I'm thinking that the afternoon Hub gang has gone from simple trolling to trying to destroy a franchise. If it's genuine...then there is a conflict of interest. If its an act...then they've gone overboard.

I kind of agree. I generally like the show but it's really slanted today. On the other hand, that's kind of their job and controversy gets ratings but still. Their bordering on Borges level today.

felger and maz are unbearable today. and i generally really enjoy their show

This is not new. They've been doing this for awhile. This is a money maker for them.

Ian should make this forum censor the word "Felger" since he isn't worthy of Patriot fans.

You should never be surprised what these radio personalities do on the radio. They are paid to be assholes. They aren't good at anything, and they aren't smart. They don't know more about sports than you or me - in fact, I guarantee they know a lot less. They are better assholes than the next guy. For instance, amazingly, Andy Gresh is getting replaced b/c he's not a big enough a hole for the station.

I tuned in because I usually like Bedard's analysis and instead heard an hour of them trying to pick apart the press conference and why Belichick was lying.

I had to switch over to WEEI. Couldn't take any more of Felger and Mazz.

Goddamit, I can't believe I missed it, I was enjoying having my arm shredded of by the garbage disposal so much that I completely forgot to listen to those necrophiliacs.

I loathe Felger and his mousey friend.. cannot stand either one of them. When he used to guest on WEEI immediately change the station...

Watching ESPN now, and thank god Louis Riddick is a voice of reason..

I also could not stand their reasoning that because Belichick is so knowledgable and concerned with the intricacies of certain parts of the rulebook (i.e. eligible/ineligible receivers/linemen) that they couldn't believe he wouldn't care about inflation of footballs. The point is, one is schematic and taking advantage of the rulebook, the other is only based on your QB's preference. There is nothing innovative he can do regarding inflation of footballs...

They don't like Belichick or the way he runs business. It's counter to their ability to be media members, and so they're going to absolutely milk opportunities like this for all their worth. I personally find their schtick insufferable, but that's me.

That being said, hate them if you want (like I do), the ratings aren't just numbers. They're reflective of people listening. And those same people are either hate listening or they're loving what the two are selling.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can like these people. Their radio personalities are such that they are the type of people I'd not want to hang out with, watch a game with, or have a drink with. Mazz is like the little lizard that hangs out in Jabba the Hutt's blubber and Felger is just obnoxious.

How is this entertainment? Apparently fingernails on a chalkboard would pull in rating.

I'm reminded of a scene in Seinfeld.

"Why am I watching it?"

"Because it's on TV."

I wonder if the Patriots might consider going to another flagship station because of Felger-driven crapola.

I'm wondering why anyone was listening to Felger and Mazz when Dale & Holley is on.

Won't happen. Kraft will be too concerned about the bad press he'd get from doing so.

Yeah, I can usually tolerate them but they've been dinks from the get go on this topic. Even in the beginning when everyone was saying this was nothing (pre-mort report), they were already prepping their case for Belichick being guilty. Their bias is clear, and they're not going anywhere. Only thing you can do is listen to D&H, or something on your iPod.

Honestly, listening to both of them, you'd believe they actually want Belichick fired or banned from the NFL. But the good part is that no matter what, this won't result in coming down on the great & powerful Hoodie!

Felger, Mazz, Borges, Shaugnessey, and their type are a cancer on the Boston sports scene. Luckily, it's one that's easily treated -- just turn the station whenever their inane self-serving drivel comes on! It's a sad reflection on the scene that so many don't do the sensible thing and just turn them off. If you want football talk and you have a smartphone, it's so easy to set up one of a number of podcast apps so you can have sports talk wherever you go. Do so and you can rid yourself of their drivel forever.
