Its not their fault New England has handled this poorly. Today was rough. Shoulder shrugs from Bill at 930 and more shoulder shrugs from Tom at 415.
No, just no. BB came out and publicized his knowledge of the situation, and in BB form ignored the extracurricular garbage. He actually acknowledged the issue, and he expounded upon any involvement during the period in question. He even tossed a dig at the crack head ignition point.

Brady barely contained his contempt for the ******** he was being dragged through. He answered a lot of questions and managed not to shame the media in response, while explaining what his knowledge was.

The point of the day is BB referencing 12.5 psi and 12.3 psi. If it turns out this is all over TWO TENTHS of a psi rather that two...May God help Seattle.

Mike Reiss and Tedy Bruschi post on ESPN. So no -- I'm not blacklisting them at all.

ESPN pays Bruschi to make it worth his while. Is it worth your while to put up with that manure?

Also, Reiss? Wimped out and turned colors pretty quick when the going got ugly.

Poorly? This was probably the most verbose and detailed presser Belichick has ever given. Brady was a freaking stud with ice in his veins, putting up that room full of neanderthals for 30 full minutes, and not leaving them with an ounce of material that they really wanted.

So what would have been handling it right? confessing to something they didn't do?

Exactly...there's nothing Brady could have said, short of admitting he cheated, they would have accepted. I can't believe how this has turned into a 'burn Brady' thing. After BB's presser I was psyched because the surly evil genius coach passed the ball to his clean-cut, smooth-talking, media darling QB and he'd calmly walk them through his protocol, his thoughts on ball pressure and what he thought happened.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would turn into a Brady witch hunt. It's almost too insane to believe. The media made a determination: the Patriots cheated. They need their pound of flesh, and BB left Brady as their sacrificial lamb. Then Brady went and messed it all up, didn't admit to cheating so BURN HIM ANYWAY.

F*CK ESPN
Dam straight. I have not watched them since spygate, my provider does not carry them and if they did, I would try to block it out if that was an option in the menu guide, which it is for me not sure if cable providers allow for blocking of channels but if they do, I would suggest you do so as well and let it be knwon why, **** ESPN!

So we are supposed to believe these balls deflated themselves and nobody knows what happened? Listen man I'm a huge homer, but I'm not that ignorant. I love my pats, but it dosnt make me less of a fan to awknowledge that there was foul play here.

You're seriously going to use this as an example of Reiss going over to the dark side?? Ice up, son.

Mike Reiss said:
The Patriots, assuming he initial inspection of footballs by referee Walt Anderson and his crew was done correctly and that weather wasn't a factor, should be held accountable.

As I wrote in Tuesday’s Patriots mailbag, “There are specific rules that prohibit altering the ball after they have been checked by the officials 2 hours, 15 minutes before game time. If the Patriots (or any team, for that matter) are knowingly breaking those rules outside of the normal scope of what is accepted (e.g. New York Times story on Eli Manning; Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers acknowledging how he likes his footballs to feel), there is a price to pay.”

To be clear, more information is needed before any final judgment can be made on accountability. At this point, the fact 11 of 12 footballs came in underweight moves the story forward, and raises more questions as to how it happened.

(emphasis mine).

Do you have the NFL results of the psi results? Or am I supposed to trust Mortenson? Why do you take as gospel the deflating by 2 psi? I'll wait ty, till then I'll be a homer.

You can be a homer. I condone it. I'm a homer myself. Im just a realist myself. Mortenson is usually on point, perhaps we can hold out hope that his figured were incorrect.

I was with that thinking earlier today....at this point, it doesn't matter.... I don't think the issue is going anywhere. It seems as though the league has no evidence incriminating anyone and they're not going to blow the whole thing up. It'll be dead by Saturday

Pretty funny that of the leading trending topics for twitter nationally the only topic that is related to this mess is Mark Brunell. I'm guessing because he looked like a fool. Probably going to be made of fun in the late night shows.

Were they really "underweight"? Do they measure the pressure and the weight? That is the only way that I can think of that they could detect that air was let out (change in weight).

If PV=nRT, the only way that n changes is if you let some air in or out. The weight should not change once filled (outside of slight leakage). That is the only smoking gun I could see. Not sure the scales that they used are precise enough to detect the amount of change that would be needed.

This site is crazy sometimes. I'm as big of a homer as it gets. You can't say one bad thing about my team or my head coach or my qb and I'm on you like white on rice, but lets look at the facts. The balls passed insoection before the game, and failed at halftime. I've stated in multiple threads that I don't care if Bill is cheating or not. I'm a win at all costs type of guy.

Your homer credibility is in serious doubt. Show me an official report that says there was a deflation that must have been due to foul play.
I will give you a much more reasonable explanation even if there was such deflation: defective gauge.

Were they really "underweight"?

I'm pretty sure he was using "underweight" as a colloquialism for "underpressure". Unlike many of the media (like the mediots at Brady's presser today), I'm virtually certain Reiss understands the difference between pressure and weight.

Whether or not the Pats are guilty is not the topic of this thread. The other threads have been covering that ( and the technicalities involved) ad nauseum.

What IS the topic of this thread, is the utter lack of journalistic integrity (that phase makes me laugh now) in the main stream media. And why therefore you'd be better off avoiding what are nothing more than gossip entertainment masquerading as journalism.

Being willfully ignorant doesn't make you a homer, it just makes you ignorant. Like I said, I'm a win at all costs type of guy. I don't care if people view team as illegitimate. Only rule in New England is win.

I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you but how can I be anything but ignorant when no official fact has been released about anything. Don't be so quick to judge.

NOBODY has mentions this about Brady and the football:

Brady was asked if he didn't notice the difference in the footballs.......he said he was more concerned about reading defenses and getting the plays called right.

The press never asked about his hands to my knowledge.....with all that rain and wind and cold, he's lucky to be able to hold onto the ball , let alone tell if the psi was a pound low......

Mediots......
