The JETS Connection???? Per Curran

Here you go, courtesy of Mike Florio:

Complicating matters for the NFL is that the bat initially was swung by Mike Kensil, a former employee of the Jets with a reputation among the Patriots for being an agitator. (Kensil’s father, Jim, served as president of the Jets for 10 years from the late 1970s to the late 1980s.) And so on the same day that the tampering charges filed by the Patriots against the Jets over Darrelle Revis became the latest chapter in a longstanding feud between the franchises, the tentacles of acrimony between the two franchises found a way to erupt into a brouhaha unlike many the NFL ever has seen.

Read the entire piece.

Was Kensil the guy who contacted the Indy reporter who started all of this?

Then released the late night info to Mort and Peter King??

The whole thing seems so contrived and controlled by the Commish office... what goes around, comes around.

Kensil=Deep Throat...

Thanks. Where there's smoke, there's fire. However, Florio is off on another tangent to taint the reputation of some unknown suit who is being blamed without any specific evidence. Two wrongs don't make a right.

If this is untrue, Mike Kensil might be able to sue NBC and Florio. He's not prominent enough to be considered a " celebrity or public official" for the sake of proving malice in a libel suit.

I can't wait until we just get back to football..

Florio, like Felger, is a **** stirrer. It's what they do to generate audience. They'll bag on anyone, if they think it will get them noticed.

Agreed. But with Florio, personal biases creep into the mix as well. Objectivity is not his strong suit.

We'll never know, but I bet Kensil was the source of Chris Mortenson's "10 of 11 balls" report that accelerated this incident so dramatically.

Felger is the same way, IMO. But the underlying point is still the same. Florio may have more animus towards the Patriots than towards other teams, but he'd throw his mother under the bus if that would generate clicks.

In the end, with the 24/7 national cycle, pretty much every fan base thinks it's treated unfairly by the media.

I think it was Irsay, who was also Kravitz' source, IMHO.

The guy on the right - notice what he's wearing and the big smile he has

Apparently when the POS commissioner gained control he brought Kensil from his former employer the Jets. Kensil was behind the whole BS operation. Does anybody think that this was done with out the knowledge and approval of his boss and Kraft's good buddy the POS.

So it was a sting orchestrated by a former Jet employee that ended up blowing up in the face (or in the process of) the NFL. Hopefully this gets Goodell and his cronies exposed and kicked out of office.
