no.. second half balls were retested to be put in play, found to be under, inflated -outside on field- to specs and used, psi would hold

The Gas Law PV=nRT provides the relationship of pressure P, to temperature T. If the footballs were tested at indoor heated temperature before the game at 75degrees when carried out to the rain and cold of the football game they would experience a temperature change 25-30 degrees. That naturally can yield a difference of 1.0- 1.6 degrees depending on the air temperature of the compressed air. A football with a 75 degree pressure of 12.5 to 13 PSI would naturally decline by this amount, and be below specs.

A hypothetical football inflated pregame indoors to 13.5 PSi would decline to around 11.5 PSI outdoors in the cold and remain in specs.

There is a simple natural and completely harmless answer that the MEDIOTS never knew enough to consider.

If the footballs were tested at halftime, it means the footballs were cold and wet, and at ambient outdoor temperature, say 45 degrees. Depending on where they where-inflated the incoming, inflating air would be cooled by the footballs and more air would have been put into them at halftime and inflated to the proper range in that 15 minute period. the weight of incoming air to raise pressure by up to 2 pounds, is merely a gram or two, weight of a small piece of paper and would be chilled by the mass of the pigskin and bladder quickly. They would not likely vary much as they admitted.

Summary, In the words of the immortal Bard: "Much Ado About Nothing."

I've had a busy day, but this is how I read the mess, admittedly without having parsed every word of the statements or read any commentary.

I don't know whether anyone has mentioned it, but suggesting that Brady did this, without proof that he did it, would probably open the League to a defamation suit by Brady. I suspect that he and Gisele have talked to a couple of very high priced lawyers, which they can amply afford. Sweet.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there is some good, old-fashioned country hard ball being played behind the scenes. The possibility of a defamation suit has probably been raised and, unlike others, I'm not fooled by Kraft's bland statement.

What a waste of time and energy.

This is a very important part of the problem for the NFL and one that I am glad you brought up. If they don't have any concrete information that Brady was part of the balls being deflated, the NFL better tread lightly. There is no doubt Brady will drop the hammer down on the NFL if they fine him without some convincing evidence.

If ****ing Ray Rice and Ndamukong Suh can win an appeals then this should be no problem for Brady.

...which add some light as to why they haven't gone anywhere near Brady (as of last night).

Hell, based on the her reaction to the WW drop, it's not TB that they should be concerned about. She'd rip your limbs off and have them for Brazilian BBQ....

LOL. Yup, I wouldn't mess with her or her $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

would the nfl go through the hiring of a forensic team if the drop in psi wasn't significant? Which leads to..why would they if they didn't know the starting psi of the balls? I'm in the camp that I doubt the refs used a gauge, but all this forensic crap doesn't make sense if they didn't know the starting psi.

Because they want to appear 'tough on crime'? Or, alternately, because they're really hoping to dig something up on the Pats.

You've got a Top 50 law firm that bills out $500/hr for the low end kids that went to Suffok Law.

You got a expert forensics firm that the NSA outsources work to that has top gvt clearance.

Really?? For footballs?

This is getting to be a bit much

Brady actually has a lot of $$ at stake with career long advertising stuff.

This is bigtime for him.

Has anyone even addressed what the Colts did with their balls when they brought them to the stadium. It' not like the Colts have an equipment locker room in Gillette.

Their equipment is on the underside of a bus en route from the hotel.

Were the Colts balls outside in other words, while the Patriots balls were inside.

Because CSI.

CSI is riddled with factual inconsistencies that people actually believe...like low-resolution security camera's magical ability to create a hi-resolution image of the assailant in the reflection of an eyeball. Now that the herpderps of America know that 'forensics' are on the case, the public at large will have to believe the outcome, no matter what.

This witch hunt is almost over everyone, and the 60-burger the Pats are about to drop on the Seahawks next week will be glorious. Pats nation will relish in the offseason, while we drink oceans worth of the rest of the world's tears...

Always. The trick is to not get caught by surprise. After all, a fart is merely a turd honking for the right of way.

Sorry. I resort to juvenile humor when surrounded by epic stupidity. And deflate-gate "scandal" is the mother of epic stupidity.

I like how they have a database of everything. Found some orange juice at the scene. Bring up the juice database and match its forensic fingerprint, okay, now bring up the database on who the manufacturer sold OJ too in last month. Now the database on everyone that bought juice at that store. Yeah, thousand of juice manufacturers and stores are tracking every tom **** and Harry that buys juice. Oh, you want some juice, I need your name, address, phone number...

A very appropriate response from someone with that username.... ;)
