Ian,

A week before Super Bowl and this board, which is usually filled with good information is still overwhelmed by the hate-gate story. Can you move them all off the main board and let people get back to the biggest game of the year.

People, the Pats are in the Superbowl playing the defending Superbowl Champs. Lets talk football!

I proposed early last week that a sub-forum be established for this. It should be segregated from football news and discussion through next Sunday.

I know. This whole thing should be over, especially here.

Sounds Great! Let's pretend to ignore the biggest story in a country of 320 million people with the biggest sporting event of the year that involves a site devoted to 1 of the 2 teams of said country participating and lets just talk about cupcake frosting coverings and balloon arrangements.

Let me know how that works out for ya.

Yes, I am saying let it die. There is no story here. We might as well be talking about the kardashians.

This so called "Biggest Story" is a media fabrication.
Why entertain it any longer on this forum?

I'm with the original poster, all these threads should be moved to a sub forum titled "Senseless Hogwash".

I would be all for limiting these threads. Let's follow BB's lead and move on with a forum dedicated to football discussion rather than National Enquirer quality sound bites. There is plenty of that garbage on the media sites, so one need not come to the forum to find them. Dare to be different.

If anything we can at least merge all these discussions into one thread. It's getting annoying finding all these threads about this theory and that theory and this report and that report. Let's at least merge these all into one thread again if anything.

Right, let's censor stuff we don't like say just as espn did with videos that exonerated the Patriots.

Ian gave us Thread Ignore

I use it liberally to clean up my first page.

Try it!
There is so many different threads related to hate-gate that thread ignore isn't even enough at this point. It's one new thread after another.

Thread ignore is incredibly easy to use, and it's much faster than the rate of added threads.

I wholeheartedly agree that it's a problem but a giant merge exacerbates the difficulty.
If folks stuck to topic (I know, I know) we could sort on thread title.
I have no effective solution.

It is what it is.

Even with that it feels strange having 90% of the threads on ignore. I suppose it'd just be nice if we began talking about the upcoming game more and more rather than waste our time on this, but it is pretty hard, if not nearly impossible to avoid discussing this right now, so I digress.

Definitely time for one thread and a massive merge.

Agreed. A lot of the threads on the first page can definitely be merged. Even if a couple were left it could really be cleaned up.

People are posting to all these nonsense threads. It seems that the answer is to ignore threads that seem of interest to so many. Personally, I think I've read perhaps a dozen posts on the subject this week.

Just move them all to the political forum since that's what this is all about.

Easily done just make it a one thread sticky up top ...

All new deflate threads can easily be merged into that one ...

Doesn't work well because even if I put all this nonsense on Ignore, others likely won't go to the effort and good threads will be buried, not replied to and die a slow death due to non activity.

Belichick message to Moderators : Do Your Job.

How in the hell are they supposed to control and keep up with all this madness? Ease up on the mods, they have lives too.
