(Merged x3) It's All Happening!!! PFT Now Blames The NFL For Tarnishing The PATS Image

I just want this over please. The NFL needs to come forward. How incompetent can they be?! Seriously.
If Roger Goodell were CEO of a company with a responsible, independent Board of Directors, he would have been removed from office a long time ago.

At worst, the Ray Rice mess would have been the last straw and he would have been handed his walking papers a few months ago. At best he would have been sent packing after his handling of Bountygate and/or the Replacement Refs fiasco (unfortunately, he'd still have gotten a free pass for bungling Spygate because he was relatively new to the job when it occurred).

But, the NFL is as corrupt as the rest of corporate America, where cronyism and incompetence frequently rule the day.

Interesting that BB went to great lengths to test whether 1 PSI and 2 PSI differences could be detected, even by veteral NFL QBs. Why would he test 1 PSI when MORT and LEAGUE SOURCES assured us all of the balls were 2 PSI low? Hmmmmm....
Because all the footballs cant have the same measurements after play and weather. Any blockhead would understand that but everyone in the media just ran with the exact 2PSI number.

Gutless PFT mods took down my post that went something like this:

"What wonderful irony that, when called to the carpet for their reckless, irresponsible reporting, the PFT/ESPN excuse is going to be, 'Well, everybody was doing it.' "

You ask for incompetence, Theo, I give you the NFL under Roger Goodell.

You might be right Deus, maybe it is only incompetence. I mentioned in another thread that I usually believe in Hanlon's Razor ("Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."). However, can any organization with billion of dollars of resources really be this stupid? They couldn't figure this out? I wonder if this is the exception to the rule (or the Razor).

I wonder if the Pro Bowlers are pissed that they did not get a single report written about them. There is at least a game tonight. sort of.

You might be right Deus, but I'm not so sure. I mentioned in another thread that I usually believe in Hanlon's Razor ("Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."). However, can any organization with billion of dollars of resources really be this stupid? They couldn't figure this out? Hard to believe.
Yes.

Based on his credentials, Goodell should never have been hired in the first place.

But, the NFL is as corrupt as the rest of corporate America, where cronyism and incompetence frequently rule the day.

There are some corporations that are awful. There are some that are actually fiscally and ethically responsible. The fact that the NFL is in such a compromised and discombobulated state is due to a lack of leadership.

Goodell is out of his depth. He doesn't have the leadership, management, operational, political or organizational skills to right this ship and lead it. He needs to go. Plain and simple.

This is the most bizarre story in a loooooong time.

It makes George Brett's reaction to the pine tar seem like a tiny disagreement.

PFT was full of s**t on many of the other stories they've run on this subject within the last week. They're probably full of s**t here too.

Every one has a theory. I don't trust mediots. I want proof. These stories will keep coming out until the NFL makes a statement.

You think Florio of all people is gonna make up a story that benefits the Pats?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/25/nfl-bears-plenty-of-blame-for-deflategate/

"....Even if (and at this point it could be a big if) the league finds proof of foul play, was it really worth it? The NFL has tarnished its own shield by painting a Super Bowl participant as a cheater without clear evidence of cheating......"

".....The other 10 balls that reportedly were two pounds under may have been, as the source explained it, closer to one pound below 12.5 PSI....."

"....Complicating matters for the NFL is that the bat initially was swung by Mike Kensil, a former employee of the Jets with a reputation among the Patriots for being an agitator. (Kensil’s father, Jim, served as president of the Jets for 10 years from the late 1970s to the late 1980s.) And so on the same day that the tampering charges filed by the Patriots against the Jets over Darrelle Revis became the latest chapter in a longstanding feud between the franchises, the tentacles of acrimony between the two franchises found a way to erupt into a brouhaha unlike many the NFL ever has seen."

Holy Crap - - Florio now sounds like a Patsfans.com Talking Points!

.

This is probably the first and only time that something could just as easily have been written by Joker as Mike Florio. Pretty sure we'll never see this again.

Also, I'm starting to wonder if the media, in a constant effort to one-up its peers, appear edgy and controversial to generate page views, etc., is now realizing that it's worn out this past week's angle and is pulling a 180 just to keep the story alive. If it all ends up circling back around and just trashing the league office for conducting a witch hunt that turned up zero evidence, that will be one of the more gratifying turns of events I've ever seen.

Read that article and there is an even bigger revelation that may bring down Chris Mortesen for the hack that he is following the Brady and the Pats rift.
But volin and the Breers will not see this, they will rather see Bill Nye's stupid take.
I don't see that revelation in the article. Can you point it out or did they edit it?

Mike Florio printing something pro-Patriot is pretty much all the confirmation you'll ever need on it being the truth really.

Thank you Joker.
Sometimes there really is a conspiracy to support the conspiracy theory. I don't believe in coincidences about the Jets. Pats file tampering charge against Jets. BS investigation starts against Pats by former Jets employee who is employed by former Jets employee,

Isray in a drug induced stupor dropping the dime to Kravitz screwed up things, If the game had gone to OT than Pagano would jump on it, BUT he was blown out and didn't realize his Drug addict owner would screw thing up .

Jim Irsay: Junkie and Narc - an admirable combination

You don't see that?

10 balls at 11.5 Psi.

1 ball at 10.5 (the ball that the Colts intercepted and had on their sideline before eventually transferring custody to the league).

Mortensen wrote that EACH of the 11 balls that Blount had NOT tossed into the crowd post his TD were 2 psi below standard.

Chris Mortensen @mortreport · Jan 20
NFL has found that 11 of the Patriots footballs used in Sunday’s AFC title game were under-inflated by 2 lbs each, per league sources.

Florio confirming from his source, after others had it up, that only ONE was 2 psi below standard.

Mort is D-O-N-E.
