Dream of mine...

I'd like to ask DI as he is a lawyer and others who have legal training, is it possible to sue a media outlet or are they immune?

Would taking action against ESPN and/or PFT and sitting back and hoping they point fingers at one another for the following couple weeks be advantages? May be they would implicate Goodell and minions.

I know this next step is a dream but I'd like to see the Pats take legal action against the league. The old boys club would be pissed but maybe Kraft lets them know that if Goodell and his boys go away so could the legal action. After all none of them are safe if he can do this without any real evidence. He seems to think he can do no wrong. We know first-hand what he's capable of and perhaps we can get that point across to the other owner.

Hey Bob its' time to "take care of all family business."

Report: ‘Assistant Commissioner’ Robert Kraft Pushed Roger Goodell To Do CBS Interview

“Goodell rarely went out front to face tough interviews. But Kraft was one of Goodell’s closest confidants among the NFL’s 32 owners, and his fiercest advocate and defender. As a member of the league’s compensation committee, Kraft has vigorously defended Goodell’s eye-popping $44 million pay package, and in the wake of the TMZ leak, he personally called owners and lobbied them to issue statements backing the commissioner, according to a senior league source.
“So large is Kraft’s sway with Goodell that one veteran NFL executive likes to call him “the assistant commissioner.”

While I hope that Kraft has been vigorously lobbying behind the scenes to exonerate the Pats, the only significant thing that's changed in 24 hours is that stories have come out now making the NFL look like the possible villain. It's looking more and more like Kraft and the NFL have each others backs to the exclusion of anything else. Would explain Kraft's utter silence and disappearance from the public stage during the most important time of the season.

Anyone who thinks this is all effectively over because some of the media is hinting at an NFL sting designed to burn the Pats is deluding themselves.

I don't have a legal background, but it's very difficult to sue a media outlet for slander/libel if you're a public figure. They're not immune, but I believe that in addition to everything else, you have to prove malicious intent and a reckless disregard for the truth. Cable news and tabloids wouldn't exist if it was easy.

Mr. Kraft was not silent at this morning's send off..

“It’s now my pleasure to introduce the coach, who does his job better than anyone, the best coach in the NFL, Bill Belichick,” Kraft said before Belichick took the microphone.

Yes...you have to prove they knew the facts yet chose to be libelous and slanderous. In this case ... impossible to prove facts as who really went crazy to check balls before this...good enough was good enough.....no longer.

Found him! Nice to see him speaking unexpectedly right now.
