Zolak - Patriots think the league has NOTHING

Seriously, didn't that reporter say he was from Brazil?? He sure wasn't an American mediot.
Gisele's brother maybe?? :D

He was actually a former first round pick, who played TE for the Jets.

American for sure.

"Johnny Mitchell" I believe. Says he played for both Carroll and Belichick, but people aren't sure that BB was really there when their paths crossed.

Either way, he was very enthusiastic to be there--and showed a great deal of happiness and admiration for both head coaches.

I am the biggest Pats fan in the world - but honestly have to admit something is up.
No flat denials. No absolutes. Alot of word parsing.

We are hoping for best but something is up.

Not my first post and I am dedicated lurker and STH.
Just saying I cannot see how SOMETHING didn't happen. I am biggest Brady guy in world and have lost sleep. Just impossible for me to believe NFL had info and just happened to happen again in Champ game.
Seems too obv

Brady, BB, and Kraft all saying the Patriots did absolutely nothing wrong = no flat denial or absolute

Clown comment bro

I don't care about the deflated footballs any more. I just want the Patriots to get an early lead and win the Super Bowl in a similar fashion to the way they ran the Colts out of Gillette.

Hope this isn't true

Per a league source, the “preponderance of the evidence” standard applies in cases involving allegations of conduct that undermines the integrity of the game. That comes from the league policy manual given to every team.

Although Patriots owner Robert Kraft has insisted on “hard facts as opposed to circumstantial leaked evidence to drive the conclusion of this investigation,” circumstantial evidence could be sufficient to overcome any legal standard — especially a low one like “preponderance of the evidence.”
Depending on the full extent of the evidence obtained during the ongoing investigation, that could be bad news for the Patriots.

If you don't think they haven't been flat out v denying it you haven't been paying attention. They are all in and were well aware of the ball attendant. They know they did nothing wrong.

Remember science is our friend, "effects on footballs and the environment."

As long as the Kraft's go down swinging I'm fine with it. They can make believe all they want but it will come with repercussions. The NFL is a sad f.cking joke, not sure how much longer I will bother to follow it.

Thus, one clearly knowledgeable witness may provide a preponderance of evidence over a dozen witnesses with hazy testimony, or a signed agreement with definite terms may outweigh opinions or speculation about what the parties intended. Preponderance of the evidence is required in a civil case and is contrasted with "beyond a reasonable doubt," which is the more severe test of evidence required to convict in a criminal trial. No matter what the definition stated in various legal opinions, the meaning is somewhat subjective.

If anything, that helps New England. Unless Ted Wells decides Kensil knows more about Physics than say MIT guys, BC guys or HeadSmart labs...

Here's the kicker, if he does that the NFL would lose the antitrust exemption in no time.

Well, it's not an unreasonable standard of proof. "Preponderance of the evidence" is the standard of proof in basically all legal proceedings other than criminal cases. So it's not some crazy thing the NFL has pulled out of its hat.

It's just another leak, a response to Kraft's strong words.

And we don't know whether the Ref's did their jobs. If they just gave it the old squeeze test, there's still no evidence the Patriots did anything.

The NFL is truly pathetic.

I still think the League will use this to fine the Pats and possibly take a draft pick, but Goodell would have a hard time suspending Belichick or Brady without any hard evidence.

I think if he doesn't clear the Pats with no hard evidence, he is dead man walking though. I think Kraft pretty much saved his job after the Ray Rice fiasco. I think there were owners who wanted him fired and the more powerful owners (Kraft, the Maras) stuck up for him. Kraft is still powerful enough to get him ousted if he screws up again.

A nominal fine might be all right but there is no way I'd accept the loss of a draft pick for some guy going to the can for 90 seconds.
