I think Volin will pull a **** move like that idiot Tomase did.
I was thinking the same thing...Young kid...trying to make a name for himself. Bert Breer and the other kid that left the Herald and went to the NFL network...name escapes me.

Rather than start another new thread......

My wife said to me a few days before the Colts game how much do you watch NFL network. All the time when you're not around. Well it's bundled into a $30/mo package and we don't watch any of the other channels. We do well but why pay $30 for something you're not using? I was going to say I simply need it and she would have been fine with it. I'll miss America's Game, A Football Life, Willie & Heath but I'm not going to spend any money the way this league is currently constituted. I gave up ESPN years ago and NFL Network is nearly as bad with Faulk, Sapp and company.

The only way to initiate change is at the wallet level. If thousands of NE-landers drop the network it's a drop in the bucket but that's the way things start.

Thanks for that info.

So, in theory, the Patriots would have had "10 minutes to deflate 12 footballs".
This means that in those 10 minutes, someone would have to "take them to someplace nobody can see it being done". Which means that there were (10 - N) minutes left to do this. If this "secret place" is inside the locker-room or broom-closet, that person would have to immediately get those balls outside, on the field, for kickoff. This would also take X minutes off the total time. Or, that this "evil deed" was done ON the sidelines, which would increase the chances of someone getting suspicious. In this case, there would be no X or N minutes deducted. This would give the highest possible time to de-flate all 12 footballs.

Now, what is curious is that 11 of the 12 (assuming this is a fact) were under-inflated. This would be possible if there was NOT enough time (10 minutes ran out) for someone to complete the "evil deed".

The FACT that came out of the NFL statement what that the "12 backup footballs" used by the Patriots in 2nd-half were in regulation BEFORE AND AFTER the 2nd half. They actually measured them. This means that the "cold/weather" did not have an effect on the footballs.

...which takes us back to what method the officials used actually tested the balls in the first place.

When did people notice the balls as being underinflated? How long were the balls exposed to the elements before someone blew the whistle?

Has anyone else played "Blitz: The League" for PS2? (I think it was made for the Xbox too.) It was developed by Midway after the NFL yanked their licensing for the "NFL Blitz" games. Word on the street was the game's "story" was written by the guys who wrote a short-lived fictional series on BSPN called "Playmakers," which the NFL all but forced BSPN to cancel because of the (probably not far from reality) way it depicted pro football players. In the game you can do all sorts of vice - give your players more 'roids than a pro wrestler, send hookers to your opponents' hotel the night before a game, even bet on your own team (to get yourself more cash to pay for the 'roids and hookers.)

The game featured the voice and likeness of Lawrence Taylor, who made this commercial for it:

Back then I didn't want to believe it. These days, however, I'm thinking more and more that he was telling the truth.

I remember watching "Playmakers" when it was on. Good show. I recall people saying how quickly it jumped the shark because they were going through so many story lines: gay players, PEDs, domestic abuse. Yes, the NFL basically made espn take it off the air.

Funny looking back now, that's just a standard week in the NFL nowadays.

What this situation has reveal to me is how much of assholes Ben Volin and Albert Breer are.
Every single thing they said was negative. Never even bothered to be reporters or whatever, they actually looked for stories to push agendas.

Super Bowl media day is on Tuesday. Will anyone want to talk about Ray Rice and domestic violence? Adrian Peterson? Irsay's suspension? Aaron Rodgers? The Panthers? PED's? Jet's tampering?I think not.

The 2 story lines will be ball-inflation and the Hernandez trial. Hey, Mr. Kraft, Goodell is using you for a fool. He's not worried about the games integrity. He won't have to answer anything about any subject that's an uncomfortable topic and he'll be able to brush them off and go back to appeasing the frothing at the mouth pitchfork and torch mob.

He can reclaim his seat as Judge, Jury and Emporer.

Are you implying that the refs locker room is the same temp as outside? Cuz that's where the backup balls are kept. Word is, the original balls were filled again at half and used for the second half.

If the "Sauna Theory" turns out to be true, I tip my cap to the #Patriots for being freaking ingenius

And the backtracking continues. Suddenly, presented with the idea of hot air being used by Pats the whole notion of "integrity of the game" is not longer relevant. No, now adjusting the gameballs like that is "ingenious".

Those people really have no stance on anything. Whatever direction the wind turns..

Yeah. A lot of jerks and dumbasses got exposed by this event, both here and across the country. It's been like a litmus test for stupidity and prejudice.

I agree. I used to follow the PatsFans twitter list of beat reporters to get my news but the **** coming out from Volin and Breer finally gave me enough of a push to create my own list without those asshats. Unfortunately, their ******** is still sometimes retweeted by others.

Tweet and Retweet were on a boat. Tweet fell off, who was left?

KC had no TDs to WRs in 2014. That's impossible.

Aaron Rodgers hasn't thrown an INT at home in 2 seasons. That's impossible.

The Broncos haven't lost a divisional road game since December of 2010. That's impossible.

No. Nitrogen responds to the laws of nature the same as air (air is 78% nitrogen)

So what you're saying is the local dealership are scam artists? Never saw that coming.:D

I think Volin will pull a **** move like that idiot Tomase did.
This has been my concern since this whole thing started.
"BREAKING NEWS, IN A JOINT EFFORT BETWEEN BRADY AND BELICHICK, THE PATRIOTS HAD AARON HERNANDEZ SECRETLY UNDERINFLATE THE BALLS FROM HIS PRISON CELL WHILE BEING RECORDED FROM AN ILLEGAL CAMERA, NFL HAS LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION, STAY TUNED"

just turned on the TV...bill walsh football life is on. the segment talks about how Bill Walsh had the first dozen plus plays scripted and his entire team knew them...so to gain an advantage Walsh would claim the headsets aren't working at the beginning of the game. Why do this? because the rule states the opposing team must also turn off their headsets during the time the headsets aren't working....

look, im just being fair. 49ers must forfeit their super bowl titles. montana is just an average joe and lying SOB

Instead of being inflated with warm air how about making it more simple. Brady picks out the balls he likes the day before the game. Store them in a warm room the night before the game, doesn't have to be a sauna just a normal storage area with the thermostat turned up a couple clicks, which gets the pressure between 12.5 - 13.5. Take them out just prior to the referee "inspection" , they then have 2+ hours to scientifically deflate to the original preferred PSI. No one is culpable of any wrongdoing. I don't believe there is a rule against this theory.

Just my 2 cents

GO PATS!!!!

Not saying that at all. As stated elsewhere the advantages of using nitrogen is longer tire life as the oxygen/water is removed from the gas (I've spent 30 years in the gas business)
