Brady presser: What does he say?

I am honestly concerned by his press conference and I really hoped that I wouldn't have been. He kept saying how he couldn't tell the difference between the time he first checked the footballs, liked them, and then the difference between how the ball felt in the first half and second half.

Now we know that the psi of most footballs (Maybe Mort is incorrect on the exact number of footballs which fell by 2 psi) fell by a significant amount.

Brady also said that he likes the footballs inflated to the min (12.5)...so then my question becomes why does he prefer the footballs at 12.5 psi versus 13.5 psi if he can't tell the difference??? Why does he even care if the inflation of the footballs is on the low or high side if he can't tell them apart???

Major misunderstanding on my part and a hole in his argument from my opinion.

I am really not happy about this and substantially more stressed out about the outcome...

You're thinking pressure = weight. It doesn't. A fall in pressure is very different than a fall in weight. It's not a 16% difference between 2 PSI as Borges claimed. It's just a lack of knowledge about the subject.

Brady talked about how sensitive he is to the ball when selecting them before the game.

During the game, he handles the ball for an average of 1 or 2 seconds per play (or 170-40 seconds total).

Dan marino had this to say: "Dan Marino made a great point -- that the last thing you're thinking about as a quarterback when you get to the line of scrimmage is, 'I wonder if this football is to 2 psi lighter?'" Theismann said.

Hahaha this is my favorite thing all week. Some idiot at work came up to me and said "Yeah but the ball was only 11 pounds instead of 13 pounds so it's way easier to throw." The moron seriously thought NFL footballs weigh 13 pounds.

I wish someone had asked TB how far below the line the under-inflated footballs actually were. Not that he'd necessarily answer, but I'd kind of like to know if Mort's leak is correct or not.

Any way we can re watch the presser?

here's the thing--and please don't take any offense to this...have you ever played sports? At a decent level, say high school at least and above? Ever have a particular 'thing' that you kinda need just right? Mid game that 'thing' may not mean jack SH*T when you're in the heat of the moment. But when you're suiting up you want it just right.

I was that way with the tape on my hockey sticks. Played through college. I'd redo the tape after every game and practice, took me 20-30 to re-tape a single stick, get the tack just right, rub down the base with a puck so it's nice and smooth, make sure no strands were poking out.

Some games I'd go out and, first shift, someone would step on it wrong and tear the tape, rip off chunk of it, whatever. You think I noticed a difference, cared about that little rip or the difference in how the stick felt in my hands? Absolutely NOT.

You think Brady can explain that to the media trolls? How psychotically prepared he is going into game day, wants everything to be setup perfect so he doesn't have to worry about the 'little things' once he's on the field? But then, with how much he has to account for on every play, on every read, that he couldn't give half a friggin sh*t about whether that ball was 12.5 or 14.5 or 10.5, he just wants to get it in his receivers hands.

And that's what they'll never understand, why they're cave trolls pounding away on their keyboards while Brady prepares for Seattle.

Bravo. I do the same thing with bats - I can spend an hour taping one. Tape - swing - tape - swing...

Game starts, don't even notice. Same with hockey. Scored one of the biggest goals of my life, tipping a shot, only to lift the stick in celebration and discover that the blade was gone, snapped right off. The refs were laughing so hard, they nearly peed their pants - and told me as I went to the penalty box that I had been "playing" with the stick for several seconds...nope, never heard the whistle, either!

Brunell, Dawkins and Bettis are stupid. Brady likes his balls at 12.5. He picks his balls and the next time he sees them are game time. Bettis is accusing Brady of having his equipment manager bring in balls under the requirement, even if that is true, after Brady picks his balls, isn't it up to the officials to pump air into the ball and then approve them? How does this process fall on Brady?

Watching the bitter unimportant players spit and show their hatred and jealousy for the Patriots, specifically Tom Brady, I had to change the channel. Brady assumed he was playing with up to standard balls and during game time, he wasn't paying attention to the PSI, especially in those conditions. Should Brady have noticed on the sidelines? Perhaps, who knows. But to say, he's lying because he didn't fess up to something he didn't do is crazy. ESPN should be replacing these moron, with fresher retired players, in the morning. Rob Parker, who is equally a stupid, was fired over an "oreo" comment about RGIII. That comment was a lot more accurate than anything these 3 morons have said all day.

Funny thing is, the ball with less pressure weighs MORE...at 2 pounds PSI, it weighs ONE DOLLAR BILL more.

Seriously, that's it.

Brady: "I don't want anyone touching the balls, I don't want anyone rubbing them"

Giselle is at home taking notes, DAMN!

That ESPN crew was actually saying after Brady's pc that this whole thing was no big deal. Not a big deal at all.. UNTIL Brady and Belichick came out and refused to admit what they did.

Jesus.

I weep for the critical thinking skills of humanity.

It's ridiculous, just like the idiot that asked Brady to apologize. He's literally standing there saying he didnt do it, why in gods name would he apologize? We've created such a whiny, terrible culture in this country.

What does it say about our priorities as a nation when our national news networks are carrying a live press conference about under inflated footballs?

It says that we may have finally messed up the human gene pool for good.

the only thing missing from that presser were the pitchforks, torches and a rope. gawd what a witch hunt over nothing.
its the AFC championship, it's pissing down rain, as Brady said, I'm going through my reads and trying to get the ball downfield. I doubt he's squeezing the ball thinking , gee this feels a lot like Giselle's bosom

But then he goes on and says he likes the footballs at 12.5 psi, yet earlier he said he couldn't tell the difference. I think Tom spoke too much, he's hurting himself and the team. A LOT of journalists caught this, and now the verdict by THEM is guilty. I wish he would have kept it short and simple like BB. Tripping himself up with thes two comments.

I disagreed with the above statement because when I watched the press conference I took it as him saying he likes the ball to be air to the minimum which is 12.5. It seems like it is physiological rather than an actual "tell the difference" kind of thing. I could be wrong...Just my take
