Schefter: NFL Having a Hard Time Finding Evidence of Tampering

If this all comes out that these accusations are not true then Goodell needs to be fired. He will have shown how incompetent he really is.

on the peter king piece.

theres two ways of looking at it.
in the court of public opinion it doesn't look great. its framed to make it look like something nefarious happened to the pats balls.
on the other hand. He's a company man and by that I mean NFL). I'm taking that information with a pinch of salt.

This story has been running all week now with outrageous speculation and conflicting reports. I just want to know what the NFL finds in their investigation.

What I take away from the Peter King piece (if true) is this.

The Patriot footballs tested fine after the game.

So not only did the Patriots have to deflate the footballs without anyone catching them at it -they also had to reinflate them with air pumps without anyone catching them at it.. all while under the watchful of referees who were there to catch them at something in the first place.

.. this is just beyond the scope of plausibility in my opinion.

Aikman is an a-hole.

I don't think Brady gets suspended. I don't think he did anything. I don't think anyone did anything. Balls were lower pressure after a half of play? m'kay... That's kinda what you'd expect. It's just more and more evident this is only a story because the media wagged the dog NFL style. Let 'em. They'll end up right where this mess started because there is, quite literally, nothing to see here.

I'm just sorry I got suckered into it yesterday before better sense kicked in.

Aikman was out of line. I didn't hear him, but based on the transcript of his radio interview there seemed to be a ton venom spewing from his mouth.

Like Brunell hes another ex-QB who getting taken to the cleaners financially.

That's ok, we forgive you. :)

You weren't alone either.

It sounded just like it reads - he already has all the answers, investigation was conclusive and closed as far as he's concerned, just tell him when to show up for the hanging. Aikman has volunteered to kick the chair out from under Brady himself and take the credit, but just like in his playing career it will be his gigantic offensive line, running backs, and receivers that do all the actual work.

Funny thing yesterday.

Mazz was on 92.3 here in Cleveland talking about how BB needs to be executed because he is breaking the rules even though it's not proven.

Next comment is about the Jets tampering charges and how stupid it is because despite the fact it's a rule and was broken......it's Patriots fault for filing because it's a dumb rule.

Naturally, the two host clowns approve right away.
This is why those ass clowns never need to apologize. They all are in cahoots.they give each other positive reinforcement.and they never lack for opportunities to spout they're poison.and of course, they don't need to be right or even close to it.

How can you launch an investigation without contacting Brady/Belichick??... my guess is they knew the answer before they started, thus they have been releasing snippets via their lackies during the middle of the night..

The NFL does not have to say anything, they are getting mucho press and they look like good guys, and the focus is on the nefarious New England Patriots and their sinister leader..

The real question is how can you explain deflation when the balls were in the possession of league employees the whole time. Also, how exactly were league employees so easily swayed to commit fraud by the Patriots and why no league officials never noticed that team personnel were over on the sidelines deflating footballs.

The only explanation is the officials never tested.

Here is the rub.

Baltimore and Indy both know that the only plausible way to return any sense of "parity" to the AFC is for Belichick to go. They can't count on Gronk getting hurt every year so they came up with this. Basic physics says colder temp will drop pressure from a mimimum psi.

The re-inflate also could've occurred with air temperature air (reports of Patriots inflating ball on sideline as second half started) - so the ball was at equilibrium with its environment. Nowhere for PSI to move in that case, would've stayed constant through 2nd half.

I am sure that they made certain that they were properly inflated after testing them at halftime.

If the Colts made the initial complaint and knew it would be coming, wouldn't they be extra vigilant???

Or (which I think is more likely) the "24 balls" he's talking about being tested at the end of the game are the 12 Colts primaries and the 12 NE backups (since the 12 NE primaries were taken out of the game at/before halftime). That's actually bad, because why the hell would the backups not come in low after sitting in the cold and rain for the second half while the primaries did come in low after sitting in the cold and rain in the first half.

If 2nd half balls were filled outside (as suggested previously - note the delay before the 2nd half was while ball boys were pumping them on the sidelines), the air inside the ball is at equilibrium with the air outside. No reason for temp to drop.
