This actually came from Bob Kravitz, the Colts reporter. And it was only in the last 2 days that Jackson denied involvement..

DID NOT DO!!! - i.e. measured the pressure with gauges to get an ACCURATE reading before signing off.

Which is why I said in the other thread that BB should have thanked the Colts for bringing the underinflated balls to the refs attention because the Pats had been forced to play with crappy balls in the 1st half due to the refs failure to properly inflate them. Once the balls were properly inflated, the Pats and TB rolled the Colts in the second half.

Well. Just look at Tom Curran. He tried to ask Belichick about what the NFL does, Belichick tells him to talk to the NFL and Curran tries 2 more times to finish the question when it's plainly clear that BB has no intention of doing it because it's not in his perceived purview..

What blew this story apart is Mark Brunel and Jerome Bettis calling Brady a liar.

I knew that was a massive error by the Patriots haters.

The Patriots brass couldn't allow that to stand. I wrote this yesterday. Kraft was going to lose his base. It was too big an insult. Not to mention Brady's entire marketing value was cratering after the hyenas yelled "LIAR!" And it would set a very bad precedent for all Patriots players and also future free agents thinking of coming to New England. There was no way anyone could be allowed to slander Tom.

This was obvious to me the moment Brunell opened his mouth.

So Im wondering if this 2 psi stuff relates to the balls being under 2 psi from the 13.5 mark. Seemed like belichick was saying 1 psi under, meaning we were just under by 1 from the minimum. That kinda makes sense because if the colts balls dropped from 13.5 to 12.5 they are still technically legal.

Did anyone catch the part where BB said the league is going to have to check and see what is going on here on multiple levels.. It was right at the end and he said that's a discussion for another time.. imo he is putting the Ravens and colts on notice they are going to be looked into for trying to set the pats up.

Mangini actually attempted to reconcile with Belichick. He went into Belichick's office and basically said "I'm willing to let bygones be bygones if you are".

Friction. Same reason that race car tires increase pressure after a couple of laps at speed.

I suspect that the equipment guys use one of those electric shoe shine buffers on the leather balls, probably with some kind of cleaner/leather treatment like mink oil or whatever. It's no different than a baseball glove or a pair of hiking boots.



Or a hand held buffer.
