Nuclear fallout from soft footballs

I know there are already several threads but I wanted to look at this a little differently. As I have said, I believe this situation to be a result of the officials failure to properly control all aspects of the game, which is precisely the reason they are on the field.

What if Goodell announces, before the super bowl, that that is indeed the biggest or at least a big aspect of this deal? We all saw the 3 pass interference penalties go without being called before the half in the Colts game. The Pats receivers were practically mugged. What if the officials take it out on the Pats in the super bowl? There will be not one media voice upset about it and if it the officials allow Seattle to play dirty, which they are certainly capable of doing, everyone will either pretend it didn't happen or say "so what, they had it coming".

This is a scary proposition. We have seen a heck of a lot of calls made with partiality as a motive.

The silence of the NFL on this matter is obvious, aside from a few leaks that were given out strategically, they have been silent.. the refs have not commented.

This case has been given "due process" in the press who have been judge and jury.

As I've said in another thread. I think there is a very good possibility the refs vey rarely check psi. Because nobody ever cared. Harbough and Irsay saw a loophole and exploited it to smear the Pats. I mean. who wouldn't believe the cheaters would pull this? You see how the mediots, fans, analysts, tv and radio hosts...have responded. Just like Mangini did. If this is found to be the case, this thing would explode.

This is the thing that gets me. How do we know the "few leaks" are credible? With the age of instant news reporting, reporters assume a probable outcome just to get the "breaking news". We saw what happened with the Jackson story reported by Kravits. I think Kraft should hire his own investigators to throw this right back on the accusers. This thing could be WAAAAAY bigger than a few lbs of air pressure. The damage this has caused to the Pats brand is insurmountable

From all reports, this was a sting "gotcha" operation. I can see that in like week 8 or something, but the playoffs. Goodall will be pissed at Indy as much as the Pats if this is true. I still blame the weather.

I know some say, "Well, why weren't the Indy balls affected?" Um, since when do you stop an investigation upon a question? I have a few hypothesis, but I don't know which or which parts, are correct.

1) The Indy ball boy was cold so hung out by a heater, with his ball bag.
2)The lot balls when checked were checked last. We've been assuming a half hour to come to temp. What if it is five minutes? What if it is five minutes if the ball boy hung out by a heater? What if they were at 13.5 then because of the above dropped to 12.5?

Anyone with access to Game film can see about #1. #2 the NFL, and maybe the Patriots can answer. How long it takes a football to acclimate anyone with access to a football and a thermometer can test. (The better the equipment, the more valid the results.)

every second i reflect on this it starts to seem more ridiculous. spygate was bad, knowing an opposition's defense before the snap gives a real advantage (although I doubt that ever actually happened), but a SOFT FOOTBALL?

How about this. Why don't we give every opponent next year the chance to use a soft football and see if it has any impact on the game?

NFL's got to get its **** together and issue some findings ASAP. This is out of hand

More accurately the press has been prosecutor and jury, but completing lacking in the impartiality and fair mindedness required of a judge.
