I actually think Gray might be a better match-up for Seattle than usual. Their defense is small and very fast. Gray hits the hole faster than Blount, and I think that's critical before Avril or Bennett come crashing down in pursuit.

Our inactives against the Colts were: Chris Jones, Zach Moore, Brian Tyms, Josh Boyce, Bryan Stork, Jordan Devey, and James White.

I expect Moore, Tyms, Boyce, Devey, and White to all be inactive again. So that just leaves two more. Certainly I think Stork is a go if he is ready.

I think either Dennard or Butler is inactive. Don't see us needing six CBs in this game.

I'd guess probably Joe Vellano for the final inactive, unless Chris Jones isn't healthy again. Him or maybe Darius Fleming.

Jordan Devey
Joe Vellano
Josh Boyce
Zach Moore
Malcolm Butler
Jonas Gray

You were fine with the first 5 on that list.

But you're playing James White instead of Jonas Gray?????????

.
In the words of President Rutherford B. Hayes, C'MON MAN!!!!!!

For the 7th, I would sit Tyms.

Haha funny thing is that I forgot James White was even on the roster. Take Jonas Gray off and replace him with James White.

We need Jonas for depth in this game . That DL can be run upon. Per Bedard's excellent analysis and prediction column today on MMQB, they are missing a lot of their pieces up front. If Stork is close to 100%, I think there is an advantage to be expolited.

Personally, I am of the opinion that the Seahawks front 7 is not that impressive and they succeed primarily due to scheme and their secondary. Carroll has the best defensive scheme in the NFL.

Avril and Bennett are both average DEs.

butler played quite a bit in the Colts game

Dennard is on IR

Jonas will be active as Blount's backup but I would be shocked if he saw the field. No way BB risks the chance of a fumble with a relatively sparsely used rookie

I hope that, somehow, both Gray and Tyms dress. When one or the other is inactive, it always seems a dead giveaway of the gameplan in its broadest strokes: Gray sits, more passing; Tyms sits, more rushing.

Agree about the scheme, but I think both Bennett and Avril are well above average. Avril is rocket fast. He ate Denver's right tackle for lunch last SB.

How deep is the Patriots' bench! I'd love to see Tyms active, just because he's physical enough to go all hand-slapping with a wounded Sherman. Gray would be playing many snaps for almost any other team (I think he's being held back because he doesn't do the non-running things as well as the others).

Boyce would be playing elsewhere, too.
