Brady presser: What does he say?

I think Belichick and Brady know the NFL doesn't have a shred of evidence to hold them accountable with and therefore, they aren't fessing to it. I'm not criticizing them for this, because I would do the same. At this point, if they did orchestrate something, they only have everything to lose by fessing and nothing to gain. Teams skirt the rules all the time. If the NFL can't prove anything or doesn't even know who deflated the footballs, there isn't much they can do.

We need that goddamn report.

While I was watching this mess, I kept thinking about the fact that the team has been left out to dry by the league. They leak partial information and make no public announcements. F them.

And with a coach that admitted to doing the same things as Belichick did during Spygate.

You guys are forgetting the big thing:

Ben never broke the goal line in that SB.

That would be awfully risky - and stupid. Considering the silliness of the crime, I would be rather disappointed in them if they were trying to lie about it banking on the NFL not finding evidence. We've seen a lot of people make this mistake in our lifetime - again, I'd be shocked if TB/BB were one of them.

I am honestly concerned by his press conference and I really hoped that I wouldn't have been. He kept saying how he couldn't tell the difference between the time he first checked the footballs, liked them, and then the difference between how the ball felt in the first half and second half.

Now we know that the psi of most footballs (Maybe Mort is incorrect on the exact number of footballs which fell by 2 psi) fell by a significant amount.

Brady also said that he likes the footballs inflated to the min (12.5)...so then my question becomes why does he prefer the footballs at 12.5 psi versus 13.5 psi if he can't tell the difference??? Why does he even care if the inflation of the footballs is on the low or high side if he can't tell them apart???

Major misunderstanding on my part and a hole in his argument from my opinion.

I am really not happy about this and substantially more stressed out about the outcome...

You are talking about his preference when he is focused on the feel of the ball itself. He notices a difference if they hand him balls at different pressures (and tell him what they are). In other words, he can tell a difference if that is what he is focused on.

That is the most astonishing part of the interview !!! how is that possible, unless the balls were not measured at 11, or they never did a psi check before the game
The league's problem is at this point I'd say there is a 2% chance that they actually measured those footballs before the game. They just squeezed them.

So now you have both BB *AND* Brady saying they inflated to 12.5. The minimum. If they knew the league had a pre-game PSI measurement below that on record do you think they would both be specifying that PSI?

They have 100% ironclad plausible deniability.

Any drop must be from natural occurrences or whatever they can say. They reality is I'm sure they have been submitting underinflated balls (which doesn't even violate any rules) and they league has just been ignoring it, but there is no way to prove it at this point and rather than admit that they just say they have been doing the minimum.

Again, he can't FEEL the difference, but he likes them at 12.5 psi which is achieved by a gauge from the equipment staff hours before games commence.

This was all manifest in an interview he gave a few years ago or thereabouts. Which is why he answered the question about psi in the first place. Avoiding it or remaining silent would be akin to slicing open your wrist in shark infested waters.

What would they have to confess to? The dumbest part of all this is the "crime" doesn't make sense. None of it. Tom said it himself- "thought it was sour grapes." It's because nobody in their right mind could think this is a thing. We're just being led to believe it by a group of people (media) who didn't have enough to talk about before a Superbowl.

Plaschke "Brady should not be able to play in the SB

Full-fledged, BSPN, witchhunt
Plaschke is one of the biggest idiots on television, I see him on Around the Horn all the time. Why you would put a guy on TV that can barely speak is beyond me.

That's why I said at this point Belichick and Brady have to know the NFL doesn't have anything. They wisely waited a few days to comment, so that the dust could settle. So, while risky, I think Belichick and Brady know by now what they are up against and are calling the media/NFL bluff.

What did Brady answer?...was having break ups
He didn't apologise, he deflected and talked about how unfortunate the situation was. No way he needs to apologise, he's done nothing wrong at all.

I was calm about this earlier but now I'm a wounded animal. Patriots are like family and they've gone after one of our own. We need to stand up and fight this.

Eison has said that he can't tell the difference between the low PSI and the league approved PSI.

The REFS couldn't tell the difference throughout the first half.

Sham.
I wouldn't doubt if the refs just went in and picked up a couple of the balls thought they felt inflated enough and approved them. i don't see these old walt anderson using an air gage to check all 48+ balls, that would take a long time.

here's the thing--and please don't take any offense to this...have you ever played sports? At a decent level, say high school at least and above? Ever have a particular 'thing' that you kinda need just right? Mid game that 'thing' may not mean jack SH*T when you're in the heat of the moment. But when you're suiting up you want it just right.

I was that way with the tape on my hockey sticks. Played through college. I'd redo the tape after every game and practice, took me 20-30 to re-tape a single stick, get the tack just right, rub down the base with a puck so it's nice and smooth, make sure no strands were poking out.

Some games I'd go out and, first shift, someone would step on it wrong and tear the tape, rip off chunk of it, whatever. You think I noticed a difference, cared about that little rip or the difference in how the stick felt in my hands? Absolutely NOT.

You think Brady can explain that to the media trolls? How psychotically prepared he is going into game day, wants everything to be setup perfect so he doesn't have to worry about the 'little things' once he's on the field? But then, with how much he has to account for on every play, on every read, that he couldn't give half a friggin sh*t about whether that ball was 12.5 or 14.5 or 10.5, he just wants to get it in his receivers hands.

And that's what they'll never understand, why they're cave trolls pounding away on their keyboards while Brady prepares for Seattle.

I'm not convinced there's anything to be accountable for.

Because in their rationale, every network needs a village idiot.

Disney owns ESPN, in most Disney animated features there is a village idiot for comedic touch, ergo Bill Plaschke has a job!
