people are now saying brady will try to win and retire because of this.. every qb does this a certain way

If it serves even an ounce of motivation that can be turned into a tangible advantage in winning the Super Bowl next week, I will consider it worth it.

If next Sunday night the Commish has no evidence of wrong-doing and has to hand over the Lombardi to Belichick & Brady, he is going to look hilarious on stage.

Memo to Brady: just go win the game.
and cement your place as the GOAT

Keep pissing off Brady...a guy whose a sixth round pick playing with a chip on his shoulder wanting to match his childhood idol in Sb wins doesn't need anymore motivation the media making it easy

Why release facts when speculation suits their needs? They've pitted not just the whole sports media but the media itself against the Patriots. I'll say it again - this is the perfect storyline for Goodell in the Super Bowl week of what was otherwise a brutal year for the NFL, full of negative press and articles. #diversionGate.

I disagree.

How about the damage to their (NFL league's) already bruised reputation and the cloud over their officials who are also dragged into this controversy?

Given the Ray Rice blow-up and its handling, both Goodell and the league would rather prefer that the season ended smoothly and this time, both the #1 ranked AFC and NFC teams are duking it out, which was wonderful news for them for a few hours late into Sunday.

And now this.

They are in the midst of another allegation that is going to get closely examined by everyone on both the Main Street and Football Street.

Now that BB clearly stated that he has no idea about it ( and I am assuming Brady comes out with an equally compelling and believable PR), the league is boxed into an uncomfortable position of trying to figure what exactly happened. And you think they are gleeful about it?

If the BU and BC professors themselves have different interpretations, what hope does the league have?.

And given that it is the 'camera-gate Pats' who are involved, they have to be super conscious of every single action they take. They have to walk on eggshells to ensure that they do the 'right' thing at least this time.

What a nightmare!

That is why, IMHO, they would have immediately leaked out if the difference was 0.2 and not 2.0 psi. That would have converted this storm into a mild shower.

I deleted the post causing all this trouble. Now everyone can let me be.

Where is the negative press on the NFL, though? In principle, you may be right - but I haven't seen a single negative article. I've seen more positive press about Goodell for going after them.

If Goodell was concerned about the timing of this investigation and negative PR, he could've looked into it in November. He waited until the playoffs. He's not concerned about any blow-back on him.

Michael "anything for a click" Rosenburg has so many lies in there, but let's start with something he left out, that the TV screen has a 7-10 second delay (according to Fauria and Arnold)...so much for the timelychallenge flag. Fauria has said that the opposition has a much better view of said TV than the Pats. I'm learning to embrace the hate, but there is only so much ******** that I can stomach...

Anyway, why would the CBS Scene TV be any better than the jumbotrons in the stadium that are much closer?

Not to mention our own guys in the freakin' booth.......

the bigger story here nobody is talking about BRAD JOHNSON BRIBED A BALL BOY TO DO THIS IN A SUPERBOWL

I know right? A buddy of mine is a Bucs fan, he's been trolling me about this crap all week. I sent him the Johnson stuff and dished it right back, asked why this wasn't a bigger story. His response 'honestly I'm just happy you're acknowledging the Bucs in the SB, everyone seems to forget about what was one of the best defenses in the history of the NFL".

It's completely true: the Pats have a giant target on their back and the media piles on, period. The Bucs? The Vikings? The Panthers? Not so much.

Comparing Bedard to Brady (after Bedard's horrid SI column this morning) is like.... my brain just exploded.

You may not like his post, but he did actual journalism. He contacted multiple sources, quoted and avoided grand gestures that would make him or anyone else look silly.

Being a good reporter doesnt mean you like everything they write, it means they dont out themselves as cheerleaders or filling an agenda. Bedard does neither of those, and is one of the few out there I feel comfortable with reading at face value. In the age we live in with media, there are probably fewer good journalists than there are starting QBs.

I REALLY hope that this will be the headline plastered on every news channel - Brady prefers footballs a "certain way". Is he a cheater? YOU decide.

Because all that matter these days is "public opinion"

He had huge holes and contradictions in his article that I could drive a truck through.

In the one instant he wrote that the referees are sometimes lax with inspection. In the very next sentence he concluded that a differing PSI on a retest proves there was tampering.

Further down, he talks about the report that the NFL was aware of the ball deflation in other games, a long before halftime. But he never once teases out the implications of what he's saying with an eye toward possibly supporting the Patriots. he thinks only about how those previous accusations show a pattern. He doesn't once stop to consider that if this was known prior, and the NFL was on the lookout, how come no one was seen altering the balls?
