Will we attack/defend Russel Wilson like we did Tebow in 2011 playoffs?

Obviously, Wilson is a much better qb than Tebow ever was. Russel is a much better passer which makes them a better offense. But, their styles are similiar. Neither teams wants to throw 30x per game.

We sent a blitzer right up the a or b gap and made Tebow make an early decision. Spikes or Mayo. He had to tuck it and run or try to make a quick throw. Tebow wasn't good at making those quick throws and our defense chewed him up and spit him out in that game. Despite, not being that great a defense. And, nowhere near as good as this year's unit.

I think our secondary will prevent big plays off of quick passes. The sooner in the play they can identify whether it's Wilson or Lynch running. The easier it will be to stop. Thoughts??

Wilson wants to run outside and he's a much better thrower. In my opinion, that would not be a good strategy. I'd like to prevent him from running outside and make them work the middle of the formation.

I think it will be a contained rush. Keep him in the pocket and make him have to make throws against our secondary. put your hands up when he does and hope you can cause some deflections.

while most of the talk has been the Patriots offense vs. the seahawks defense I think a matchup advantage for the patriots is Our defense vs. their offense. If they can stop Lynch from getting going and contain wilson, the seahawks will have a tough time scoring if it is on Wilsons arm to their "ok" receivers vs. our secondary.

Belichick knows this and I think that is what he is going to try and scheme.

I would do what the Cowboys did earlier in the year. They shut down the Seattle offense and won a game that was not as close as the score suggests....

I think we'll run a lot more 4-3 than 4-2-5 in this game. Our OLB will be outside the de on the strongside of the formation. That should make it much more difficult to get outside. Chandler/Ninko don't do a good job of setting the edge at times. They will be reading Wilson in this game. If Collins or Hightower force him to move. In theory, he'd be sliding right into our de's.

He could run that read-option at the weakside. But, our de is going to be really wide in this game. And, will likely force him to give it to Lynch. Which can be a good/bad thing depending on their blocking. Those blitzes really disrupt the timing of that play.

Most of Wilson's big plays are later in the process. Scrambles, runs where he sees the hole. I don't want to give him time to use his athletic abillity. I want him to make an initial read and make his decision. Hand it off. Keep it. Or, throw it. If we're getting to him he's going to have to hand it off more than he wants.

I think the key to stop running QB's is to destroy them once they tuck it and run. Clay Mathews was doing a good job last week.

Isn't it still legal for helmet shots on players running with the ball? Once Wilson passes the LOS, defenses should do their best to make him pay for it.

Watching the 2012 game, the Pats did a pretty good job with both Wilson and Lynch. There were guys open for the Hawks but overall, I think the Pats did a good job. This game will be about turnovers. Simple as that.
