Imagine the following:

1. Balls are tested however before the game, they are all ok.
2. Indy gets one ball, and it has a low pressure.
3. The NFL ops guy decides the pats are at it again.
4. He has the refs test the balls at 1/2 time again, most of the pats balls are below the limit due to the weather. No psi's are logged.
5. Colts balls are ok, since they started out at the upper end of the range.
6. Colts file a normal, every day protest (It happens all the time, I don't see this as too nefarious).
7. After the game, some colts official contacts the reporter in Indy, "guess what, the pats were using underinflated balls, NFL is investigating).
8. ****storm.

Since no psi's are logged, numbers can be juiced by the "sources". The ref remembers one ball at 13.5, and one of the balls at 1/2 time was 11.5...so it had to be 2 psi for ~all~ the balls. Leaks that info. Someone else knows that they are probably not the same ball, and counters with his own understanding...more like 1 psi, cause they dont really know!!!

When the colts filed a complaint the matter should have ended then and there by saying the game balls are under the authority of the NFL. End of story. The very fact that an investigation was launched is extremely sketchy and it's only purpose could be to smear the pats. How no media member could see this is another disappointment.

I'm pretty sure BB has a dosier on Kensil that goes back to before Bill resigned from the Jets. I suspect Kensil may have been one of the reasons he did resign. That file would be a good starting point, along with electronic communications amongst Pagano, Irsay, Kensil and Harbaugh.

1997 when they tampered with Bill Parcells

2008 with the last minute bombshell of taping the Rams walk through (story originated in NY I believe)

2015 with Deflategate, with ex-Rat employee Mike Kensil involved in the sting

Just how many Superbowls, that they are not a participant in, is one jealous team or city allowed to **** up for us!!??

Whatever, this clown loves it. He knows this case is built on BS and rumor. It WAS a matter of time before they proved the psi change could be natural.

Now there's no way to ever prove ****. They'll just say the balls were "underinflated" but we can't prove why.

This is the best case scenario for them because they NEVER had a case. Now they can claim it just can't be proven. Huge win for team crybaby.

Has anyone clarified if the balls were inflated with a compressor or a manual pump? I ask because there is a major difference in the temp of the air filling the balls. Neil Degrasse Tyson insinuated that BB was full of it because the balls would have had to been inflated with 90 degree air (post correction). In his mind that seemed preposterous. There is a reason every manufacturing facility on the planet has chillers/dryers/after coolers in their airline after the compressor. The air comes out extremely warm. I have no idea how somebody as bright as Neil Degrasse Tyson would think the air filling these balls could not possibly have been that warm.

Also, the difference between using a compressor and a manual pump could also explain why one team's balls would deflate much more than the other team's. If the Pats use a compressor and the Colts manually inflated - mystery solved.
The refs would have used an electric pump. Thats what they did in the MMQB video and I believe what blandino even said.

Off topic (thank God), did you know that Jimmy Snuka actually (allegedly) murdered a girl back at the start of his career?

I never knew that until a week or two ago. I guess there wasn't enough evidence.

From what I read about that case, Vince McMahon leaned on the local DA to accept Snuka's explanation that the girl fell on her own and hit her head. That led to her death.

Just saw Felger on Sports Tonight. I want him run out of town on a rail, that smarmy cynical *******. Everyone else (Beetle included) agreeing that the NFL pretty much has no case, and he's over there sneering 'No no...I can't imagine that Patriots EVER cheating on rule like that, not them! Not the Patriots! They'd NEVER do that!'

**** him. Seriously.
