Felger and Mazz are auditioning for national jobs. That is the only reason I can think of that would make them thrash the team they're supposed to be covering for local fans. Felger has a shot at one because he's got National Douchebag talent, but Mazz is just a ferret faced weasel who 50 years ago would have had to make a living on a sidewalk, selling balloons

The main reason I don't get upset about what Mazz says is because he's a pitiful beta-male and you can tell by looking at him that his wife fantasizes about other men. lol.
