Aha! This is something interesting........

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Blandino said the referee does not log the PSI during the pregame ball check. They're either approved or disapproved.
This bears repeating, for emphasis:

......psssst.....maybe it's time for this billion dollar industry to employ full-time referees and not PT insurance executives..

They could probably cover the difference in pay just by fining three or four players for wearing the wrong socks.

Its gotten so much worse since Goodell took over.
This reminds me of corporations back in the 70's and 80's who had too many layers of management. These companies became so driven by profit that the many layers of management actually hindered them from operating properly. Too many people were given important management jobs without having the nuts and bolts understanding of that particular industry itself ... this is the current NFL .... IMO. Reactionary as opposed to functionally sound. It's easy to market the stars to make money ... it's hard to do the rest.

......which of course lends all the credibility in the world to the next statement:

Ben Volin ✔ @BenVolin
Blandino says that the NFL believes that the footballs were properly inflated and tested by Walt Anderson

.

Believes = doesn't know = has no idea, but after a week and a half of claiming that this is a HUGE deal, they sure as hell won't admit that their own officials didn't bother to check the ****ing ball pressure. It's becoming increasingly clear that this will have to go to appeal, and when it does the Pats are going to win as long as Goodell is removed from the equation.

The entire management structure of the NFL is a perfect example of the Peter Principle--especially Goodell.

OK, did anyone else besides me (and Deus) just have an epic nuclear meltdown?

JUST WHAT THE HELL HAS BEEN GOING ON THESE PAST TEN DAYS. ARE YOU FRIGGIN' KIDDING ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE NUMBERS THE BALLS STARTED AT?????

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!!!!!!!!

Does this mean the Pats just got dragged though the mud for nothing? I think it does...

Where did all these crazy PSI numbers come from?

Hey guys.....let's not lean too heavily on interpreting the word "believe" ok?

Q: This has raised a lot of uncomfortable conversations for people around this country who view you as their idol. The question they're asking themselves is, ‘What's up with our hero?' Can you answer right now, is Tom Brady a cheater?

TB: I don't believe so. I feel like I've always played within the rules. I would never do anything to break the rules. I believe in fair play and I respect the league and everything they're doing to try to create a very competitive playing field for all the NFL teams. It's a very competitive league. Every team is trying to do the best they can to win every week. I believe in fair play and I'll always believe in that for as long as I'm playing.

So it will be a case of he said she said. Why trust Walt Anderson over Brady and Belichick. Belichick hasn't lied.

Here! Over here! This puddle of fissionable materiel over here did.

I see their point. The reffs are not doing science experiments. If they measured (big doubt) if they came in at 12.5 to 13.5 the balls are fine. Belichick already said 12.5 so that is the starting # period. The question is what is the halftime # and why wont the NFL release that?

If they have video of a kid taking the bag of balls OUT of the ref's locker room. They MUST have video of the refs examining the footballs. Right?

Goodell is so worried about air pressure.

Its 2015 and its still confusing what constitutes a "reception" and what does not. I do not believe Dez Bryant completed his catch in the GB game, but I can see the other side thinking that he did.

What is PI and what is not. How was that not PI on Dallas vs Detroit? Do you have to look back for the ball or not? Vs Baltimore, Gronks left arm was pulled back with the ball in the air and no call. Revis grabbed for a split second on the Flacco fumble and was given a Holding call.

NFL rules of play are more ambiguous than ever. More often than not its seems like no 2 officiating crews call the games the same.

They may not have recorded that either. They seem to remember it was a smaller number.
