Im confused... If there really isnt anything wrong, why did BB or TB say that it was serious and that the integrity of the game etc etc was important. It sounded to me like one or both at least know that something major is amiss. They were far too concillatory and calm for people believing that ther is no basis to anything.

If it was all just bs, surely they would have said as much. You would think they would get angry at the accusations. Instead they seemed to say "yep there was something wrong for sure but it wasnt us"

Im finding the whole thing so bizarre

Simple answer: They're both smarter than all the mediots out there who are seizing at straws, just to make splash on the nightly news, or their blogs. And in that regard, they're being very careful about jumping to conclusions, speculating, hypothesizing about anything they don't know on a 1st hand basis. Pretty smart if you ask me...separate yourself from all the hysterical folks....voice of reason...image of sincerity.

Just watching Comcast an hour late with Giardi, Curran and the hosts. They all seem disappointed that Brady and Belichick didn't admit their sins and beg forgiveness. Now, I expected that from ESPN and NFLN and got it, but I got the clear sense that somehow today's events made these people think it now looks worse for NE. I feel exactly the opposite. Where's the evidence? Am I badly misreading what happened today?

Curran hung them out to dry without the facts.......he's just posed with looking like a complete idiot and he's not used to that

Surprising because curran's column in CSNNE seems +ve.

All of my DOCUMENTED information, cross referenced for veracity, is in the Spygate Thread archived somewhere here. Along with that is the time and date of the Mangini sign-in at NFL headquarters. There is no documentation of WHO he was there to see. That is why sports media refused to run with it, and I cannot fault them for it BUT, just LOOK at what the sports media runs with as "true facts!!!" today. The whole league has morphed into the GFL (Goddellian Football League) where it's all true no matter how preposterous. Watch the tape and mark 42 DEFINITE must be called penalties in the Ravens/SF Super Bowl? No worries...just call ONE P.I. against the Ravens and a couple on SF. See? Ray Lewis WINS in his last Super Bowl appearance. He's an NFL LEGEND and he WILL be part of the machine TOMORROW! Complete orchestrated bull. I believe the NFL owners HIRED Goodell to do EXACTLY what he is doing. Make the league as P.C. as possible where every team has an equal chance at the ring. For the past 15 years the Pats have been a persistent outlier. Kraft can't stop Belechick from making chicken salad out of chicken shyt every year but he CAN back his and all the other owners personal little blowboy catspaw, because the treasure bath since 2006 has been UNPRECEDENTED. It's B-U-S-I-N-E-S-S. We're just the suckers that still cling to the outdated notion that our passion, our sport, is actually immune from the machinations of the money counters. It is not.

Joker my old friend and sparring buddy, we disagree on lots of things but this is something i agree 100%. I posted this in another thread about D Jackson saying the pats used Colt footballs in the second quarter.

"Wait, if the balls actually disappeared in the middle of the second quarter and not at half time like the league said does that not mean the league LIED about when they took the balls? Why would you lie about that? So we're now to believe a league that leaks information and LIES about when things actually occur didn't do the deflation themselves for all we know? Signs have pointed to a sting operation, but this discrepancy is the worst. They lied to get the balls out of public eye for about 20 minutes of real time. What were they doing with them?"

The league planned this sting with the help of the Ravens and Colts and may have even grossly altered the balls themselves.

It would not be beyond the realm of possibility that both pressers today weren't done in kahoots with the league. The league found nothing incrimating so it's time to take the quiet path out of this and get onto the super bowl.....let it die ....it sounds like there are more front office guys pissed at the colts

Everything is different now......just as with any purchased business there was a learning curve for Kraft ..... Gillette wi always be full
Just wait until BB and Brady leave and mediocrity returns. I live in Fort Lauderdale and know first hand how hard it is to fill their stadium with mediocre teams.

Huge difference between small market and large market

I did not like Brady's press conference at all. He contradicted himself from comments he made in the past and he came off like he was lying.

All he had to do was admit that he prefers his footballs on the lowest legally allowed PSI and he leaves it to the ball boys or equipment guys to meet the requirements. That was all he needed to say.

Well they should be. They stirred up the Hornets nets and are getting stung. This will cost the nfl money I am sure with the investigation BS and the media eating this all up.

I would venture to say that in the South Florida market which is the Fins fan base there are at least as many people as in the Boston-Providence market.

He has to be himself.....you couldn't have a mirror image of the bb presser ....based in it being pulled in from tomorrow, my thinking was to overload today with mountains of nothing, let the media sulk and move on.....today's media has a pretty short attention span

Did I miss something here? Why are so many people doom and gloom? Today went better than most of us could have possibly imagined. Belichick looked like $1M, Brady took a half hour of questions without stonewalling anyone or dropping anything that could be misconstrued, Adam Schefter said the NFL can't find anything (because there is nothing to find), E!SPN was all over themselves looking for anything to keep this story going and had a freaking mediot CRYING on TV, and now this D'Qwell Jackson story about never saying the ball felt weird to him is icing on the cake.

Cheer up, people. There are liars and cheats here, but its the ones who always be proclaiming to go looking for the lairs and cheats. They'll be getting theirs soon enough.

If the league comes out and says it was only .2 less..will anyone crucify mort ? He will say he stands by his story and people will say nfl covered up. there is no win in this situation.

Where has Shank been all week? Haven't heard a peep. Bet it was him that drained Brady's balls.

Brady also said he didnt feel a difference on the ball.I wonder if we are being set up here lol.Its a crazy though lol

Did you allow the first half of a Conference Championship game to be played with balls you suspected weren’t regulation in the hopes of catching the Pats red-handed?

If so, didn’t that potentially compromise the integrity of that pretty important game?/quote]

What of the best points I've heard yet! Very nice Curran.

I agree. I'm more confused now by the media reaction than I have been since this broke. I mean Schefter and others have been saying all day that the league is having difficulty finding evidence. It's almost Friday, for crissakes, and the league hasn't even spoken to Brady yet? I think they're going to string this out until after the SB, which is ridiculous.

I actually think there's a faction that believes the whole thing is stupid and needs to be buried in a litter box......there are way too many players and ex players and coaches who think it's stupid for there not to be a presence of that perspective in the front office

Don't argue with an idiot...

The public already agrees that a few psi is a huge issue. You don't argue that fact. You just deny you had anything to do with it.
