Barstool Sports: Rumors that the Colts' Equipment Manager deflated Intercepted Ball

As much as I love the idea of creating some kind of well-deserved backlash here, I just don't see national media picking up on it for the simple reason that it wouldn't be the Patriots. Why would the rest of the country have our best interest at heart ...ever. Even if this story is 100% correct, I see it getting totally swept under the rug and ignored. Maybe I'm just being cynical.

Right, now it's coming back to me. More confirmation of the uselessness of journalists.

Anyone ever notice that journalism has gone down the toilet with the ascendancy of schools of journalism at colleges and universities? Odd, that.

Umm...no.

It's the interwebs that has caused journalism to go down the toilet. Now it is hysteria and gossip-driven, rather than truth and investigation-driven. TMZ versus Cronkite.

True. the lawyers would not have let him be that definitive. He would have had to leave himself a little wiggle room and he didn't do that. They believe 100% that they are in the right. That said, it doesn't stop people like Florio coming up with additional nonsense.

Me thinks the Refs never actually measured the air pressure in the balls prior to the AFCC, but squeezed them by hand. They had to do 24 NE balls and 24 INDY balls.

Why I believe is that Belichick kept empathizing "feel of the ball" over and over and referred to Bradys Thursday press conference about the subject connecting his comments to BBs presser. Belichick laid his defense out nicely IMO. The Pats have not said anything contradictory.

I hope the investigation drags for a while, so after BB is done winning us a Lombardi, he can go talk to the investigators and tell them his suspicions about what the Colts, Ravens and Jet fan boy in the NFL office did.
I wold presume if his statements to the investigators include that, they must address it in the report.

Rob, this article is a piece of crap.

There are much better sources to use than that one.

There are so many inaccuracies in it, I don't know where to begin.

First of all, there is no byline.

Secondly, more credible reporters have written that Kensil left the Jets in 2006 - - BEFORE Spygate hit.

Thirdly, he never was the "President of the NY Jets"

Amateur crap like this only reflects badly on the argument we are trying to make.

Yeah. I mean, given the extraordinarily high level of professionalism of the "journalists" on the other side of the story, our side has a very high standard to meet! We can't afford to do anything like circulate unfounded rumors or play fast and free with the facts.

That may be the last thing the league wants to prove, but the Pats, NFLPA and any other of BB and Kraft's allies are likely building a case for it.
It's war, brother, it's war! Kraft's silence says he's "gone to the mattresses."

You want to become "them"?

Hit them with facts, not jello.

People come here because it ISN'T ESPN. They like the info that this website provides for Pats fans who want it.

BTW, PFS1974, the FACTS of this case are becoming clearer and strong enough to blow away the opposite side. Making stuff up (and in this article's case, stuff that is EASILY found out) isn't needed.

Lighten up. After a week of depressing news, I was just having a little fun.

I would love for this all to turn into a conspiracy that blows up in the face of the NFL or another team, completely and unequivocally vindicating the Patriots. But that might be too good to be true, and I'll settle for the whole thing just going away without any punishment.

It's a lot like the Super Bowl. It would be AMAZING to have a Super Bowl where we not only win, but win BIG. But in the end, I just want the win any way we can get it.

Somehow, I think (and kind of hope) that we ain't heard nothing yet. I think this might blow up in the faces of the Colts, Ravens and the NFL.
one can only hope. it would be my fondest dream after winning the super bowl

Ya not sure I'd be citing a Davey Pageviews Barstool blog. His rumor source is probably from Patriots fans tweeting him.
I agree, but the negative assumptions are based on similar sources. Fire with fire

Makes sense. It took the colts equipment manager 5 to 6 minutes to tell someone. A lot can be done in that time. Like i said, the answer is on the tapes of the colts sideline.

The problem is he would never do that because he isn't a rat fink.

Fox Sports reported Monday that the league has focused its investigation on a Patriots locker room attendant who was seen on video removing the game-day footballs from the officials' room before the game. NFL Network confirmed the story.

Perfect example of bias. Anyone who doesn't understand this process- which is almost everyone is going to read that and think some Patriots employee snuck into the refs office and took the balls out. That is caught on camera, and it is CONFIRMED true.

When it really means the ball attendant, who's job it is to take the balls is on camera taking the balls as expected. But even that is a rumor, and NOT confirmed.
