How is this game going to play out on Sunday?

Didn't they screw up the end of the first half with a field goal instead of a TD?
As I recall, it was worse than that. Didn't we run out of time and we got no points, instead of 3? I think Brady botched the clock at the end of the half, like maybe thinking we had another time out & we didn't? Can't remember exactly...

I think our guys match up well against Sherman. I think Edelman and Amendola are very quick and shifty and can put some moves on Sherman. Not to mention Vereen. I do want us to run all over them with Blount and Gray and control the clock. Just wear them down.

Sherman has torn ligaments in his elbow. That may hinder him some.

They screwed up with bad clock management followed by an intentional grounding penalty for a ball thrown through the endzone which led to a 10 second runoff that ended the half. So they got into the redzone with at least one timeout (can't recall) and wound up with zero points.

There you have it. I knew if was no points; couldn't remember why...

If it's close and they lose..i won't be on here for a while....if it's close and they win...i still may not be on here for a while and be admitted for insanity :)

Blowout like last year PLEASE

I want to see the bigs : Gronk and Blount. And let's test that injury. Why not put Edleman on Sherman's side. He is quick, but even more importantly : tough and fiesty. If the ball goes to him, he can make sure either he (JE) or no one (Sherman) comes down with it.

On D : I wonder if they go against the grain. Let's say Lynch goes 140 yards and 2 TDs, but the receivers are left with nothing... I think we win in that scenario.

Well all I know are two teams are gonna come out of the tunnel and play a 60 minute game. I hope to god that the patriots are winning by the 60 minute mark.

How?

The problem is, he won't say that. He'll say, "they were afraid to come to my side of the field. They were afraid to challenge the best corner in football," particularly if we (no jinx) lose. The Pats would be foolish not to try to test his arm in the game. In fact, if I am the Pats, as long as he and Thomas are not picking off Brady's passes or coming close, I would throw at them early and often as they and whatever pain meds they took will wear down over the course of the game, particularly if they are getting a lot of action.

Another thing to consider is it's a longer halftime and if they end up feeling any discomfort or pain in the first half, they could come out feeling much worse for the 2nd half.

Seahawks fumble once, we don't fumble, leading to deflate gate 2 allegations.

My only major concern is McD. I don't want to see him pee his pants when a couple of runs get stuffed like he typically does. When that happens and he abandons the run the Pats struggle. If Tom passes 50 times on Sunday we most likely lose and lose big. Staying balanced on O is critical.

This x1,000. They really need to commit to the ground game and open up the pass with play action. I think if they go pass-pass-pass they play into the strength of Seattle. I don't see BB doing that, regardless of McD pushing the panic button.

I remember #24 scoring on a pick six against Kurt Warner during another superbowl. Maybe our newer #24 will score a pick six?
That would certainly help.

My intuition tells me that this game will be similar the Seattle - Greenbay game. I think the Pats will be comfortably in control until mid way through the 3 rd quarter when the tables start to turn - perhaps starting with a Brady INT or big hit that causes a fumble. Wilson will improvise and make some huge plays and Lynch will get uncorked and break off some big runs. I think in crunch time it will be up to our defense to force a turnover to win the game. For some reason, I feel like McCourty is due for a big interception - perhaps even a pick six.

I agree wholeheartedly about McD. He better not crap his pants like he did in SB42
O-line didn't do him any favors.

I want Belichick to avoid Sherman the whole game. Not one play, pass or run to his side. Win or lose, I'd like nothing more than that big mouth arrogant jerk to say, when asked about the game: "I didn't do anything the whole time. I didn't get to play."

I want them to go at him with Edelman and Lafell on several occasions. I would also like them to run his way and force him to hit Blount. He is top 2 CB's in the NFL and I want the Pats to go at him "to be the best you got to beat the best"

we win the coin toss and decide to kick off. unfortunately, gostkowski sprains his ankle after the kick. we go throughout the game without a kicker, going for 2 every time. but with 7 seconds left brady spikes the ball. we're down 2 on the 35 yard line. who's gonna kick???

at that moment, adam phucking vinatieri runs out of the tunnel, after his secret signing that somehow happened monday morning after the colts game. due to deflategate, not a single person had heard about the signing. simply out of habit, he marches out to midfield, nails the 52 yarder, and embraces bill.

that's what i'm expecting. if we're being realistic, that is.

I want us to score first and go for a 2 point conversion. I don't think in the history of the NFL a team has ever done that on their first score in the sb. Some people might say it isn't smart but it definitely would be playing to win.
