Meanwhile, the NFL completely ignores a much worse issue with Steelers

Wow. Now that looks like a problem. Explains how Big Ben got away with what he did.

Shameful.

#SHERIFFGATE

BOOOO BAN MIKE TOMLIN FOR A YEAR

etc etc.

Woa.

ESPN Outside the Lines is the only respectful aspect about that company.

Of course the NFL defers all matters to the team. LOL

This is amazing...

Kearney sometimes expedited gun permits for Steelers players, said Gail Carter, a retired deputy who oversaw the permitting process for the sheriff's office for several years before her retirement in 2009. By calling ahead and ushering the players through, Kearney would reduce their wait times from as much as two weeks to about 15 minutes, Carter said, adding that she still conducted background checks on the players, who paid for the permits. The presence of Steelers players stirred up excitement around the office, but Carter said she and her colleagues were also sometimes resentful because the players usually arrived at the end of their shift, forcing them to stay longer.

If I owned an NFL team, I would absolutely hire RETIRED cop(s) to help the players get home safely, train them in gun safety/laws if they choose to carry a gun, and yes, clean up messes. BUT for an active duty cop to work for the Steelers and the Steelers and the Sheriff's Office not to see this as an obvious conflict of interest is beyond me!

You also have to remember their is a huge difference between a Police Officer and a Sheriff's Deputy. Deputies serve "at the pleasure of the Sheriff" so as long as the Sheriff likes him/her or more than likely benefits from whatever actions the deputy is doing, they will not get in trouble at work. Basically whatever the Sheriff says goes. If this guy was say a Pittsburgh Police Officer, no way he could get away with doing what he does.

As a cop, I routinely try to dispel misconceptions that cops get away with many (illegal) things. And I point out that more often that not, cops have to adhere to a more strict code of conduct than average Joe. But this guy is clearly in the wrong, and how neither the Sheriff's Office nor the Steelers see that is incredulous!

the NFL will try and sweep this under the rug just like they tried to do with ray rice.....but lets go get Bill Belichick on some deflated footballs and launch a wide spread investigation!

Someone should tweet this to some media people and get this one going.

Time for guys like Curran and Reiss to fire back against the NFL. Come Friday's "State of the League" presser, the local media (the aforementioned, the Patriots Football Weekly guys, etc) should batter Goodell with questions about this incident, the Colts' player arrests, etc. Turn the tables a bit.

Nothing to see here move along.. the Pats are always worser.

also mount cody of the Ravens will be released for animal cruelty ...

Who cares?! The Patriots are cheaters. We only know Tom Brady because of the tuck rule. BB will do anything to win. The Patriots are the villains and nobody else.

Just tweeted skip and steven a. let the **** storm begin. There's plenty of real facts in this story. Also asked Mark Brunell what he thought lol.

Tomlin isn't hated by the media and hasn't challenged the league, nothing to see here folks.

Steelers: 0 playoff wins since Dr Rydze was let go and charged with 185 counts of conspiracy to distribute illegal PEDs and painkillers.

#hmmmm

No surprise PFT is also ignoring this.
