The Official Belichick Post Press Conference Thread

CNN seems to be doing a rather lengthy piece that seems to be essentially: Deflategate - As bad as Hitler? Or worse?
CNN is after ratings, they don't care how they get them and if the facts are true. They falsely reported multiple times on the Marathon last year. They have no morals or conscience like 99% of all media.

What does that even mean?
Who doesn't like someone explaining how they investigated something no one seemed to have understood?

Want it to be less complex? Like make something up for the ****** group?

I think he was calling the average person lazy and/or stupid. People just want sounds bites and they haven't the attention span for physics.

They do enough real damage to the world. The national media is horrible, most who aren't brain washed understand this.

I don't know what has been said in this thread. But IMO BB's comments were brilliant. Defended Tom, threw some science as to how this possibly could have happened and also showed how inconsistent the chain of custody and measurement was.

He then addressed that w@nker reporter who brought up spygae. 80,000 people could see those signs. We weren't being sneaky. The League deemed us wrong and we were punished... 80,000 people could see those signs.

He looked pi$$ed and wanted to be done with it all. He (like us) was embarrassed about how much time he had spent on the issue. All i can hope is that this galvanizes this team even more and that we come up and put up one hell of a fight in the SB

The preparation raises the psi. So lets say the ball is at 11 psi. The do the prep and it goes to 12. The refs measure 12, add 0.5 to get to the prescribed 12.5. Then, in BBs words, it returns to equilibrium, which would now be 11.5 (11 starting, plus 1 for prep, plus 0.5 for refs, -1 for equilibrium). The take it outside and it goes to 11 or 10.5.
This is an important consideration for the Colts balls and the second set of backup balls.
They were already at 'equibilibrium'.

The Colts are going to need to explain why their pressure did not drop, and I think if they did this a s a setup that will come out in the investigation. Maybe the league will rule the Colts 1st round pick goes to Pats as compensation that they suffered in their preparation for the Superbowl, if it was done with malicious intent.

Anyone catch Breer on CBSSports Radio? Basically said that he thinks the NFL has to have something on Pats, otherwise, they would have put this thing to bed because it would be their best interest.

I think pretty much everyone here thinks that would be the opposite. Thoughts?

Rodney could only have dreamed of this level of disrespect... Can't wait for this game!

Colts balls were prepped in Indy.
Pressure was test 'at equilibirum'
Drop left them within specified range if they started at the max.

Yes, starting at 11 PSI + 1 PSI, the referees will need to add at least 0.5 and that results in 11.5 PSI if the extra 1 PSI of the rubbing effect goes away indoors.
But starting at 12.5 PSI + 1 PSI, the Patriots can claim the PSI was valid before *and* after the rubbing. And if the referees say "it's 13.5, but Patriots asked for 12.5", they will remove 1 PSI, and that results in 11.5 PSI if the extra 1 PSI of the rubbing effect goes away indoors.

Either way, 11.5 PSI is what happens before the balls are even brought out (in actuality, the rubbing effect goes away while outside, on top of the reduction in pressure due to outdoor temperature)

Amazing isn't it? A week away from the superbowl, and Patriots fans continue talking about this crap, rather than, you know, talking about the mismatches and other minutiae that makes the time before the Superbowl so precious.
I'm embarrassed that this forum continues to expend all their efforts discussing this crap.

Look, we didn't cheat.
We know it, the Patriots organization knows it, and so does the NFL.
Except the NFL is trying to save their asses by going through a lengthy investigative operation that they feel is required when it comes to any matter pertaining to the Patriots.

I'm embarrassed.

Because of the leak to Kravitz, this was out of control on Monday morning, a holiday. This was not a train the NFL could stop by the time the top folks in the NFL even became aware of it. NFL needs to clamp down on leaks to the press designed to cause chaos and interfere with a rational investigation.

The NFL is trying to figure out how to cover its ass ! So they can say we did all we could but the Pats are innocent. They need a way out

Look it's very simple. The referees didn't do their job properly. I said it from the beginning. Also, Irsay might be in trouble for going to the media with this instead of the league. I don't believe that crap about them noticing that the football was low in week 11. The Pats would have been warned about this a long time ago. There is more going on behind the scenes than we know. Like I said earlier, BB would not make a statement like that without the owners authorizing it.

Possibly, but that was equilibrium in Indy, not Foxborough. When were they measured again in Foxboro, was it at the half, same as the Pats?

You may be right, but if this was done with malicious intent, I am hoping that comes out as the Colts explain their process to the NFL; it may be different than their normal process.

I think it caught fire after the 2PSI leak by mort which the NFL in typical fashion didnt confirm yesterday.

I heard something that makes sense. Indy was going to challenge the balls. They knew that in advance of the game. They also knew theirs would be tested so they inflated their own to the maximum pressure. I think the way the Patriots rub/prepare the balls will have something to do with it too. After watching about 9 scientific tests, I am convinced it was solely related to that stuff, and no funny business occurred. There are a ton of people who owe us all an apology!

Would be funny if they inflated them over Luck's comfort zone and that's part of why he sucked so badly.
