KRAFT DEFENDS THE TEAM!

Reis covers football not soap opera

From the report I heard, there was a 10 minute delay to the start of the game. It makes sense that someone would wait inside an additional few minutes instead of heading immediately out into the rain. I grant that it also makes sense that he could take advantage of those extra minutes to play deflation games, but, assuming the report I heard was correct, there is a perfectly innocent reason as to why he might have done what he did, even if it wasn't a bathroom break.
Yea the game actually got pushed back 10 or 15 minutes due to the seahawks/packer game going onto OT.

Why hasn't Mike Reiss posted anything yet?

He's one of the people out there interviewing. Can't do 2 things at once! Although he did post Twitter highlights of Kraft's speech.

Wait are you serious about Rosie? LOL

I'm not surprised. She is a 9/11 Truther. Based on that alone, I just assumed there wasn't a ridiculous conspiracy theory that she wouldn't subscribe to.

You are not giving Florio et al. a pass, I hope?

Florio's a **** stirrer. You'll note that he's been playing both sides of the fence on this. For him, it's all about the hits.

When it comes to PFT, always look to follow the links to the real stories, and then only look to the facts. Speculations and opinions there are meaningless.

Since you asked.

Robert Kraft's statement, full transcript:

I want to express what an honor is to be here, and represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. I know how difficult it is to get to this game, and I appreciate the work of everyone [that helps to] host the event. We are anticipating a great game against the defending Super Bowl champs Seattle Seahawks.

Given the events of the last week, I want to take a minute to address the air pressure matter before we kick off this week’s media availabilities. I’ve spoken with coach Belichick, I’ve spoken with Tom Brady, I’ve taken the time to understand, to the best of my abilities, what goes on in the preparation of game day footballs, and I want to make it clear, that I believe unconditionally that the New England Patriots have done nothing inappropriate in this process, [that] where in violation of the NFL rules.

Tom, Bill and I have been together for 15 years. They are my guys; they are part of my family. And Bill, Tom and I have had many difficult discussions over the years, and I’ve never known them to lie to me. That is why I am confident in saying what I just said, and it bothers me greatly that their reputations and integrity, and by association that of our team, has been called in to question this past week.

As I said on Friday on my [prepared] statement, we welcome the league’s investigation, and the involvement of the attorney Wells. I am confident that this investigation will uncover whatever the facts where that took place last Sunday, and the science of how game balls react to changes in the environment. This will be in direct contrast to the public discourse, which [has] been driven by media leaks, as opposed to actual data and facts. Because of this, many jumped to conclusions and made strong accusations against our coach, quarterback and staff, questioning the integrity of all involved.

If the Wells investigation is not able to definitively determine that our organization tampered with the air pressure in the footballs, I would expect and hope that the league would apologize to our entire team, and in particular, coach Belichick and Tom Brady, for what they’ve had to endure this past week. I am disappointed in the way this entire matter has been handled, and reported upon. We expect hard fact, as opposed to circumstantial leaked evidence to draw the conclusion of this investigation.

In closing, I’d like to say to all the fans of the National Football League, and especially, the amazing fans of the New England Patriots, that I, and our entire organization, believe strongly in the integrity of the game, and the rules of fair play, properly, equitably, and fairly enforced.

Thank you.

Lmao, Rosie O'Donnell really commented on this? I had heard The View was talking about it but I thought it was a joke and I definitely don't watch it. Lol

Yeah I heard she said something.

Maybe Donald Trump (add him to the good list) can step in and restart their feud again.
She stupidly said that the Pats should not be allowed to play in the SB. And just to prove that Deflategate stupidity knows no political boundaries Bill O'Reilly said Brady belongs with ARod and Lance Armstrong. Idiots everywhere.

Wait are you serious about Rosie? LOL
Yeah, she was standing on stage somewhere saying we should be barred from going to the Super Bowl with everyone clapping

Wow really? I saw a video of O'Reilly from Thursday or Friday defending Brady re: Brunell's comments.

Gotta love these idiots that know nothing about football chiming in. Seeing Jermaine Wiggins destroy Rachel Nichols on CNN last week was very satisfying.

Anyone hoping for any sort of redemption for the Pats in the eyes of the rest of the country is wasting her/his time. Never gonna happen. It could be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Colts and Ravens cooked up this elaborate scheme to bag us, and no one would believe it, or they would choose to ignore it. Looking for love and redemption? Try the Oxygen Network. The best we can hope for is that the truth comes out and we are exonerated by the facts. But, understand this: when it comes to the NE Patriots, the rest of the country isn't interested in facts. Their minds are made up and NOTHING is going to change them - ever.
WOW, Great post, and its the truth. They WANT to believe they NEED to believe the pats are guilty, it explains how their teams lost.

Doesn't surprise me he would link to something giving out false information to make us look bad. That link says our total fumbles since 2010 were only 33, ********. Including the postseason, since 2010, we've had 86 fumbles and only lost 33 of them. Purposely false title makes it look bad.

Speaking of this...ahem...report...

I looked at the last few years, and from what I can discern, since 2007, we led the league in fewest fumbles only once, and were 24th last year, so I can't wrap my head around what this guy is getting at.

Ha, there goes any thought of the pats getting fined a frigging penny.

The game was delayed. Interesting. That's right, I remember now. But if the Pats had this plan, they couldn't have anticipated that. Hopefully, the kid was just doing something else and they can't prove he did anything. It makes sense that with extra time, why would he want to hurry down to the field on that crappy night?
