Finally.

Rob Rang thinks Marcus Hardison could be worthy of a top 100 pick.

Arizona State's Marcus Hardison helped his cause Tuesday by measuring in bigger than expected at 6-foot-3, 311 pounds (and 33.5-inch arms) and Wednesday he proved the North's best interior pass rusher, blowing past would-be blockers with a quick burst. Hardison can get ahead of himself, getting his shoulders too far past his knees and leaving himself off-balance and prone to being knocked to the turf, but scouts could see his disruptive potential as worthy of top 100 consideration.

Hardison wins with his athleticism but has had big problems over extending. But he seems to be one of the quickest DL players at the snap this week. He needs work but there's huge upside there.

Coates has frying pans for hands at times. Seems almost awkward.

I soooo want Michigan State WR Tony Lippett to do some CB drills like Charles Davis suggested today. He was a starting WR *and* a starting CB for Michigan State last year. That kind of versatility would make BB weep with joy. :)

Plus having a 6'2.5" fast guy with CB skills would be sweet!

The kid from Miami looks very very fast!

After Carl Davis no defender has helped themselves this week more than Owamagbe Odighizuwa/UCLA. Should be in 1st round conversation.

Tony Pauline

I had both in my mock I posted yesterday. I took Laken in 2nd and Mason in 4th. I see Laken as a rookie starter. I think Mason would be our 8th/9th ol and eventual replacement for Wendell in 2016. Teach him to play center so that he can be backup C in gameday lineup.

I haven't seen enough of Tomlinson in the run game to really comment on him but what I have sen of him in Mobile is his ability to re-anchor. He can get shocked and driven back by an initial rush but then is able to hold his ground. There are there high rounders I like more like Erving and Collins, but he's certainly a very good day two / top day three prospect. I've been a fan of Mason for a while but it's been useful to see him pass blocking. He gets so low on the rusher that he almost lifts them out of their shoes when he gets under their pads. He really knows how to leverage his smaller size.

I know I'm boosting the prospects I like a fair bit but it's nice to se them get some love.

So, here's a suggestion for a sub-package Nascar D-line:

From Josh Norris:

More nuggets from watching practice tape: Owa Odighizuwa easily had the best first step among EDGE. Straight sprinting at Ts. Spd to power.

Add Odighizuwa and Harrison's burst to Dominique Easley who was renowned for it and offensive linemen won't know what hits them when faced with those three. Chandler Jones would end up being the slowest D lineman we'd have at the snap.

If chandler jones is the slowest I feel bad for opposing linemen lol.

I heard in the beginning of the week Danny shelton was essentially a man among boys out there. Has there been any news on him as of late? Cause I'm starting to like him as a prospect and think he might be worth a slight trade up.

the way they're talking about him the NFL Network coverage, it will take more than a slight trade up. They are suggesting he goes top 10. Carl Davis of Iowa has done really well. He's been lights out at Mobile. He's a very strong 321lb DT at 6'4.5" who has shown real ability to get pressure inside at the Senior Bowl although it should be noted that he didn't really show that on film. He is so strong potentially that he could (and I stress that) be a dominant guy at the next level.

So after todays excitement, anyone else coming down to earth and watching the Senior Bowl?

If you are watching, watch Hardison at the snap. Consistently a step ahead of everyone else at the snap. He's no 11, playing 3-tech for the North team. He's going to be one of those that wins the combine.

The kicker Tom Obarski is interesting with Gostkowski's future up in the air. Career long of 59, kicks outdoors in Minnesota and just made a 49 harder look easy.

I'll be doing a big board in the next couple of days. Carl Davis will be my no 1 DT

Steve Nelson of Oregon St. reminds me of Dennard.

Good year for OL. Aside from Carl Davis, I don't think a defensive lineman has made a positive play. Donovan Smith, Jamil Douglas, Shaq Mason are the ones I've been focused on and they've been terrific.

Some mid round, small school guys I wouldn't mind adding:

RB David Johnson...good vision with superior catching ability
TE Dan Boyle...Blocking TE that can develop as a receiver

Agree on Johnson. NICK Boyle did some good things, but he also did this:

Always good to see new posters in here. Don't be a stranger hornet. All opinions welcome. Your post has me thinking what types of players will be available late in round 3, supplemental and early 4th and late 4th. I think it's far more likely we can get help at G, RB and TE in those areas than the defensive front. Of course, you can't pass up a gift horse if one lands in your lap. There are also other pretty good prospects at those positions whom might be around when we utilize those picks.
