The Balls were Switched DURING the First Half

This is getting really strange. All of it lends credence to the total truthfulness of BB & TB's press conferences and the complete jackassery of the NFL home office. Delfategate will disappear from the sports pages by Sunday

Here's an interesting quote I didn't here before
"I wouldn't know how that could even be an advantage or a disadvantage," Jackson said. "I definitely wouldn't be able to tell if one ball had less pressure than another."[QUOTE/]
Who was the media punk going off on TB about how Dqwell knew the ball pressure was low and he couldn't? I thought Kravitz and every other bozo said this guy felt low ball pressure and handed it off to the officials. Bunch of @#$%^&, $%^

While I obviously hope you're right and believe that the NFL hates having this as the main focus on the SB break, I'd have a hard time imagining how they could possibly wrap everything up before mid-next week; especially now with conflicting evidence/stories coming out. If anything, it's looking even more complicated.

It appears the evidence and chain of custody are both trash.

What? All it really suggests is that the media's stories are trash.

I don't really see how it necessarily changes anything that the NFL actually knew.

I doubt that their investigation has been based on the reports that have leaked out about whether or not D'well Jackson brought it to their attention or not!

Why would the chain of custody be any different if they replaced them at the half, during the 2nd quarter, or at the beginning of the 3rd?

Now its time for bob to comment. This is a setup

Not gonna lie- if something happened to Pats balls (accidental damage) so they used the Colts ones which were found to be unacceptable and then had to delay the game... that would be the single funniest thing ever. These "journalists" deserve something like that.

I think that is why they are having such a difficult time determining culpability.. this was a classic f..up from the get go.

Consider that the Colts allegedly made a complaint after 11/16 and for some reason they chose not to do something until half time of the AFC championship game.. why did they wait?? Similarly the brouhaha about the Colts have their balls correctly inflated, of course they did, they knew this as coming..

There are so many inconsistencies in this whole process.. the blame will be difficult to determine..

Peter King said:
This is significant, because it takes weather-as-a-factor out of the possible reasons why New England’s footballs could have lost air while the balls on Indianapolis’ sidelines would have stayed fully inflated. I am told reliably that:
  • The 12 footballs used in the first half for New England, and the 12 footballs used by the Colts, all left the officials’ locker room before the game at the prescribed pressure level of between 12.5 pounds per square inch and 13.5 PSI.
  • All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge at halftime. I am told either 11 or 12 of New England’s footballs (ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported it was 11, and I hear it could have been all 12) had at least two pounds less pressure in them. All 12 Indianapolis footballs were at the prescribed level.
  • All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge after the game. All 24 checked at the correct pressure—which is one of the last pieces of the puzzle the league needed to determine with certainty that something fishy happened with the Patriots footballs, because the Colts’ balls stayed correctly inflated for the nearly four hours. There had been reports quoting atmospheric experts that cold weather could deflate footballs. But if the Patriots’ balls were all low, and the Colts’ balls all legit, that quashes that theorem.
The conclusion: There is little doubt the New England footballs were tampered with by a human.

So now the Patriots not only deflated footballs without anyone seeing but they also reinflated them too.

Belichick have a ninja-hoodie?

Why in the press conference did Brady not mention that he was using a Colts Ball? I thought the Pats were supposed to have an extra supply of 12 balls, were any of those tested? I'm so confused.

Maybe cause he was more focused on playing the game that the football he was using was the least of his worries

Glad this story is posted separate.

I guess I'm not seeing any real contradiction between this and some previous reports. Timeline:
- Jackson intercepts the ball, doesn't notice anything
- gives it to equipment manager who "notices" something. Informs Pagano and GM
- GM/Irsay files complaint with NFL. NFL informs officials.
- due to concern, officials instructed to remove all 12 Pats balls immediately, not just the 1.
- meanwhile, Colts drive for a TD during this process.
- Pats backup footballs are indoors somewhere.
- NFL being cheapskates doesn't have enough staff to get the backup footballs without stopping play
- Therefore, Pats last drive of the 1st half they used the Colts footballs.
- Again, to avoid stopping play, officials don't measure pressure of the 12 balls until halftime.

By "TV timeout" Jackson could be referring to the timeout after the Colts kickoff following their touchdown.

Seems like a straightforward explanation of this to me. Doesn't mean it still can't be wrong, but seems consistent to me.

All this proves is that Peter King is an idiot.

What it actually shows is there was no intentional deflating going on if the balls repressurized indoors. Instead, the first set of Patriot balls were more likely of inferior quality -- that is impacted more easily by weather conditions, possibly because they're too old or very scuffed. Again, something the refs are supposed to check for.

anyone listening to local radio stations? they're still saying patriots deflated the balls. hahaha....

As a lifelong Three Stooges fan I resent you comparing them to NFL management!!!
Retract your assertion or prepare to be poked in the eyes.
I resemble that remark!

Mo, Larry and Curly would do a MUCH better job of handling this investigation for sure

Maybe rubbing Brighto on balls reduces increases their heating coefficient.
