Paul Allen owns both Microsoft and Seahawks, is it legal under NFL Salary Cap rules for Microsoft to pay R. Wilson a large endorsement deal and then have him give a "home team" advantage to the Seahawks ? This seems to be a way to circumvent the Salary Cap

Paul Allen left Microsoft long ago and has dumped most of his stock over the years. He likely is still a major stockholder, but nowhere near being considered an owner or even an influence on their marketing campaigns.

I think its a good question, because even if Allen is no longer a company memeber, we all know how "integrity consciouis" the league is about its Shield. It would certainly seem like there is a great deal of grey area that every team could pull to lower a few dollars from their cap numbers. Its not like they haven't done it several times before to great success, dispite being caught severaly times to little or no notariety.

So here is the simple question. Do any of the Seahawks have any Microsoft endorsements.

Russell Wilson just signed a large endorsement with Microsoft. He has one year left on his contract. Wilson has not asked for a renegotiation at all

Paul Allen still owns over 100 million shares in Microsoft

I thought allen was still a board member.

He has been busy playing in the playoffs

There are 8.204 Billion outstanding shares of Microsoft stock. According to Morningstar, the Vanguard Group owns over 411M shares.. Followed by Capital World (349M) State Street (336M), Black Rock (253M) and Fidelity (221M).

100M shares may or may not put Allen in the top 10 in terms of ownership, but definitely not a majority owner.

You also have Steve Ballmer who has over 338M shares and I believe he's the single largest shareholder at this time since Gates has sold off over 200M shares in the past 2 years.

It's pointless. Paul Allen has zero role in the management of Microsoft.

Cheaters!
