Gronkowski vs. whomever is covering him is a big matchup as well IMO. I dont recall them stopping him in 2012.

while I keep hearing that seattle shut down Jimmy graham and julius thomas, those guys are weak and soft. talib shut down jimmy graham.

what did the chargers do where antonio gates shredded them?

Can't wait to see the intensity they come out with!

The whole "U mad bro?" thing makes me laugh.. after this week it's more like "WE ARE FURIOUS BRO" and will tear apart everything in our path.

Going shopping today for hot wings, bourbon and salami (don't judge me). Going to sit my butt down on the couch and enjoy the heck out of this game.

Everyone has their job to do:
Pats:
Contain Wilson, stop Lynch, score more points than they do.
Me:
Cheer, eat, drink

ABSOLUTELY - Belichick does have public speaking skills and he revitalized his fan base this afternoon. Unbelievable job - best he has ever been in front of a microphone!

According to Pete Carroll, Earl Thomas is fine and will suit up. I expected him to say that but I still think a dislocated shoulder is an injury that takes more than two weeks ?

Earl Thomas will play. They'll shoot him up with painkillers and send his ass out there.

Only lunatics and jealous idiots in other towns still believe Darth Belichick and the Evil Empire cheated by lowering the pressure of their footballs, for one half of one game.

The NFL has yet to provide that evidence. Probably because that evidence does not exist. Instead, the NFL has created a PR disaster for itself, apparently wrongly accusing a marquee franchise of committing a minor misdeameanor that may in fact have been the league's own fault, and turning it into a national circus. The league, as it announced Friday, is hiring an army of investigators, forensics experts and legal advisors, all over a a couple PSI in a few footballs. Pure insanity.

Herr Goodell pilots another train wreck.

That's okay, Pats Deb. I hope this whole pile of crap is a blessing in disguise and just pisses off the team for the game. Need a legitimate chip on your shoulder? Now you have one for disrespect. I hope the Hawks get the bill for this debacle.

As an attorney with a few engineering degrees, this entire pseudo-science/quasi-legal discussion has been ridiculous. I believe BB's speech is a good opportunity to close the book on the topic, so I will hope the articles trend more to the actual game so I can return to reading the sports media sites (which I boycotted on Wednesday and will lock out indefinitely until I can see something worth reading). Until then, I scan the press feeds here and pick and choose.

Now I hope the Pats let the Hawks feel their pain in the only game that really matters and show how difficult it really is to repeat.

The bye week was more like hell week but I'm finally on to Seattle.

Guys get their shoulder reduced on the sideline and are back on the field without missing a whole possession. NFL trainers all have sling-type devices that keep the elbow from getting into positions where the shoulder is likely to come out. Guys who've had the injury in the past run over to the sideline with their arm hanging limp, find the trainer, get it put back, and run back out there. Thomas will be ready to and have a bunch of naproxen in him so that he has as much range of motion as possible for defending passes.
