Blount: Seahawks get a lot more credit than they deserve

They're not scared of anyone or anything. The wagons have been circled, they are taking on what ever comes their way. Seatle is in their way!

Maybe we should start talking trash too, lately the other way has not done squat .

It's about time!!! I remember those past Giants teams talking crap about us and Coughlin just let them and it seemed to work for them.

That's what the adderall is for...ZING!
Back to the drawing board. I'll be back tomorrow more prepared. You've won this round.

While the Seahawks are a very good team, I agree with Blount here.

These guys beat a bunch of third string QBs all year long and had to have a miracle helmet bounce on an onside kick to even get to this game. People keep saying we haven't faced a defense like theirs all season long, well they haven't faced an offense like ours.

And has anyone re-watched the Seahawks game from two years ago? I know that has no bearing on this game, but man did the Pats blow that game.

They gave away so many points in the red zone it wasn't funny and Brady had one of his worst games as a pro. Two interceptions and and two intentional groundings, one of which was at the end of the second quarter, which negated the Pats a field goal. Woof was that a bad performance, yet still they only lost by one point.

Yes they should have lost vs the Packers and the Patriots probably should have beat them 2 years but both teams failed because they didn't play better the entire 60 minutes. It just shows that the Seahawks are a tough team to take out and the Pats have to be on their 'A+' game to win.

I think the fact folks say the Pats haven't faced a defense like theirs is a little weird, the Pats played GB which won against the Pats but for 55 minutes stifled Seattle, then we have Detroit which was arguably one of the top two, Miami was up there also, so was Denver at that time, and I think the Ravens in the end were extremely tough. I do think the Pats faced some of the best and did well.

I like what Blount said also.

I want like anything to be worried about Seattle and maybe by game time on Sunday I will be but right now I think the Pats are the better all around team and I think they will win, I also don't think it will be a three point game. I hope I'm right but I think the Ravens were the real test for them.

I've always thought bulletin board material was a bit overrated anyways. Are the seahawks gonna try even harder now? Lol. This is the superbowl, both teams will be giving it all they got bulletin board material or not.

I agree, and to be honest I've felt the same about Deflategate as well. Some people talk about Deflategate and say "oh, that will only motivate them that much more" I mean, it's the Super Bowl, how much more motivated do you have to be? Both teams are going to bring their best. The Pats didn't win in SB 42 despite the video taping controversy, so it would be silly to think deflategate will magically propel them to victory. The Seahawks are a good team, and it will be a tough matchup. May the best team win.

Blount seems to talk a bit more than BB would like though this exact quote seems to have been kind of exaggerated.

I wonder if it will effect BB's desire to keep him around next year. I doubt it but BB really hates this stuff.

Mention that to Rodney Harrison and let us know what he thinks. :)

That reporter seems to be making stuff up. Blount NEVER said the words: "they get a lot more credit than they deserve".

Seems like a Washington/Seattle reporter trying to create bulletin board material.

Blount did say "They're not immortal, they can be beat" and that "they were good enough to get here, just like we were good enough to get here". Nothing wrong with that.

How do these journalist continuously get away with these liberties? I mean jeez, talk about an entire profession always stretching the bounds of editing vs actual context.

No team is unbeatable. The Seahawks lost four games this year, as did your beloved Pats. But ripping on them because of who they played is silly. First, all they can do is play the teams on their schedule and win. Second, the 3rd stringers they beat included Aaron Rodgers (twice), Peyton Manning, and Colin Kaepernick (twice...same guy that beat the Pats at home a couple of years ago) to name a few. Look at their record against top-tier QB's over the last 3-4 seasons. If you're too lazy to look....they almost always win. The Sea/NE game IS ancient history but symbolic of what they do a lot: win, even if it involves coming back against the high-flying former Superbowl champs.

PS. If you can find it, listen to the Pats play-play of the last game against Seattle. Zolak in particular spent most of the game talking about how Russell Wilson was the worst QB in the NFL and the team was getting a clinic by the Patriots... As Marshawn Lynch would say... Yeah.

No one here should be underestimating SEA, and I'd have to guess that the high majority of our fanbase respects the hell out of them.

No matter who they played (although their competition was rather poor down the stretch), their defense was remarkable. It's going to be quite a challenge. That said, I'd still rather play you guys than Green Bay.

Did he say "they get a lot more credit than they deserve"? That is the article. Blount said "they are not immortal." I don't interpret that as very much of a dig, or a dig at all. It is like saying "Sherman can't lift a city bus by himself." It sounds like his way of saying "I need to do my job."

I hear this all the time, but player after player, including Bruschi and Harrison, have said that stuff like that makes a difference. Not necessarily on game day, but during the long, slow hours leading up to it. It gives them the edge to work just a little harder at practice, to watch just a little more film than they might have otherwise.

As long as he can back it up, I don't give a rat's ***.
