(Merged x3) It's All Happening!!! PFT Now Blames The NFL For Tarnishing The PATS Image

I just want this over please. The NFL needs to come forward. How incompetent can they be?! Seriously.

You ask for incompetence, Theo, I give you the NFL under Roger Goodell.

This whole thing feels like the last episode of Seinfeld. Hopefully it ends with a different result.

That is a loaded question based off precedent.
They bungled the Spygate incident, they bungled the Ray Rice incident, they turned a blind eye to incidents involving Ray Lewis, Marvin Harrison etc.

I'm surprised anyone actually thinks there's any level of competency in the ranks of the NFL.

I was thinking yesterday Curran was in on the PC before everyone else.

He asked the majority of the questions, got "roasted" for it and was in great spirits despite that afterwards and now he pulls the Jets connection out of nowhere.

Remember BB & Curran have friendly jabs at each other in weekly pressers (the Golf shoe "incident" a couple of months back for example).
I wouldn't want to play Poker with either of those guys.
To continue the analogy, I think the whole house of cards is starting to come down.

Does anybody really think that Kensil is running a rogue operation without the knowledge of his boss the commissioner. Maybe now Kraft will know who his friends are and withdraw support from his buddy.

On WEEI today Curran joked that he took some shrapnel and said it was part of the business ...
So absolutely ... was like the Godfather calling the mortician to cash in on the favor to fix Sonny.
He sat in the front row. I am convinced of this.

Pre-Presser:
BB: Tom what do you want to know.
TEC: I want to know X
BB: I will tell you X on the record...but Y off the record after.
TEC: OK.

Done.

Can I suggest a theory:

  1. Ravens warn Colts of Patriots playing with under inflated footballs.
  2. Colts come to Foxboro looking to cause trouble over this.
  3. As BB noted, our footballs were at 12.5 but deflated as BB described by about 1-1.5 psi naturally
  4. Jackson intercepts ball and as he described he didn't notice any problems
  5. As has been noticed in a number of places, it's next to impossible to detect a loss of 1 psi by feel
  6. Knowing this and knowing that he won't be able to get Refs attention, the Colts' kit person (or whomever got his hands on the ball) lets out another 1 psi so that the ball feels a little softer and takes that to a Ref already primed about our deflated footballs.
  7. The ref has been forewarned about this issue by the Colts and feels the now softer football, puts two and two together and thus tests all the balls.
Landing us where we are now.

EVEN BIGGER STORY!!!!! The sting was not league wide!!! Instead of a rogueballboy we have a rogue league official in Mike kesil!!!!! he ran the sting without telling anyone else in the league office!!!!

Wait a minute, just wait a minute! So the real story here is the league itself and not the Patriots playing a kid's game with a ball that weighs 20 squares of toilet paper less than it should.
Huh, how obscure and out of left field is that?

The vacuum/bubble that media people like King live in is comical. What makes it utterly hilarious is he doesn't know about the bubble and takes his importance very seriously. How one person can be that much of a complete dolt should be the next major breaking story....

And, just maybe, the "video" evidence the NFL referenced in its vague statement on Friday refers to the Colts sideline.

Tom Curran was on the radio 93.7 fm this afternoon and he outlined the whole possible conspiracy and possible personal vendetta with BB. He is a good guy, we ought to back him up.

You're missing the VP of Game Operations Mike Kensil who worked for the jests for 30 years

Him along with many others who intimated it. And since they invested a lot of their simple minded processes into creating a 'cheating' scandal, many will cling on to it. It should be fun watching the simple minded lemmings start to fall out of line over the next days as well as specifically watching King try to justify himself while his place in the lemming line becomes less and less tenable.

I don't believe that for a second.

Also, someone needs to come up with the new 'gate' name for this as it seems it might have legs.

Interesting that BB went to great lengths to test whether 1 PSI and 2 PSI differences could be detected, even by veteral NFL QBs. Why would he test 1 PSI when MORT and LEAGUE SOURCES assured us all of the balls were 2 PSI low? Hmmmmm....

Not just the vaccuum but the apparently absolute faith he has in whatever the league has to say on this — after all the bungling they've done.
