Bob Kraft where are you???????

Kraft travels in much different circles than the players and coaches. They see the world and think much differently than we do. Would not be surprised if this was a hoax engineered from the top with Kraft and Goodell working together, with kraft offering up his team for the cause. The whole off week had the NFL dominating the mainstream media and I bet the Super Bowl draws record ratings after this. In the end "deflategate" will amount to nothing most likely and everyone hates employee Bellichick anyway. No real scandal, just air in the ball, but billions in free publicity. They could also be helping other elite in some way by manufacturing this distraction in the media. Look here, not there.

Kraft has already done a lot for this team, state and league. I don't feel he needs to SAY anything. Instead, I'd rather read the headlines:
New England Patriots & Kraft Family V. ESPN.

Let his lawyers handle it, sure it'll be a waste of money and time. But it'll sure be more effective than any speech he can give. And if the NFL wants a piece, include them as well.

WTF?

Please go back to trying to prove the Amish were behind 9/11.

I'm sorry but this whole affair stinks to high heaven. It just does not seem genuine. The over the top media coverage and "investigation"of absolutely nothing of substance just reeks.

Small detail, but I doubt that Robert is having much to do with this, at this point. I got a small peak inside the Patriot's organization several years ago and even then Jonathan was taking on more and more of the executive brain of the organization. By now, with his wife gone and time having taken its toll on his energy and capacity, I'd bet that Jonathan is more influential here than his Dad.

I think it really is hard to top what BB accomplished today. As for Kraft, if he's already not doing it, he better call in his favors and lean on the commish to put this embarrassing witchunt and spectacle to an end.

ACCEPT NO QUARTER. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY TOKEN PUNISHMENTS. As this would just make his own coach look stupid, a head coach who probably saved our franchise today and at the very least saved the focus and minds of our players to prepare for the real fight ahead - the Super Bowl.

Our Coach just backed up his belief in his team BIG TIME! As an owner, Bob Kraft, cannot and should not take any actions that would undermine this accomplishment!

Just goes to reinforce who the real leader of the organization is...Belichick. Kraft made a careful statement and 24 hours later Bill went in and did what Kraft should have. He defended the team.

Not to mince words, but he defended the entire organization not just the team (players). He is without a doubt the leader of the franchise.

I think it was smart to let Belichick lead the charge. No one could have done better then Bill did today.

But I do agree that Kraft has to lead the 2nd wave after the NFL gives their ruling. He should publicly call out Kravitz and suggest that he should be fired for his shoddy reporting. He should call out Brunell and Aikman and any other ex-player who smeared Brady or the Pats. He should call out ESPN and any media who made this a complete fiasco. He needs to name names and show his organization that he is behind them 100%.

Bob Kraft owns the NE Patriots and anyone who smears the team is smearing his name. I hope behind doors he is pointing the finger directly at Jim Irsay and the Colts and calling him a drugged up piece of sh*t who owns a team full of p*ussies (sorry for the language but that's just how I feel). He should be pushing for a new rule that says: If one team makes an accusation of another team and those accusations are proven to be wrong then the team that made the accusation should forfeit a 3rd round draft pick. If this rule was in place I highly doubt the Colts would have begun this unholy mess.

Don't be too sure that Kraft cherishes BB and Brady or vice versa. I think he feels his position in the league and buddying up with Goodell are more important to him than the team. This is how cameragate went down and we will see what happens now.

Totally agree that cameragate was a big blunder; in fact, last six days were a classic reminder of how the fallout of the camera-gate fiasco will never go away.

I felt sad when BB said that he would not even come close to breaking a rule and will err on the side of caution if too close. Not about what he doing, but more that a genius of his level is forced under such a microscopic examination by dimwits and morons for one single misinterpretation of rules that had no impact on the game (I am still on camera-gate). Worse are the smears by the Aikmens and the putrid remark by that Indy reporter that "if it is Belichick, there must be something amiss. Makes my blood boil.

On Mr. Kraft's feeling that it is more important to look at his position in the league than the team: I know as a shrewd businessman he will always keep an eye on the future and not emotions override his actions. But at the same time, he need not be that smart to appreciate the incredible value he has in this record setting coach/QB. So, I bet he balances both these requirements, which is a quite tough to pull off given the very harsh limelight the Pats have been subjected to.

I am so glad for BB's PC today because it made me now get back to savoring the days leading to the SB. I am still going to be curious at what finally happens, but am too much behind BB to be bothered by what anyone has to say or what the league declared.

GO PATS!!!

I was among those who wanted Mr. Kraft to speak and save this team when the NFL kept quiet for three days.

But i am shocked to read comments here mocking Kraft now.

Did you consider for a second that it could be a good cop/bad cop show for the outside? BB takes the heat and comes out firing (and he has done an excellent job in it that possibly saved this from going down further). Mr. Kraft on the other hand takes the high road and acts polite like he usually does.

It is foolish to think that he (Kraft) did not speak to BB and TB about how they were handling this. Plus, he is the friggin owner and one of the most respected guys in the league. So, he must have a reason to tread carefully (especially after the fiasco the FO did when it came to handling camera-gate).

If this is how the Pats fans react based on assumptions, what right they have to expect BSPN and the media to wait for facts to come out??

Sad to see such negative - and worse, personal hits - by fans against the owner who made the right moves for us to enjoy the glorious Pats for more than a decade; someone both BB and TB clearly cherish.

jeez! i get three 'funny' votes for this heartfelt rant?? This is worse than receiving 100 dislikes. :D

Come on guys, I was being serious.

Beg those three to go back and undo your vote.

Would rather you give me a thumbs down. Marking my post as funny ain't funny. :)

I really hope we get the last laugh on this and i am not talking about being cleared of this which i am sure we will.I am talking about being the last team standing!! Thats sweet justice no matter the critics

1)
Crisis Manager at work. Corporations (sometimes celebs/politicians) hire them and they manage the damage and the defense in unfortunate situations. At least, I think it's likely we have one.

For the coming week, we'll have every geek squad, myth buster, high school physics class repeating experiments following a set of circumstances BB described. Casual basic physics using our parameters. Continuous positive test results all week and possibly beyond. Brilliant.

At least for now only, we have the Last Word. We seem to be fighting and doing it well.

2)
Brady and BB are Hall of Fame candidates. This episode could screw that up (think Clemens, ARod - but not as bad). Kraft doesn't have a prayer about getting TFB and BB to agree to a compromise like a Spygate. Kraft has no choice but to fight and to win.

Yes, but NOT in a public press conference.

Read carefully what I wrote in that thread opening. It came from the heart, but it wasn't a plea for a public soliloquy from Kraft.

I wrote that he should be doing everything possible - - which for him means leaning on the commish, getting every expert possible to help the Pats case, get the best and most aggressive shark lawyers and DON'T cede the argument this time.

Most importantly - - don't allow BB to stonewall. THAT was the biggest takeawy from 2007.

So let me state right here as someone who was THIS close to being fed up with our ownership on Monday and quite simply was not going to take another Cameragate another time:

Standing Freaking O for Mr. Kraft on this!!!!

Do you think BB changed his ways on his own, or by the owner who wasn't going to let the "schmuck" hide in his cave this time?

After seeing that magnum opus today, does anyone think Kraft would have been a better choice to be up there? I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want him up there shaking his fists and slurring his words at the press. Let the Irsays and Woody Johnsons of the world clown themselves doing that.

Serious question: Who would YOU rather have seen up there lecturing about game day preparation and physics?
Ok, i get your point and agree with you. But i'm still incensed about '07, what the pats did was technicality, it was legal to video tape signals then and it still is now, it was just the placement of the camera. It should have been a $25,000-$50,000 slap on the wrist warning., nstead BK layed down. goodell was new and imo kraft wanted to make it as easy on the new hire. Goodell then turned around and screwed him. One of the main reasons for all the hysteria then and why we still hear about it today was the punishment. A first round pick and a total of $750,000 in fines. People looked at that and figured that BB must have really done something wrong, must have committed a felony instead of a mis-domeaner.
Goodell could have come out then and still can and say the pats broke a minor technical rule but it wasn't cheating. He didn't then and i'm not holding my breath waiting for him to do it now. After watching kraft stick up for goodell in the ray rice affair it was clear to me that BK had aligned himself with the New NFL Order, make as much money as possible, don't rock the boat, everyone stick together. I hope your right and BK threatens to rock the boat if this isn't taken care of in a satisfactory manor, but im not counting on it. Thats not who BK is, although i think Jonathan has an edge to him and would pressure goodell to end this circus.

Never gonna happen. He's in a difficult position on this one, given his status as one of the league's most influential and powerful owners with the most to loose should things go south with Goodie. So I can't say he made the wrong move for himself. I can say that his silence on this has done his fan base a huge disservice.
He also did his coach, his QB and the entire team a huge disservice.

It seems clear to me, both from Bill's nature and from his specific demeanor when he stepped to the dais yesterday, that he has game-planned his actions re psi-gate out beyond just the press conference. I think he's resolved to go full Samson if the NFL keeps coming at him and he's comfortable with whatever consequences may flow from that. The Krafts better be gaming out their actions, too. If Goodell doesn't come to his senses and the Krafts don't jump into this battle on the right side, they may find themselves amidst the wreckage of a fallen temple.
