Zolak - Patriots think the league has NOTHING

said another head coach tested to see if he could deflate 12 balls in 90 seconds and he was told he did and still had time to take a piss.
That's a flat out lie!

Listening to Florio on WEEI right now. says the NFL can punish the Pats simply because the balls weren't at 12.5. No explanation or proof of intent is needed. said another head coach tested to see if he could deflate 12 balls in 90 seconds and he was told he did and still had time to take a piss. Lets face it, Pats are going down on this. The leaks are leaks for a reason, they want to take the pats down.

That's fine. I want to see them test balls at every outdoor game next year in November-January. I expect fines for every team that had balls that obey the laws of physics.

I also want to see the video of the head coach not just adjusting the balls, but taking them out of the bag, adjusting them and putting them back in the bag in under a minute.

I swear to god that I am going to use the What if Hitler Found Out video as my answer for every ahole who tries to say the patriots cheated.

Being objective - if this attendant is a Pats employee then I absolutely think a fine is coming, Not for cheating but for controls and procedures not being followed by team employees when prepping for an NFL game.

There has to be something already in the game ops manual about this. Allowing a dude to go wherever he wants with game balls seems like something that could easily be abused for nefarious purposes. Which I do not believe was the case here but it could be next time. The league will update their policies to ensure this or any "hole" in their procedures is plugged.

Don't make the kid piss his pants like Goodell at Kraft's party.

I just think that Belichick should ask the officials to pressure test the ball after every Marshawn Lynch carry that he doesnt fumble.

If there really is nothing in the ops manual about the controls around the chain of custody for the game ready footballs then it's a shocking oversight and league heads need to roll.

The Colts wanted the balls checked during the game, I have no doubt they inflated theirs to the max.

For the eleventy billionth time, the Colts ball could have been inflated to the exact same PSI as the Pats balls and still would not have had a measurable drop if they were taken directly off of their cold bus and tested soon there after. If they had an internal temp of 50 at test time and 45 at the halftime test they wouldn't have dropped nearly as much as the Pats balls which would have been 72 at pregame test time and 45 at halftime.

If the all of the balls, Colts and Pats, had been tested at the moment they reached the field the pats would have been the same as the earlier test and the Colts would have been higher.

Edit: And this doesn't even take into consideration the prepping of the balls, which I assume the colts would have done at home before they left and the pats apparently do on gameday.

I think Florio is referring to the NY Daily News test they did. They did it in 40 seconds. The coach apparently did the same test. The one problem is they never used an actual gauge so isnt it somewhat IMPOSSIBLE for all the balls to be the same PSI as dumbass Florio is reporting. This whole thing is a sham.

If you want the pats guilty ull believe every dumbass theory. That's the problem the team has.

It seems that almost every time someone talks about how the balls might have lost pressure without deliberate tampering, someone else chimes in, "Yeah, but then why didn't the Colts balls lose pressure too?"

This seems to assume a fact not in evidence. As I understand it, the only reason the Patriots balls were checked and reinflated at halftime is because there was a complaint made to the officials. Were the Colts balls also checked? Has any reporter even alluded to a source saying that both teams balls were checked and one team's balls were deflated and the team's weren't?

Honestly, there is just so much rumor-milling going back and forth about this, it's truly infuriating.

I asked Kravitz on twitter and he said yes. I asked him to point me to where the NFL said this and he didn't respond. This sounds like one of those facts that has no basis. The NFL never mentioned it in their sole press release which is telling because they did state that the Colts balls were in compliance before the game. What they omit is telling.

Here is what bothers me the most, if this happened. Call it what you want, but it does look as if someone in the NFL decided to do a "sting" operation during the AFCCG.

Let that sink in for a minute. The NFL is comprised of 32 team partners. And someone in the NFL decided to do a sting operation against one of the NFL partners. Keep in mind this is not a drug ring, a terrorist plot, or even a money laundering operation.

It's about air in a friggin football. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, the Patriots should demand heads roll in the NFL offices. And that means Bob Kraft, the one who save the NFL during the CBA dispute, who supported Goodell during the Ray Rice scandel, and the one who supported a contract extension for Goodell.

I'm pissed about that and I'm not even a 'partner". Bob Kraft has to be livid and maybe we saw a little of that when he gave his statement.
THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT A "PARTNER".

Andy, I appreciate your passion here but the fine is not up to me. The fine is up to the bastion of irrationality Roger Goodell.
But you can't fine if nothing was done wrong.

Well for there to be a preponderance of the evidence there need to be a shred of evidence. What we know is that:

1) the balls were properly inflated (12.5 psi) and approved by the ref pregame.

2) due to the lower temps and rain we know that the balls MUST lose air pressure somewhere between 1.16 and 2 psi, which apparently they did.

So unless there is something else on tape there is NO EVIDENCE the PATS did ANYTHING wrong.

So what shred of evidence is there that the pats did ANYTHING wrong?
If the balls must lose 2 psi due to the cold and rain, why didn't the balls used in the second half lose psi?

It's sad seeing you folks jumping through hoops trying to disprove nothing. Get a grip.

Because they were already cold (they had reached equalibrium with the environment), this is the same reason the Colts balls didn't drop like the Pats balls, having come off the bus storage area vs. being stored in the warm locker room.

Think of your car tires. They lose psi when summer turns to winter, then you fill them up and they stay good until another big temp swing comes around. You don't have to fill them every day because they have reached equalibrium with thier environment.
