Schefter said the NFL is still pretty pissed and the focus of their attention is on Tom Brady.

Thank you. I'm glad someone else heard this too. I couldn't rewind to hear it again.

I'm just curious why no one's really talking about this.
He hasn't tweeted it and majority of us have stopped watching ESPN

I was a bit surprised when he said it. I tuned in waiting to hopefully hear some backtracking but it was anything but.

@JimIrsay
We congratulate The Patriots as AFC Champions. We knew the difficulties of going to New England and did not overcome the obstacles we faced.

I can trust Schefter though and that's what I don't like. Hopefully he doesn't elaborate much further on this.

Well we don't have many confirmed reports otherwise except from some guy named "Shark" on Twitter, so I don't know what can be expected yet.

@JimIrsay
Our rivalry with The Pats is something we treasure in the depths of our competitive soul,where the fire burns hot. We look forward to 2015.

The NFL must have told Irsay the investigation isn't going very well and he would be wise to bury the issue. Loving this.

So why is jim Irsay only now tweeting congratulations to the AFCCG? This was tweeted only five minutes ago.

Has e been told the investigation isn't going anywhere?

I'm still encouraged that we are innocent regardless of a Schefter report, I just hope it doesn't end up being that the forum has all been wearing rose-colored glasses the last few days on this.

Irsay's Tweeting could be another good sign, but as far as we know everything we have had the last few days coming out has been only good signs, no confirmations. So that's why the media isn't shifting yet.

As you note, no reason to distrust Schefter. I didn't hear what was said, just going by what was posted here. That said, there's nothing really new there -- clear they saw balls under inflated, assumed tampering rather than scientific reasons. BB went all-in yesterday, sounds like the NFL is still considering calling.

So much confusion. Makes my brain hurt speculating about so much.

That and/or preempting backlash. If reports are true, consistent with Harbaugh on Friday.....

He woke up with the Colts mascot's head in his bed with a note "Love. Bill"

NFL might still be pissed, but unless there is evidence to pin it on TB, it's a non-issue

It would look churlish to congratulate them after an NFL announcement exonerating the Pats. Of course, he could have just been on a week long bender.

Ya this wasn't the NFL responding to Florio's report or anything.

Their little charade is falling apart and they are worried as hell that media row is going to change the story to how the VP of game operations, an-ex Jets employee, may have been in cahoots with the Colts trying to run a sting on the Pats.

Agreed. I highly doubt the NFL has any evidence. The NFL has a lot to lose reputation wise, over this (which they've lost plenty of).

I'm sure the goal is to pin it on someone within the Patriots. I think it was a sting operation and it didn't turn up evidence. Tom Brady is the one who has been on the hot seat for the most part in the media. I'm sure he's an attractive target to pin it on.

Didnt tom tell his teammates that he didnt do anything wrong? That carries alot of weight if u asked me.Nfl is looking to blame someone and not point the fingers at themselves! Goodell should resign.
