Even the political shows are interviewing sports talking heads about this stupid nontroversy, including one Bob Ryan who actually spoke the truth, a rarity these days. Paraphrasing...

"It's not about the violation (if there was one) it's about Belichick." No other coach would even get more than a behind the scenes talking to that would never reach the light of day. Of course he mentions how he breaks rules all the time, but mentions none [because he hasn't] and Belichick is finally saying FU to all for admitting something that was a technicality at best, when he should have said "sue me" and gone back to his job, out working, outsmarting and outpreparing every other team and coach in the league.

So, basically, Belichick is going to be charged and prosecuted constantly by the corrupt press and league governors because he won't kiss ass.

I'm fine with that.

The NBC host went on to say that the Pats are villains and this has taken all the "fun" out of the game for Patriot fans. I disagree. Sure there were a couple nancys who wanted to fire BB right away and beg the commissioner and other teams to be nice to us.

But I was born and raised in the Boston area a long time ago, and having lived in NC and Fla, as well as TX [though they're ornery basthids too] I miss the kind of fun that's the trademark of the rough, sarcastic, cynical, pessimistic and pugnacious stock that resettled the Boston area in the last century and a half.

Making fun of inept clowns in tailored suits? That's fun. Exposing know nothing, agenda driven gossip columnists posing as sportswriters - fun all day. Destroying, whining, choking losers who spend more time making excuses than game plans? That's the most fun of all.

Screw the suits, screw the silly scribes and especially screw the losers.

I'm going to have about as much fun Sunday as a human can, because I'm sick of it and so is our coach.

On to Arizona and GFY sideways.

I've heard this sentiment a few times from journalists now. Basically, we are harsh on you because you no play nice.

I didn't go to the school of journalism but I can't see how that isn't an admission of lack of ethics. Basically they're saying, we will ruin you if you don't kiss our a**. So blackmail.

I have no doubt some journalist always felt that way, but it's like a new dawn of brazenness to come out and say it. I think 20 years ago that statement would have received a some harsh criticism from journalistic peers.

Journalism has been dead a while. There's gossip, opinion and reporting. All with little forethought or reasonableness. Buyer beware.

BB is "The Dark Knight"

Journalism is about being liked or followed on social media.. the true measure of success.

Bill Belichick IS Howard Roark from the Fountainhead.
you are completely spot on, i am disappointed that it never occurred to me. just like the fountainhed bb is ostracized for his pursuit of being the best, not compromising his principles and thinking outside of the box. i really admire the way that he consistently takes the high road and refuses to point fingers or criticize other teams even though you know that he really must hate some of the snakes that have tried to ruin him and the pats.
we are on to arizona, i can't wait.
