Bob Ryan

I'm not from the area so I don't follow him at all...I know I've heard his name mentioned many times in relation to the Patriots but I just heard him on the radio and is he really as big of a moron as he sounded? He sounded like he had pure hate for the Patriots. Was talking about his article to be released sunday, said well let's just say I won't be invited to the kraft or belichick anytime soon.
Has he always been like this?

Work from the starting point that most people in the media (i.e. "journos") are morons who will say anything for national attention and moving forward, you won't be surprised.

Good advice....some of the stuff I've heard in the last few days seems crazy. They all seem to be experts now or at least that's how they try to present it with alot of "Anonymous" sources for everything.

There was a time that Bob Ryan was the greatest basketball writer of his time.

Now he is a Boston Globe sacred cow who's name lends credibility to dying brand who has about as much depth and insight to his columns as my 2nd grader- and shes pretty good!

I don't know if he's always been like this as I didn't read him in the 70s and 80s, but he hates football.

Last year, I forget if it was the Globe or Comcast Sports, but they played an April Fools joke on him where they told him his assignment was to cover some linebacker signing by the Patriots. He was very disappointed and upset, until they told him it was only a joke.

He was great when the Celtics had the real big three almost 30 years ago. Now he is a sad joke whom they prop up on ESPN to talk about things he know nothing about.

I guess I have NEVER understood why a writer of a City's newspaper would TRASH their OWN teams that harshly.....ESPECIALLY during SB buildup week.....??? How do you do that?? I still find it amazing that Tomasshole was not found beaten to a bloody pulp for being a KEY REASON as to why the Pats didn't complete the perfect season.....and why he hasn't gotten his face stuffed with a steel toed boot since then....

Luckily, there isn't a writer in Boston that is respected. So there is little chance an article any of them write will be actually read with anything but disdain. That of course doesn't drive them to excel, but rather allows them to sink even further into the muck.

It is hilarious to watch the March Of The Mediots. They're lemmings who follow each other straight off the cliff. They trip over each other with breathless condemnation over a story where absolutely no facts have been presented. None!! We call 'em mediots for a reason.

Like most of the guys in this town, Bob Ryan has his one sport, and he's actually pretty good at it. In his case, it's basketball. With literally anything else, he sucks.
